This idea that only citizens are able to receive due process is quite fascist actually. What if I go to the US as a visitor? Can they send me to El Salvador without any due process? And again. The Trump admin is refusing to release the names of the people that were deported. The only reason we know of the ones that we do is because of pictures. Here's another one. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/01/its-a-tradition-outrage-in-venezuela-as-us-deports-makeup-artist-for-religious-tattoos

How are Canadians liking Donald now?

Wrong thread. -
That's a moronic take. Randomly rounding up people from Lain America is justified because others did something bad. What if it was you? Or someone you loved? Oh because you're a white man, it could never happen to you. Trump's trying to create a fascist state where due process is denied to people he doesn't like.

Conservatives have also found this quite insulting. He's doing well apparently. This is one of those elections where I won't be upset if either party wins. The LPC have move a fair bit to the centre. -

Even if it was, it was deeply insulting and threatening. Friends don't talk like that. Someone, probably Carney, must have finally gotten through to Trump that Canadians are the US's biggest customer and we're steering clear of everything American. AND Canadian energy is not something America can simply do without. Also, what did Trump gain from this? Nothing. Canada hasn't conceded anything yet. All this turmoil only to largely stick to the 2018 deal. He may still destroy the American auto industry, so there's that. -

What are you laughing at? That Trump is "kind of" keeping his word. . . for now. Canadian businesses are still smart to find alternative markets and to make alternative deals. If the US is fickle enough to elect someone who's this erratic then perhaps other markets are worth exploring. The Auto Tariffs are still an issue. Assembly plants on both sides of the border will close if tariffs, that account to their entire profit margin are charged. -

I think you should be honest with yourself and realize the vast majority of the problems we see in the world over the last 5 years could be blamed on the consequences of COVID. Inflation, affordability, debt. Again, not a solely Canadian problem. It's speaks to economic factors that exist beyond the power of any given federal government. Affordability is a big problem in the state of Florida, a place with few regulations and low taxes. I think this is a desperate talking point. He was doing business in the interest of his investment firm. It's just like how the Liberals in Ontario tried to use Dofo's previous support for Trump against him. Things change when bro threatens Canada's independence. I see Carney has been able to do a lot in his small time as leader. And what will PP do? The thing about Trump is that he's the boy that's been crying wolf, punting the ball down the field in order to avoid retaliation. Tomorrow will be very informative on how this Trade War will unfold. That being said, I don't hear him talking about the 51st State much anymore Perhaps, or he know PP is not all that broadly popular and he's comfortable working with the current government.

No, we're looking to elect a highly qualified economic mind. More qualified than a CPC leader that's only qualified at being a political attack dog. Name a developed nation where birth rate and affordability isn't a major problem. The US just elected someone that's goal is to make affordability worse. And he's on the "Conservative" team. Building more homes to reduce prices creates another problem with homeowners that only really have the equity in their home to fall back on because the erosion of pensions and the ability for people to save. I get the hate on for the Liberals, JT was arrogant and stubborn. But he's gone now. I've actually been quite impressed with how the Liberal team is looking to handle the Trump threat. It's telling that the newly elected PC leader in Ontario, Dofo, is refusing to campaign for PP and is more happy to work with the Liberals.

I think one can convey unaffordability without referring to women's reproductive abilities. If incomes had kept up with the price of real estate things might not be so dire. I will say that the Liberal government help in daycare has actually made having a child more affordable. It's a small step but a helpful one.

PP says that the big problem with unaffordable housing is that women can't buy a home before their "biological clock" runs out. Yuck. They would have been better bringing Andrew Scheer back.
-
Carney gets to own the drop in gas prices. Something PP made the cornerstone of his agenda. It's it ironic, dontcha think?

This show is being pegged as the the leader in the Clubhouse as best TV show of the year. British miniseries about a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a classmate. It's impeccably acted and captivated. The above trailer highlights the main conceit of the show. This manosphere, toxic masculinity, incel, Andrew Tate, 80/20 rule etc. As a parent it's terrifying that today's internet is making some kids into monsters that think women are the enemy. The parents are portrayed as, though not perfect, very loving. The internet is the guilty party here and what it does to impressionable minds. It's a show like this that will hopefully make parents be more mindful of what children consume online. Parents need to make children aware of the manosphere and how toxic it is. I think if a parent's child shows an affinity for Andrew Tate, some serious actions need to be taken.

DoFo has said he won't campaign for PP. This will be one of the most historic political collapses in history. PP and the CPC peaked too early. I think Canadians see this group of LPC cabinet ministers as fighting for them. They associate PP with Trumpism. I'm usually a CPC supporter but it'll be a hard sell to make me believe PP can lead this country better than Mark Carney.
