If your city was slammed by record-shattering heat this summer, you can partly blame the stuff the city itself is made of. The scorching temperatures across Europe and the U.S. in July were made worse by one of humanity’s most widely used but least-loved inventions: concrete.

Not in Alberta. We've had almost nothing but cold, rainy weather for 3 months now. The leaves are already turning color and falling. It's depressing.

Yep, we had a wet cool summer here a few years ago. Sounds like normal variation. All is well.
All small towns out here though, no concrete jungle. You city slickers can keep that.
