How Christians reconcile supporting the devil
?Impact replied to Argus's topic in Religion & Politics
Certainly, go ahead and raise the funds to do so if you wish. -
California regulates cow farts
?Impact replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It is the difference between a colostomy bag and a municipal wastewater treatment plant. In other words extremely different. Also note that capture of methane from organic waste is only one strategy, reducing methane production through more efficient feed in ruminants is also an import strategy being examined. The production of excess methane represents an energy intake loss from incomplete nutrient digestion. -

Not precisely? Try completely, 100% false. It is no more accurate than any compete 100% lie. Yes, there are climate alarmists out there, and those that make false claims get to be called out. Making up your own compete, 100% lies and spreading them is not payback it is lying. -
The CBC wants an extra $400 million so they can go Ad Free
?Impact replied to Boges's topic in Arts and Culture
If there is any relationship between the two, then is more than likely the complete opposite of what you suggest. If you cut the cable, then you are more likely to be watching over the air broadcasts from CBC and others. Cutting the cable is about all those hundreds (thousands) of useless cable only channels that nobody wants. Youtube has replace the sewing channel, not the CBC. -

Surprise, surprise, surprise... betsy, Fox news, and many others simply don't read the legislation and make 100% false claims The regulation has absolutely nothing to do with cow farts, that is complete bullshit. -
Pipeline Politics - Is Canada the only "sucker" Nation?
?Impact replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Liberals are, and always have been, pro business. This pipeline is right down the old Liberal path. -
I agree, I already said as much. I am just pointing out that it is free speech, regardless if you agree or not.

Not in the 3rd quarter this year, but they both did fairly well (US 3.2%, Canada 3.5%).
-
I see it as a protest against the policies of the current government. I don`t think it is a good way to protest, but your labeling it as hate speech towards an entire nation is basically hate speech towards the persons who do it as they may be as, or more, patriotic than you.

Trump Signs Deal to keep Carrier in the US
?Impact replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Then they run the hydro bill through the roof and complain about the cost of power. Of course new power plants at billions apiece need to be built to support their air conditioning habit. -

They used to say the same thing about Japan, South Korea, China, etc. -
Yes, in fact the Legion has flag burning ceremonies on flag day (June 14). I think the point is people are burning the flag as a protest, usually against the government, and not just to retire an unserviceable flag. While I don't think flag burning is the best form of protest, it is free expression and allowed. Too many people associate protests against the government as protests against America, and nothing could be further from the truth. An unserviceable flag is not one that has touched the ground as many people seem to believe. If it gets dirty, then it should be cleaned and reused. If it is worn out (faded, frayed by the wind, or otherwise beyond repair) then it should be destroyed, and that is why it is burned. One thing I do admire about Americans as generally they do take care of their flag, and make sure to fly one that is in decent condition. The number of faded, and wind worn flags flying around in Canada is a disgrace. It is not just the Canadian flag, in Quebec where there are a lot of fleurdelisé flying you see many of them in sad shape.

Line 3 is Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba Yes Kinder Morgan needs to complete BC environmental assessment, but from what I understand that is progressing and should soon be finished. -
I have to say I agree with that one. When did the Quebec nationalists switch from canadiens to québécois? I remember hearing that a few times from older people in the 60's but I don't think it was very common even then. b.t.w. your flag image is giving me the following problem: The page you are trying to access is not available for your account.

Was the US election hacked?
?Impact replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
CNN made Trump with all of their free advertising for him since he was a nobody in the primaries. -
Myself, I think anyone who tears up the Constitution really doesn't love their country. Should we send Donald Trump to jail for trying to destroy the first amendment? Should we send Donald Trump to jail for trying to make American citizens stateless, which is contrary to international agreements and human rights?

?Impact replied to Boges's topic in Arts and Culture
We used to have Radio Canada International. If you drive into Nova Scotia, you will see their shortwave antennas on the way. I believe their funds have been cut significantly in recent years so I don't know what is really left of them. Years ago when I was living in Europe I used to listen to them occasionally, that along with McLeans magazine gave me my fix of news from home. If CBC makes any programs that can earn money in other jurisdictions then I see no problem of syndicating them, but that should not be their focus. I also don't see the need for CBC television channels in other markets. The Internet allows CBC programming to reach foreign markets just fine. I believe some of it is subscription based, but expats can pay the fee if they choose. -
Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
?Impact replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is not about our ability to deliver today, it is about the state of our ability in 2025. Look at the number of CF-18 airframes we are operating, the hours on them, and how long they will last. We have an obligation to prepare to meet our commitments, not wait until that capability is degraded beyond repair because nobody has complained yet. -
Trudeau's pie in the sky environmental policies
?Impact replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Rechargeable battery technology does degrade based on the number of charge cycles, so using your car as day to day storage to smooth out the grid will increase the cost. Hopefully we will have more technology improvements that increase the number of charge cycles, decrease the cost of the batteries, and most importantly provide more complete recycling of materials from old batteries. There is progress being made on all three fronts, but still a long ways to go. -
Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
?Impact replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So you are suggesting that we should only meet part of our commitments, because commitments are not really commitments? It was Lt.-Gen. Michael Hood who said we can't meet them with the current inventory of CF-18s. -
Was the US election hacked?
?Impact replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
One lady who has lived longer (45 years) in the US than probably 50% of citizens who did vote was caught in electoral fraud and you think the world is coming to an end. -

That sounds like some guy on the internet quoting third parties who might or might not know what they're talking about. -

Agreed 100% Now what do you suggest we do for the corner we have been backed into? Should we forgo our obligations to NORAD or NATO? Should we cut a bigger back room deal with someone else? -
Well said, and the other stuff. There is a lot to dislike about Castro, but he also made some very positive changes in spite of the corner he was squeezed into.
