I think what Ford did was dumb. Remember all he had to do was say he was wrong and not be so stubborn. So breaking the law itself didn't get him in hot water. Council didn't even see fit to take him to court, some politically motivated citizen did.

I don't think Ford should be fired. Spencer was never fired but the optics are bad for a head teacher to plagerize. He sort of had to quit.

Hoe are these reforms fraud? If you've filed 3 times in 5 years chances are you aren't using EI for its intended purpose.

The only law he broke was this conflict of interest law. And most believe the punishment for that is severe. It'll probably change soon. As for Spencer, when you're at school plagiarism is one of the worst crimes you can commit. I'm sure if he was in any number of other jobs, he wouldn't have been pressured to quit.

Ford can't be fired like Spencer can. His contract is for four years and the public decides if he gets hired or not.

So I've just learned something. The reason they want the GG present is because these treaties were made with the Crown and not Canada. They want the Crown to step in. I don't know how anyone can debate with people that think this way.

Remember the wage freeze isn't really the issue. It's automatic grid raises, a reduction of sick days to 10 and taking away banked sick days. I don't believe the imposed contract has been made public. So I don't know how the Bill 115 contract deals with those contentious issues. Perhaps MCC can fill us in :-D

EI is insurance. Auto insurance premiums go up up because of fraud. Try getting insurance in the City of Brampton. I would consider someone who only works the minimum required hours they need to claim EI, then taking the rest of the year off as committing fraud. These changes are meant to stamp that out.

Here's my next anti-Apple rant. When told that Android is destroying Apple in market share, iSheep always respond that iPhones, Macs, iPads, have most of the profit because they are "better quality" and more "high-end". You can pretty much get a free smartphone of pretty good quality as long as you're willing to stick with your carrier for multiple years. The Galaxy S2 is comparable to the iPhone 5, the Galaxy S3 is much better than the iPhone 5. There are Android phones set to come out this year that are crazy. Android phones aren't cheaper because they don't have the quality of the iPhone, they're cheaper because Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG etc don't require as much profit from each phone they sell. With both the iPad Mini and, if this rumour is true, the cheaper iPhone, Apple's response to more inexpensive phones is to scale back on the tech, not take less money. It's a tactic that will hurt Apple more and more as time goes on.

Perhaps this is smart. I don't really believe Spence backed out because the GG wasn't going to be there. I think she can't take the heat of being asked about the audit. Now that the GG has been asked to meet with native leaders, she has no excuse but to face the media.
