  1. Actually most people in Canada live in Cities. So I dispute that. I've never travelled by car to a vast majority of Canada. I suspect many haven't. Again it's not the intent of the EV. The intent is to charge it at night, and for those that have access to a charger, it works great. The idea of going to a gas station for fuel is just learned behaviour that doesn't need to continue on. I never said it was. Maybe one day, recharging a car will be like getting a Propane Tank. You just swap an empty battery for a changed one. I think that happens in China.
  2. Firefighters also spend a good chunk of their paid time sleeping. Teachers are tasked with educating children. It's an important job. It's ignorant to imply otherwise. Regardless a Cost-of-Living increase is the bare minimum in this climate for any employee, of any job, let alone one with such an important job. A McDonalds employee would laugh at a 1% increase these days.
  3. Spoken like someone with adult children.
  4. You're thinking practically in comparison to the ICE. Where EVs provide some clear advantages. If DC charging time drops to 10 minutes for a trip of 500 km, then we're pretty close to similar experience. But that's only when we consider a trip that's longer than the range of the car. So for most drivers that's relatively rare. The advantages of being able to fuel at home, more than outweigh the inconvenience of waiting 30 minutes for a charge on a road trip, when they happen. I can see a world, similar to how we have it now with Petrol and Diesel, where personal travel is dominated by EVs and long haul (Trucks, Shipping, Airlines) travel is replaced by something like Hydrogen. Hydrogen is still expensive (relative to electricity) and can't be used at home. But the only way Hydrogen makes sense over Gasoline is if it can be produced using Green Energy. Otherwise it's pointless. We aren't there yet either. But we're getting there. I saw a video recently that Spain could could be a leader in Green Hydrogen because they're already somewhat energy independent by they receive so much sunshine.
  5. As mentioned in other threads. His obstruction in Georgia was caught on Tape. He's dead to rights on a lot of these charges. For example in the Classified Documents indictment there's tape of the documents in his place. He's recorded saying he shouldn't have them etc. Trump's only hope is his supporters don't possess critical thought. They just believe this is a targeted political hit job.
  6. The impetus for this thread was hoping Ontario would invest in Charging infrastructure. I took a trip to Prince Edward County over the weekend. Though PEC has zero working fast chargers EnRoute truckstops each have 4 pretty decent ones. They didn't exist when I started the thread. I was anxious that they'd all be used, but I was able to charge when needed. There's going to be a bit of a balancing act when EVs become more popular vs the number of these chargers available. If you are on a road trip and don't have one available, that will cause problems. But most EV owners use them infrequently (and they aren't meant to be used regularly). There's definitely going to be a huge re-training of how re-fuelling works as we enter the EV age. The solution would be more Stage 2 chargers available everywhere so when people go places they can charge when they do their tasks. DC Fast chargers should only be required on Road-Trips.
  7. It's taken me very little training to always have those canvas bags on-hand. I'm actually shocked when I find a place that provides free bags. I'm sure they'll leave empty boxes around like Costco does.
  8. This would go over like a lead balloon. My son is supposed to start school this fall. That being said 1% increases are a bit of a joke considering the inflation we've seen. I would hope the government wouldn't be that cheap-ass. Inflation has most certainly increased their revenue.
  9. Prove anyone ransacking a Target voted for Biden. Dude's in this video are textbook rednecks.
  10. Yeah I'm sure he cared soooo much about Burisma because of corruption. ?
  11. Does "trying that in a small town" include jumping a Riverboat worker? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/aug/07/alabama-montgomery-riverfront-brawl-dock-worker-attacked A dramatic brawl on the Montgomery, Alabama, riverfront pitted people standing up for a Black riverboat worker against a group of white people who began beating him for telling them to move their illegally parked pontoon. The Saturday night fight, which was captured in multiple videos posted to social media, appeared to unfold largely along racial lines. And many social media users celebrated footage of the riverfront dust-up, which showed the white assailants get the tables turned on them by Black people who rushed to the riverboat worker’s aid.
  12. Actually it festered during his administration. The civil war in the disputed regions endured through his entire administration and he used military aide to Ukraine as leverage against the Bidens.
  13. No he's an isolationist. Isolationists only serve to allow despots to make the world worse.
  14. Because he's bought and sold by Putin.
  15. You'd think if the Dems were communist, Americans would have Universal Healthcare by now.
  16. tl;dr Stop copying and pasting from blogs you don't want to link to. Also accusations against the FBI have little to do with what evidence the DoJ have against Trump in this specific indictment. It's just a deflection.
  17. Well if you assume everything written even direct quotes are a lie, why does it matter?
  18. You didn't preface your thread by how Florida should power itself. Florida does have lots of Solar capacity. Natural Gas is a good bridge fuel. It's how a vast majority of Canadians heat their homes currently. Much better than Coal or Oil. Once battery and storage tech improves Solar and Wind will be far more viable to far more people.
  19. Yeah his co-conspirators did. The ones telling him how to try and overturn the election. Can you cite that 99% figure? Or is that more mouth-frothing hyperbole? SEALIONING!!!!
  20. You have a weird way of peddling opinion as fact. It's bizarre.
  21. Or in order of appearance when they're breaking something down. And over 60 court cases told him he didn't. He's trying to influence an elected official to change the result of an election based on debunked conspiracies.
  22. "Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Gimme a break"
  23. Trump is recorded saying it. This would have been the biggest news the week of January 6th had Trump not incited a riot by claiming that Pence could do something illegal and falsely claiming the election was stolen from him.
  24. So it's all one conspiracy. ? Hillary didn't get charged because all the FBI are dems even though the AG was appointed by Trump! You sound like a Flat Earther.
  25. So you're quibbling with the order in which the lies were presented? Nice.
