Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
?Impact replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I can't imagine that scenario on a single engine plane. In fact I can't imagine a single engine commercial jet because to the best of my knowledge there is none. There was an attempt to create a single engine executive jet, but the company has been struggling for decades to get it to market. They built a prototype in the late 90's, got sold to another company that changed to dual engines, got bought again and returned to their single engine, but so far over 20 years later and they have not produced anything beyond the original prototype. -

Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?

I didn't watch the video, but I can guess. The point is that the range without checking into a flying Sunoco station is still important and especially so in the barren north. You would need at least 2 of those operating in the area in case one fails and had to return to base. We might as well order up an entire fleet of Airbus 310's to tack onto the F-35 bill. It will still get a lot more pilots back to base, or at least much closer to base so they don't have to eject a billion miles from nowhere. The larger challenge with the F-18 performance on a single engine is landing, and that is an issue for carrier pilots - how many of them do we have? -

Yes, that is just one of many reasons. Range is a particularly important difference as well. -

The F-35 is not appropriate for the arctic -
Probably the same Angus Reid poll that others are relying on, but I actually looked at the results and not the headline. The question one asks, or doesn't ask, has a lot of influence on getting the results you want; this poll illustrates it in spades.

You are our neighbors, so of course we are going to have opinions. Just like we talk about those in other provinces, those living on the other side of town, or those right next door. We are going to bitch because you forgot to return that power tool you borrowed last week or that noisy your kid hangs out with in the driveway playing basketball, but you're also a close friend and we wouldn't hesitate to look after the house/kids when you get that emergency call that your mother was rushed to the hospital. Yes, we are nosy neighbors and are going to comment on what you do and even get into the occasional spat when you leave your trashcan in our driveway, but don't move away because we will miss you.

If you believe in following laws, then why do you want to violate the international convention & protocol on refugees? Wrong, you are misquoting statistics. 39% want capital punishment, 45% want life imprisonment without chance of parole, and 15% are not sure. Of those who wanted capital punishment, we see that they are based on completely false premises like the supposed money it will save - capital punishment is the most expensive option of all by several orders of magnitude.

If you can't get anyone else to play ball with you, even coming in first can be a strong rebuke.

Once you relate math to figuring out the real world, it becomes very interesting. It could be counting your money, scoring a game of darts, calculating the ballistic trajectory of that cannon ball to defeat you enemy, or figuring out the mysteries of the physical universe. Applied mathematics is very exciting, our modern world would be nowhere without it. -
I'm not sure I follow. While others will probably have more second and third choices than O'Leary, he doesn't lose his first choice (we assume he will be high enough not to be removed from the running and have his first choice ballots redistributed). He just has to cross the 16901 threshold, and if he is ahead on the first ballot count then he doesn't need as many second or third choices. The complication of having 100 points assigned to each electoral district and distributed based on percent vote in that district does change things as well.

...and like the British criminals sent to Australia, you can build it into a thriving world destination. As global warming opens up the north-west passage, you will be ideally placed to cater to the tourist crowd. -

Don't forget the Kingdom of Bavaria which was part of the Deutsches Kaiserreich (German Empire) when Fredrich Drumpf emigrated to America to start his barbershop and later whorehouse to accumulate the Trump family fortune. In those days they did strip you of your citizenship as old Freddy found out when he returned to Bavaria but they wouldn't allow him to stay because he was a draft dodger (just like his grandson). -
He plagiarized that from an ancient Egyptian proverb quoting the goddess of truth and justice (Ma'at) from around 2000 years earlier.

Immigration watch is a racist group. Their idea of freedom of speech is distributing flyers with pictures of a group of white people and a group of brown people and the caption "from this to that, is that what you want?". Fraser institute is never factual, they twist facts to serve an agenda. Do you have any credible sources? -
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

or else you didn't listen. One of their spokeswomen was on the boob tube last night saying exactly that, this being the 150th year of Confederation that seeing other parts of Canada would be a great thing to do. -

Yes, if you overlaid the graphs for 1990-2014 between Canada and the US you would hardly be able to tell them apart if they were scaled in percent of 1990 value. Both countries grew slowly during the 90's, and then flattened out with a drop after the recession and slow growth back to just under the previous levels. We need to do far more. -
So you are a Sunni Muslim. No I didn't know that, but thanks for telling us.

I'm not belittling or defining anything. I am just pointing out that what is commonly referred to as Hadith is not a book like the Quran. When you say 'first two volumes' you are obviously referring to a collection, which one?
