So-called refugees crossing Manitoba/American border.
?Impact replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That will help them to catch people who get through the border, but there is little evidence that there are people getting through the border without being caught. -
Yes, but the real question is what was the respective roles of the Jewish establishment compared to the Romans at the time. Pontius Pilate was the prefect of the Roman province of Judaea serving under Emperor Tiberius. Tiberius was not a Jew, although the Jewish establishment did have a hand in saying that Jesus claiming to be King of the Jews could be viewed as a threat to the roman emperor.

It is not the constitutional rights that are being denounced, it is what they are saying when they exercise those rights. Tory or anybody has the full right to criticize what they say. From the reports I heard, it was a hateful act. It should also be investigated closer to see if it was a hate crime, but it seems that would require the mosque to file an official complaint. Without clear evidence, like videos of what was said, that would end up being a he said she said case and just cost the mosque lots of money in legal fees.

Agreed and that is what I was referring to. They for the most part are concerned about raising a family and improving their lot in life. They just like most of the rest of us respect others and live by the rules of society.

No, I prefer the other way. I want to get the lowest score.

That one deserves some, too bad I blew my limit (can't use the other word) earlier. Don't be picky, I wasn't.

I'm done, exhausted my limit.

Ok, I'm on board as well. Lets put the Dog over the top.

Maybe that is the way you like to deal with it, but I prefer to call them out.

Bombardier just received $372 million in loans
?Impact replied to ?Impact's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What about fossil fuel (largest corporate welfare recipient by a significant margin), and other resource extraction industries? That would account for about 80% of our corporate welfare. I agree ignorance is a problem, and that is what I am suggesting a solution to. Proper accountability. I never said it is unfair to poor little Bombardier, I said we need a real solution for everyone. I am not suggesting accountability only for Imperial Oil I am suggesting accountability for all. -
The vast majority of Muslims in Canada are indistinguishable from the rest of our society. No it is outright bigotry in both cases, it is about what they are. Many Muslims are fleeing the atrocities in other countries, and here you are saying they are committing them. There have been attacks against both Jews and Muslims in this country, against their homes, against their religious and cultural institutions, and worst of all against individuals. That needs to stop, and the bigots that incite it need to be called out for what they are.

Where did I ever say that. In fact, if you check I was the person who started this entire thread on the loan to Bombardier. I am questioning it. I think it is indicative of a larger problem, and we need to solve the problem. We don't make up laws that are targeted towards a single individual, we make up laws that are fair across the board. We have a problem, lets fix the problem. Your allegations against Bombardier could be made against any number of companies and industries. -

Patrick Brown doesn't fall for the Islamophobia trap
?Impact replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Wow, this conspiracy theory does go deep. Brown gets out ahead of a motion in order to derail the hidden agenda behind the motion to be brought by a back bencher as a covert attempt by the government to tar and feather the opposition. It will be interesting to see if the motion changes before it is tabled on Thursday when this particular back bencher gets the kick at the can, and even more interesting if Brown gets a heads up and is able to circumvent the hidden agenda behind the modified motion. This is far better than a spy thriller. -
I didn't realize that Tory called it a hate crime, can you provide me a link to that?
-
It sounds like you are the one trying to silence dissent. What is wrong with Tory denouncing a protest, legal or otherwise? Why do you want to silence Tory's opinion? I denounce the protest as well, as do many others. What is wrong with that?

Yes, I don't know how many sailor they allow on leave at one time but even 20% would be a thousand tourists. I don't know if that situation applies to Canada, do US carriers dock in any Canadian ports? There are probably a limited number of ports they can dock in anyway. Canadian air assets to support US wars you mean? -

I'm not sure I follow from the linked article how Wynne fits into this situation. There is a [planned] motion from a back bencher, and it looks like Brown will support it and we can presume Wynne as well. I don't follow your [conspiracy] theory. -

Really? When has Canada ever asked the US to establish overseas bases? -
Who am I to judge, whatever kind of bondage games you play in the bedroom is your own business.

Why does the US have so many overseas bases? Are they being requested by the host nations, or forced upon them by the US. If the US is giving concessions for those bases, I would expect the latter. -
What law? I never mentioned any law. Where did you hear about a law? Oh yeah, your echo chamber again.

Where did I say you couldn't? Oh yeah, your echo chamber.
