Well not the four main guys Coren, Levant, Lilley and Adler. But women contribute to those shows. There's this new reporter named Faith Goldy that's quite a hottie. They're always talking to a social media correspondent named Gina Phillips. She's the one that's been tasked to pimp this CRTC application.

Those are the prime time shows. The afternoon hosts are both East Asian women. The weekend host is a black man and the correspondents are overwhelmingly female. I have a feeling most critics of Sun News rarely watch it.

You know there are several women and minorities on Sun News right?
-
Wow someone finally made this thread. SUN makes a good point that they create lots of CanCon while many other basic cable channels don't. They are at a massive disadvantage if they are only available in 4 of 10 home. They also aren't asking for as much, per subscriber, as CBC Newworld gets. The only argument against it is that there are already like 5 news channels on basic cable. But Sun is fairly unique compared to CP24 and CTV News Channel. The CRTC should review why we need 3 News channels owned by Bell. I believe City News is owned by Bell now. I may be wrong.

Yeah this can be used against him in another election for sure. But who's he running against? Will two people on the left run? Will Olivia Chow run? If Karen Stinz runs he's likely toast but now she's taking heat for sole sourcing news stand contracts. There's a lot to be determined.

Not all the left but there's a small group of people behind all Ford's legal issues. I'm sure if you did forensic audits of a lot of politicians you'd find some technical breaking of of the rules. There's no precedent for removing a sitting mayor for violations like these. And even if there was it'd take months for any action to be taken. They're wasting their time.

He probably won't lose his job over this.

There were issues of him getting a loan from his family company. Apparently you're not allowed to do that.

The results of this appeal show that the integrity commissioner had no authority to try and make Ford repay that money. So you could argue he was right to ignore her. No one is talking about the audit finding? It found that Ford spent $40,000 improperly? I guess because there's no realistic chance he'll be removed from office over this, but no one cares.

Make no mistake, the opposition will be right back at embarrassing the government daily over this when QP sits again. The Tories have a contempt motion in on the Energy minister. Public Inquiries are expensive and rarely provide any satisfaction to the wronged parties involved. That being said it is fresh coming from the Liberals that they don't want to waste money.

Canadians Want American Super Bowl Ads
Boges replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Media and Broadcasting
Canadian commercials are only shown on programming that a Canadian broadcaster (in this case CTV) buys the rights to show something in Canada. The same will be the case for the Oscars. Most of the time you get the American advertising. When I watch College football on CBS or ABC I get the US ads. -

Unions Using Teachers Using Students
Boges replied to Big Guy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
No teacher would be forced to pay for rent of auditorium the school owns. They wouldn't do it if that was the case. Sure if a private company wanted to use the facility that's different. But these are students that go to the school. And BTW the board also wouldn't allow the parents to use a contact list so they could try and sell tickets to people. These were roadblocks put up by the board to try and convince parents not to do jobs that teachers normally do. It's guessed in the story that these charges are wildly inflated. This is the School Board that has no problem paying someone over $100 to screw in a pencil sharpener. -
But there's no legal way to determine if someone is high while driving, I guess if you caught them smoking while driving I suppose. Traffic Laws would be updated if MJ were to be legalized. MADD would like the police to stop people to check BAC without any probable cause. On the morning show I listen to I heard a Federal Liberal candidate that was advocating for legalized Pot. (MCBOs)

Unions Using Teachers Using Students

So the teachers have to pay to rent the auditorium, pay police officers and buy insurance? I understand insuring the parent but that's, by far, the least costly thing this parent is being asked to pay. ($30 a day) -

According to this story in today's Star, it's a lot harder for parents to volunteer than just get a police check if they want to do stuff that teachers aren't allowed to do because of their Union. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/01/31/ontario_teacher_protests_10000_school_play_too_much_parents_say.html -
Canadians Want American Super Bowl Ads

But only good for Network broadcasting. The people who use antennas probably don't pay for cable TV and get much of their content online (which isn't very good quality) Most good TV comes on Premium Cable channels now anyway. Buying an antenna just to watch commercials seems silly. -

$20 for an otherwise useless antenna just to watch commercials you can see online the next day? Seems like a waste of money. Some of the ads will be shown in Canada too. I've already seen the VW ad that really sensitive/ignorant people think is racist because it has a white person speaking Jamaican. There was a show on CBS yesterday highlighting some of the best Super Bowl ads in history. They previewed a few of the ads too. The Toyota ad with the hottie from Big Bang Theory looks funny. The Budweiser Clydesdale ad looks awesome as usual. -

What about Band? Chess Club? Yearbook? Field Trips? And why should the Union come down on teachers that DO want to volunteer. That sounds like bullying to me. Would Teacher's Unions be cool with allowing parents to volunteer to do work that they used to do? -
Does this include not saying "SHAME!!!!!!!!" Everytime the Tories do something?
