  1. That's actually quite big news. Also evidence of why owning a gun makes domestic murder, MORE LIKELY.
  2. Cite. And even if that's the case these "rare" incidents are uniquely a US problem. Deaths like this are completely preventable by regulated these types of weapons. It's a lot easier to kill your partner with a gun in the house. It's also a lot quicker and easier to kill YOURSELF, if for some reason you feel like that's an option for you. Seems like swimming is a more common activity. And public pools have life guards because of this. In the United States they seem to want as little regulation as possible. No Red Flag Laws, No Background Checks, No limitations on who can obtain an assault style weapons. What are some of the convenient ways one could kill dozens of people? Do we see many instances of mass stabbings or mass car incidents in nations with meaningful gun control?
  3. That's a big assumption The retort that this is all about mental health is completely dismissive of the issue at hand. Other countries have people with mental health issues. NO! developed nations has the epidemic of mass casualty shootings that the US does. It's ironic that you use cars as an alternative example of ways he could have killed people, as the ability to drive a car is highly regulated. Imagine the shrieks of 2nd Amendment infringement if gun owners were legally required to obtain insurance. So what's your solution then? Yes compare use of pronouns with gun violence. That makes you seem sensible.
  4. This dude was military trained. These mass shooters come prepared with lots of ammo. You really want to live in a world where you have to be on guard from people like that everywhere you go? If everyone has a hand gun, then maybe these guys can be stopped after the kill a few people, but then you have the problem of everyone having a gun and simple squabbles end in Gun violence. That's where the vast majority of gun violence happens. In the home, because it's there. https://everytownresearch.org/report/guns-and-violence-against-women-americas-uniquely-lethal-intimate-partner-violence-problem/ Or when a child knows where the gun is hidden: https://injepijournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40621-015-0057-0
  5. I think we all do care about that. It's people that shrug events off like this as lone-wolf or completely unpreventable that don't care. Just the cost of living in Murika, the country of freedom. This will keep happening until Americans highly restrict the use of High-powered semi-automatic weapons. Or assault rifles if you will.
  6. This good guy vs bad guy with a gun goes out the window when the bad guy seems to always have these high-powered rifles when they decide to kill many people. I want to go Bowling on a Wednesday night but better take my Military style weapon incase someone who wants to go out in a blaze of glory shows up. The natural end-point of this logic is expecting that everyone is armed with military style weapons. Hand guns are bad enough but when presented with a guy with a high calibre semi-automatic weapon, you're outgunned.
  7. Sure and those cars exist, with limited infrastructure. I don't know of any places that support Hydrogen Cars in Canada. But honestly. Being able to charge your car at home, when you can, is a game changer. I don't think I'd go back. Where Hydrogen is sold as a fuel source for a car, there isn't much of a savings.
  8. Extracting it is energy intensive and usually requires a fossil fuel source, which is counter productive. If Hydrogen can be produced using green sources, it becomes a viable option.
  9. The Trial hasn't started. She did submit a statement that she regrets the whole thing.
  10. The sight of adults on silly Electric Scooters has risen exponentially.
  11. I think you've invented the Bus. People won't sacrifice the convenience of a private vehicle unless forced to.
  12. Or mandating Remote work were possible. Having Rent-a-Cars available for given trips only works if their availability matches high commuting times. I have to drop my kids off at the sitter/school and head to work in another town at 7:30 am. How does that get done by an automated car considering most of the population is likely doing the exact same thing at the same time.
  13. I don't think it's particularly controversial to ask for a cite on these two claims.
  14. She was doing the media circuit, on behalf of Trum, during the court challenges. I'd like to see how Trump claims he's never met her.
  15. A Jason Aldean fan calling anyone Mediocre. ? Usher is the perfect Elder Millennial demographic for the NFL. Also he's apparently doing a Residency in Vegas, where the Super Bowl is being held.
  16. I totally think that's what was happening during COVID. In my town the Hospital created a field hospital for COVID overflow. As mentioned, getting doctors is a lot easier in places with more people. Do you support telling Doctors where they can set up shop? Cancelling elective procedures was also part of this. My current GP had an office right across the street from my house. That's why I chose him. I moved, but kept him as my GP and he has since moved, to a different town but relatively closer. He once told him he much prefers the new town he's in. I have two young children and I've been to the ER once. And even then I regret going because Urgent Care could take care of most things.
  17. That's good. Fear for the lives of Russians, but eff those Muslims trapped in Gaza! I think Palestine are pawns of the Muslims world to garner public support. But Israel is going to lose the public sympathy card if they destroy Gaza. Not to mention, urban conflict is tough. Lots of Israelis will die as well.
  18. In 2006. Most people in Gaza weren't even of voting age then.
  19. Sure anything can be done with complete disregard to civilian life.
  20. I agree with you but Muslims believe it's their land. The land was given to the Jews by the British. Which God is correct? Because Israel is backed by the west, and more powerful than any of the surrounding countries combined, they're seen as oppressors.
  21. None of the money had been spent, and it can only be spent for humanitarian purposes. This money did not suddenly make this Terrorist attack possible.
  22. Your sarcasm detector is broken. It's not realistic to expect a military to kill millions of people.
  23. Would you be cool with tax money being spent on a system to runs 50% capacity or would you call that government waste? One thing I do remember from COVID is that Health systems had an ability to increase capacity for COVID patients. I think what ya'll are angling for is a separate ER that you can avoid the line, if you pay for it. Which could be argued for but it's tough in Canada to even mention it. I've found Urgent Care as a great service. It's like a Walk-In Clinic but there are some services that a Hospital would have. It's been invaluable as a parent of young kids.
  24. You know that's propaganda you've fallen for right?
