  1. Good, hopefully that will lead to some answers although I will not hold my breath. What you forgot to ask for however is what is the citizenship on the applications each office receives and awards. I expect a significant percentage of applications are not made from the applicants home country.
  2. Canadian Prime Ministers account for only a very small percentage of Canadian history. I suggest the best scholar knows virtually nothing about Canadian history.
  3. Same thing, what are the missions and what is the appropriate tool to support them.
  4. air-to-air combat? Is that something Canada is heavily involved in?
  5. Yes, Venezuela does have some similarities to Trump's America. The government of Venezuela is deporting refugees from Columbia.
  6. First there is a difference between banning Jews and banning Israelis, so you should fix that colored, big, bold statement. Second why are you fighting for a race to the bottome Third why are these countries not on Trumps list then Dahir Adan was born in Kenya, and moved to the United States at age 2 as a refugee.
  7. Brian Byrne, staff sergeant responsible for the RCMP's integrated border enforcement team in Quebec addressed how they deal with those crossing the border illegally. Once a person is in sight, an officer on the ground will inform them that if they cross, they will be committing an offence under the Canadian Customs Act. "We'll tell them that if they do cross the line that they will be arrested. We tell them that they should enter through a port of entry, we tell them that it's five kilometres east of here [from the crossing where he was giving the interview - Roxham road] and if they don't respect the warning then we arrest them." After they are taken into police custody, they are identified and brought to the closest Canadian Border Service Agency checkpoint. There they will be interviewed, fingerprinted, and a file started. The will be detained if they cannot be identified, appear to pose a threat, or there is a risk they might not show up to a refugee hearing. Otherwise they are often released to stay with family or friends awaiting their hearing. It would be interesting to see what the statistics are, not just he number that show up but if they subsequently fail to show for a hearing or otherwise cause a problem.
  8. I found this Quinnipiac University poll of live calls to landlines and cell phones to survey of 1,323 voters across the country between February 16 and 21. Can you figure out who they are referring to

    55% disapprove of his performance
55% say he is not honest, lacks leadership skills
60% say he does not share their values
90% think it is important that journalists hold public officials accountable
61% disapprove how he portrayed the media
58% say his actions are dividing the country

Polls also said that figure would not win the 2016 presidential election.   Ooops!

Rasmussen gave him 51% as of Wednesday.

he Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 37% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2. (see trends).

Following numerous leaks of secret information to the news media intended to embarrass the president, most voters think the leakers should be punished.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of Republicans and 50% of voters not affiliated with either major political party feel U.S. intelligence agencies have their own political agenda. Just 39% of Democrats agree.

  9. Thank you, keep 'em coming. I would like to see a good comment rating system, but the current system doesn't accomplish anything so might as well play.
  10. At Donald Trump's rally on Saturday he spoke the following alternative fact: “They were close to signing a $4.2 billion deal to have a new Air Force One. Can you believe this? I said, ‘No way.’ I said, ‘I refuse to fly in a $4.2 billion airplane. I refuse.’ We got that price down by over $1 billion, and I probably haven’t spoken, to be honest with you, for more than an hour on the project. I got the generals in, who are fantastic. I got Boeing in. But I told Boeing it’s not good enough. We’re not going to do it. The price is still too high.”. Today we heard the real fact from Air Force Colonel Pat Ryder: “To my knowledge I have not been told that we have that information, I refer you to the White House”. A White House spokesman didn’t respond to repeated inquiries about Trump’s comments.
  11. I fear those who fear fear because they are the most unpredictable.
  12. ...and the need for a lot of water for cooling. Thermal power generation uses huge volumes of water for cooling, that obviously includes nuclear but also coal. It is interesting to note that water does not become radioactive. The problem is not the water, but sediment in the water. If you can filter out all the sediment then there would be no problem.
  13. Before they cross into Canada, they are in the United States. Any action of our police force in another country can be considered an act of war. We cannot do anything until they cross. Open up your wallet, $60 billion will build a wall based on the Trump fiasco estimates. That should stop most of them.
  14. I'm with you there, I have been saying that for years. I don't think we should be planning an economy based on population inflation. I'm not anti-immigrant, I am against the economic models that have been the driving factor here.
  15. They can't do anything to someone in the US, that is outside their jurisdiction. Once they enter Canada illegally, they are arrested and brought to the border agents. That is following the law, are you suggesting the police break the law? Are you suggesting the law be changed? Then tell me how. If the police do something on American soil then that is an act of war. Do you want to go to war with the US?
  16. Could you point out the policy, and suggest how to change it. The policy I am aware of has several categories, but none of them that I am aware of favour one source nation over another. I would favour lower overall immigration, I have said so for years. Unfortunately the capitalists and economists that seem to be able to twist the ears of politicians don't agree.
  17. US-Mexico wall, at least $20 billion. Our land border is 3 times a long. Get out you wallet. We do have an agreement with the US, the only country we have an agreement, it is the safe third country agreement that is being talked about, the one the NDP want to get rid of. Ok, so we are talking process. What exactly is the process today, and how do we change it. Detention centres already exist. Ok, so what do we do with refugee claimants that arrive in country? Create a concentration camp? Ok, so you want to open up the Constitution. Write your MP and tell them your wish. Don't forget to mention what you want to do with permanent resident, visitors, etc. Are there now to be 2 categories, or more of rights? You now that? How, are you a mind reader? They are doing their job, arresting illegal aliens and taking them to the border services. We are a country of laws, and so far the laws are being followed. Are you suggesting to change the laws, or break the laws? Yes, it is a bad situation. The point is do you want to create a far worse situation in order to solve it. There are only a small number of refugee claimants that fit into this category, in fact fewer than there were a decade ago.
  18. What do you expect them to do?
  19. I must have missed the motion, could you point it out?
  20. Yes, queue jumping is an issue. What is your solution?
  21. So opinions cannot be hateful? That judge who told the rape victim to close her legs didn`t make a hateful statement?
  22. Agreed, which makes the need of drones or other technology to capture refugees even less of an issue. I think we should be exploring these technologies to catch smugglers (weapons, drugs, etc.), and sure if someone wants to help justify that because of the refugees then go ahead. Just don`t think it will address any issue with refugees.
  23. Agreed, which is the entire point about all the hate speech that is happening today in many ways.
