New York's Deaths per million is Twice any other country. And their cases per million is more than three 3 times the US average. 21,000 cases per million. Italy has just under 4,000. The only country with a worse case/million is Qatar.

In the US, you're seeing spread now that are greater than the original spread in April. If people wear masks in public and continue a level of Social Distancing, you may not see a noticeable spike going forward. There's no evidence that COVID-19 will come back harder in the fall/winter. A second wave can be avoided with behaviour. Europe, Oceana, and Canada have been able to keep new infections down despite re-opening measures. I just checked Italy, their new cases are below even Canada's.
