Energy was 20% of the market, now it's only 5%, Canada is in steep decline, because energy is actually in a long term structural depression.
Canada's supposed wealth is all debt, public debt, private debt, Canada doesn't actually have any money at all, and Alberta is not bailing them out, because again; structural depression in the energy markets.

Bear in mind, there's no reason to panic, you don't have to be invested in Canadian Confederation nor any of its entrenched interests.
Corrections are a good thing. That's the thing which brings ancien regimes down, chaos is a ladder.
And if you are a Millenial, the only time to get in, is when there is blood in the streets, a 20% or more correction is your friend.
