I don't know. How do you determine a good teacher? The column states that good teachers contribute to the economy while bad teachers are a drain. You can't advocate for more pay for good teachers and still allow bad teachers to move up a pay scale can you?

The premise of the suit is the problem. Even if she was discriminated against and that could be proven, there's no way she would be entitled to the estimated life time earnings she might receive in that field. Now if she was disabled perhaps she could go for a figure like that because it would be impossible to recoup those funds. If she were to have won the case, she'd be a millionaire with a lifetime of potential earnings still ahead of her in another field. At maximum she could ask for her tuition back. Which, might I add is zero because her father works a the University.
-
The premise of the article would be accurate if only bad teachers could be easily replaced with good ones. Unions make this difficult. Tenure seems more important than actual skill.

I'm disappointed Ben Afleck and Bruce Willis couldn't stop this.

Nor do you. All we have is her assertion that he grade was related to her activism. Does that mean we can't form an opinion of the absurdity of taking a school to court over a grade? The Universities lawyer is correct, a court overturning a student's grade is a horrible precedent to set. I'm pretty sure the professor would have a track record of similar treatment, of other students, for the University to be able to determine if that's the teacher's MO. I heard on the radio, but can't verify with a MSM article that the professor has a close gay relative.

I guess the sarcasm didn't translate too well. Probably should have included this
-
I'm sure she has ample evidence the professor failed her because of her views on homosexuality. I'd be more surprised to hear that a professor in a University could hold down a job being vocally against Gay Rights.

Well that's the thing about electricity. Consumption is only a port of the bill. You have to be regularly using stuff like AC to really jack up the bill. Last Winter I was told that keeping the furnace's fan on 24/7 was good for consumption. Well that just jacked up my hydro bill, but because of the mild winter my gas consumption with already moderate.

God Help Western Civilization where we have a generation where students sue because they feel entitled to good grades. Well Miss Thode, You've just ensured you'll never achieve gainful employment with this stunt. GOOD JOB!!!!

I saw one of his heats in the Olympics. He's not actually that fast compared to his competitors.

There's a great line from Ryan Gosling in the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love.

You can do whatever you want, just be willing to pay more for the power being provided to you. If you're home all day with a kid, then I'll assume you're home all evening with the same kid too. That argument doesn't past muster. Laundry isn't terribly difficult to do, unless you're using washboards.

If people aren't going to modify, or be conditioned as you'd put it, then yeah you're bill is going to go up. Off-peak is 7pm-7am and Holidays and weekend. It what universe is it hard to fit using large appliances during those hours? I always do my laundry on the weekends or on a holiday if I'm not working. It's not really that hard. Do it in the evenings, or early in the morning if you have odd working hours. Sure if you HAVE TO do a load of laundry in the middle of a weekday, I guess you're SOL and you'll have to pay, it's not that much but for people to bemoan the whole thing. The meters more accurately measure usage as well which is good.
-
There was never meant to be a savings. Smart Meters are meant to modify people's power consumption habits. Don't do the laundry during the middle of a weekday. Is that so hard? People who say they are forced to do laundry at 2:00 am are just spouting hyperbole. The reason people's bills have gone up in Ontario is that our recently departed Premier is an absolute moron and drank the Green Energy Koolaid and is forcing all of Ontario to pay for it. All the while canceling power plants to win seats.

Who Should Lead A New Conservative Party
Boges replied to Alliance Fanatic's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I just voted for Mike Harris. -
Well then everyone in Ontario would be sick considering they're all over now. I've had one on my house for years. I'm fairly conservative but the outrage over smart meteres is pathetic.

When did I ever condemn you to Hell for your belief. Jesus has some pretty clear and sensible guidelines for how to live a decent life. It's comical how people who have No Faith like to debate theology when the reject the whole premise. They just want to bleep disturb. Where do you find hatred in the New Testament's message?
-
People actually watch Golf.

Is Pole Dancing a competitive sport?
-
But then why would he chastise the Jewish establishment every chance he got? They were all about the Law. I disagree with that quote you posted. But that's the fun thing about debating theology. Why would it be OK for Christians to eat Pork now if Jesus, Paul, Peter etc were all about maintaining the Laws as mentioned in the Old Testament. Oh and why would the Jewish leadership want him killed?

Senator Mike Duffy & PEI residency scandal
Boges replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
C'mon now. How many potential Senators actually live in PEI anyway. The entire Province is smaller any number of GTA suburbs. The fact that Senators have to pretend to represent a certain part of the country is the real scandal here. -
Women like to watch all those judgement sports. Why else does Figure Skating get Primetime spots every winter Olympics? No one likes to watch Greco-Roman Wrestling. Just sayin'.

Conservatives happy, NDP amused and Liberals gay
Boges replied to Big Guy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Especially since she's taking on the Agriculture Portfolio. The PCs say that's an extra $200,000 for the new ministers because they get a raise ($40,000). Must piss teachers off. -
No everywhere has dog poo problems. I'm talking sewage. Just an observation from when I walk up and down the Front/Yonge area.

Well he's done. He'll spend the rest of his days a recluse in a Monastery. Will the stink of this scandal follow a Canadian Pope or an African Pope? Especially a decade after it broke and with the safeguards that apparently this Pope to try and prevent it happening again.
