Gunman kills 12, wounds 30 at Fort Hood
Shady replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
He must be purposely acting obtuse. It's the only way to explain it. It's like standing outside on a beautiful sunny day and asking what the weather is like. He knows nothing because he chooses to. It's all part of his ilk. -

That's absolutely not true. That's just more 'head in the sand' thinking. Officials: U.S. Aware of Hasan Efforts to Contact al Qaeda U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News. Why would you have your car insurance payment fall under the category of Government? My carinsurance payment falls under the category of State Farm, not Government of Canada. It's a private-sector business, not a government institution.

The shooter had no experience in a war. He had never been to Iraq. He had never been to Afghanistan. He had never seen combat. He had only served in Virgina, and Texas. Or maybe this was the first ever case of pre-post tramatic stress disorder? -

I'm sure that would make for a fine speech at an ant-war rally at UC Berkeley, or a similar institution. However, it has little if nothing to do with the shooting at Fort Hood. This particular individual was never deployed, and never saw any combat anywhere. His motivation was purely political and religious. He was a radical Islamic individual, who committed a terrorist act. -

You're exactly right. Case in point, ABC News, who's anchors, and I quote "wished his name was Smith" because they were worried of a so-called reflexive question as to his religious motives. Heads in the sand. Don't want their false illusions destroyed. -
I'd be very interested in seeing a similar video made, involving all of the lives destroyed by the 'good intentions' of the social democratic welfare state. Which traps invidivduals and families into dependency on a meager subsistence for generation after generation. But I'm guessing it'll be a cold day in hell before any of these artsy fartsy types make anything resembling that.

Because of the politically correct environment fostered by your ilk. Not only does the shooter have the blood of his victims on his hands, but so does the American left. This terrorist attack was entirely preventable. Unfortunately for the soldiers at Fort Hood, many people are more interested in maintaining a false illusion of a certain multiculturalism, and the bending over backwards as to not offend certain people, then actually implementing real strategies to address the problem. The PC chickens came home to roost. -
The bill is clearly unconstitutional. The federal government doesn't have the power to force a private citizen to buy anything. It won't get out of the senate, but even if it did, it will be challenged on a constitutional basis.

There's so much wrong with the Dems healthcare reform plan, it's hard to even know where to start. 1) Their reform doesn't actually kick in until 2013, after Obama's up for re-election, Coincidence? 2) The cost of the plan. The tax increases start immediately, but the reform doesn't begin for another 3 years, which allows them to fudge the numbers of the actual cost of the plan. 3) You're forced to pay something like $15,000 for health insurance or face 5 years in prison. 4) It allows access to illegal aliens. Good luck in 2010 Dems! You'll need it.

But I agree with that. Unions have been killing jobs and businesses for years.

I'm suprised more on the left aren't celebrating. Ford is an example of the type of evil corporation they've been fighting against for years. Remember? They make too much money, and need to be taxed more. I figured they'd all be cheering Ford getting what it deserves. No?

It probably does make him happy, because that way he knows his Liberal check is in the mail. If he doesn't scream, he doesnt get paid. -

It's not only that it's useless, but a complete waste of resources. 2 billion dollars could have been better spent in other ways. As one who wants to nickle and dime the construction of any new prison, you should be on our side of the issue. -
I'm glad the registry is finally being eliminated. It's a 2 billion dollar Liberal Party blunder that's survived much too long.

Yet another one of Dobbin's half-truths. It's getting to be an epidemic worse than H1N1. When confronted with the facts, he spins like a top. Liberal opens mouth, inserts foot! Deal with it. -
The Democrats Are In HUGE Trouble

Yep, they booted the Dem pretending to be a Republican. The actual Republican candidate is ahead in the polls. Hoffman Leads Owens 41-36% Link And... Chris Christie leads Jon Corzine 47-41 Link Looks like your boy Corzine is in a tad bit of trouble! -
Quebec a loser in stimulus sweepstakes: CP analysis

It's just one of Dobbin's half-truth, negative ad-style hit pieces. You don't actually think he'd be completely honest do you? -
That's an oxymoron. There's no such thing as a "controversial" majority. He recieved overwhelming support. The only controversy is that you didn't like it. Not necessarily. It depends who and why people are protesting. Winning a second majority government proves your premise to be false. The voter's didn't care about the protests. Well, you're the one who said you wanted a government governing without protest. It doesn't exist, except in dictatorships. Again, history proves your premise to be false. One doesn't win back to back majorities with a province so-called divided. Inept: if you mean balancing budgets, fostering strong economic growth, lowering taxes, and raising our credit rating Fake businessman: Not even sure what that means. But he did make Ontario the most attractive place to do business amoung our neighbouring provinces and states. Divided the province: As I've already proven, you don't win majority governments twice by dividing people. Killed people: If he killed people, than McGuinty and every other Premier to come before Harris has also killed people, using your logic. Failure: Again, if being handed a 10 billion dollar deficit, turning it into surpluses, lowering taxes, creating a great business environment, fostering strong economic growth, and saving billions of dollars by raising the province's credit rating is failure, then I don't want your so-called success.
