  1. Oh my! Conyers looks vulnerable in 2010 reelection poll House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) could face a tough reelection race in 2010, according to a new, independent poll released this weekend. 40 percent of Conyers's constituents said he deserved reelection, according to a poll conducted earlier this month by the Lansing, Mich.-based Deno Noor Polling, in conjunction with the Rossman Group and Perricone Group. 44 percent of Detroiters represented by Conyers said they would prefer to elect someone else. 15 percent were unsure or didn't know. Link When Conyers is in trouble in Detroit, you KNOW the Dems are in HUGE trouble.
  2. I still fail to understand why Liberal supporters spend more energy attacking the NDP, than they do attacking the Conservatives. It's a pretty standard rule in politics, that you always wanna shoot up, not down. You just end up lowering yourself, while elevating those who you're attacking. Bad political instincts.
  3. Any party in power usually sees a bit of a drop in support during Parliamentary sessions. However, Harper should not, and will not call an election. Perhaps something for end of October, or early November. But even that's unlikely. I think it's more likely next spring. When the economy has clearly come out of recession. And I think the Libearls are losing support, because frankly, Canadian's don't wanna vote for an American for Prime Minister.
  4. You're quite right. Anyone else see George St. Pierre destroy BJ Penn a few months ago? Wow!
  5. Add Harry Reid to the list of troubled Dems. I remember mentioning this a few months ago, only to have people claim it was a stretch. Well, I'm ready for your apologies. Polls show potential GOP challengers would beat Harry Reid It's the highest stakes ever for a Nevada election, and former boxer Sen. Harry Reid is on the ropes early. Either Republican Danny Tarkanian or Sue Lowden would knock out Reid in a general election, according to a recent poll of Nevada voters. Link
  6. I read this a couple of days ago. Carbon Dioxide irrelevant in climate debate says MIT Scientist In a study sure to ruffle the feathers of the Global Warming cabal, Professor Richard Lindzen of MIT has published a paper which proves that IPCC models are overstating by 6 times, the relevance of CO2 in Earth’s Atmosphere. Dr. Lindzen has found that heat is radiated out in to space at a far higher rate than any modeling system to date can account for. Link
  7. I agree. However Obama being "successful" and a strong economy aren't necessarily the same thing.
  8. Town Hall Meeting with U.S. Congressman Brian Baird Let's just say that Congressman Baird gets served, by a former Marine. "I also heard you say that you're going to let us keep our health insurance. Well thank you. But it's not your right to decide whether I keep my current plan or not. It's my decision."
  9. Yep. And they've been in a decade long recession. Yep. And they went bankrupt not long ago. What ‘bankrupt’ means is just that: The country cannot pay back its external debts, and the Icelandic currency, the krona, has become essentially valueless in the rest of the world. That means the country can no longer pay for imports. Link Are the Japan and Iceland examples suppose to bring comfort? We're not talking about borrowing during a recession, we're talking about massive deficits piled up year after year, long after the recession is projected to be over. From who will they borrow from? China is already alarmed at the situation, and is very reluctant to make anymore loans. And borrowing more money gobbles up credit that would otherwise be used by the private sector. And the old credit markets of the past, don't exist anymore. We're living in a new credit reality. The 9 trillion figure doesn't refer to recession-era spending. It's for the years after. The economy continues to shed 6 figure job totals each month. So perhaps "all signs" should be amended to some signs. Unless they're partisan wingnuts, of course.
  10. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Obama administration will raise its 10-year budget deficit projection to approximately $9 trillion from $7.108 trillion in a report next week, a senior administration official told Reuters on Friday. Reuters You're doin a heckuva job Barry, heckuva a job!
  11. And the fact that you continue to post in a thread titled 'Sarah Palin' illustrates perfectly just how relevant she continues to be!
  12. No, you are wrong. If you were right, the Dems wouldn't have dropped the death panel part of the legislation. The media firestorm that erupted was directly from a statement made by Sarah Palin on facebook. Just admit it. You were completely and utterly wrong.
  13. It definitely does. When a President has a high approval rating, he can better influence other lawmakers. When his approval is low, they basically can ignore him.
  14. Obama's popularity may hit bottom faster than anyone could have predicted. Developing—Obama hits record low in Zogby Interactive—45% approve Zogby
  15. Um, your math is a little fuzzy.
  16. Charlie Cook: Dem situation has 'slipped completely out of control' Charlie Cook, one of the best political handicappers in the business, sent out a special update to Cook Political Report subscribers Thursday that should send shivers down Democratic spines. Reviewing recent polling and the 2010 election landscape, Cook can envision a scenario in which Democratic House losses could exceed 20 seats. Politico Looks like it's even better than I thought. Hope n change!
  17. But the numbers tell another story, as well. Earlier in the week, after pollsters for NBC dropped the word "choice" from their question on a public option, they found that only 43 percent of the public were in favor of "creating a public health care plan administered by the federal government that would compete directly with private health insurance companies."
  18. Dumping more money into a broken system is not reform. That's just doing nothing. And doing nothing isn't an option.
  19. Probably another black man. But because that doens't fit the racist template of MSDNC, they didn't wanna show people their upper body. Pathetic.
  20. Ok, she's a lowlife. She's the devil. She's worse than Hitler. Is she relevant? Come'on, just admit you were wrong, and we can all just move on. Like I said, you'll feel better for getting it off your chest.
  21. Asking for more money is not reform. You want to do nothing. You just want the status quo. And that isn't an option.
  22. How many people die every year in Canada, while on a waiting list? Doing nothing is not an option. We need reform in Canada.
  23. Limbaugh, Rove to guest on 'Family Guy' Talk show host Rush Limbaugh, former Bush strategist Karl Rove and other famous Republicans will play themselves on Fox's left-leaning "Family Guy" next season. In an episode being produced for next season, the Griffins' liberal dog, Brian, gets bored and frustrated because he feels he no longer has anything to complain about with Barack Obama in the White House. So Brian becomes a Republican and starts listening to Rush Limbaugh (who, apparently, also sings a song). "'Family Guy' tends to be very liberal because it's written by liberals," creator Seth MacFarlane said. "So we thought let's give the other side some face time. So we put it out there to a lot of Republicans -- 'we're doing this show, who wants in?' -- and we got some bites. I'm sure the reaction from some will be 'you monsters, how could you have Karl Rove on your show?' " Link Personally, I can't wait to see the episodes.
