It will get worse as the smears and insinuations will increase as the election gets closer.  The Liberals have no good record to campaign on so they have to demonize the opposition. 

and yet liberals have stoped the bleeding out and are gaining in the polls.

The only way the Liberals lose is if the NDP splits the left, but the NDP seems to have handed the election to the Liberals with their ridiculous "everything free for everybody by soaking the rich" fantasy platform, Jagmeet seems to be more worried about being wiped out by the Greens and so he's just fighting a rear guard action to keep the Dipper ship afloat rather than trying to beat Trudeau.
