  1. And when we don't, who suffers from that? Not Canadians. Less than half of Americans even have a passport. No sport has clarity on how it'll be re-opened. Even the NFL.
  2. I'm sure states that depend of foreign tourism don't like that. BTW, I'm curious does the US have 2 week quarantine rules? Because the border really isn't closed. The land border is (Except to Trade), but if I can find a flight into Murika, I still can. Not that I'd want to. The trick is, I have to Quarantine for 2 weeks when I return. That's the biggest issue involving NHL and MLB returns. It's actually a lot safer for the Blue Jays to play in Toronto than Dunedin, but they need an exception for the 2 week rule.
  3. Keep up these numbers and it will. Closed to Europe and the rest of the developed world as well. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/06/24/882801218/eu-could-bar-u-s-travelers-due-to-ongoing-rise-in-covid-19-cases
  4. Since 2017, it's rarely parked.
  5. More Blindspots. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/25/health/california-coronavirus-cases-surge/index.html
  6. Trainwrecks are, most certainly, fascinating. So is talking about them.
  7. You mean the Bill of Rights and Freedoms passed by his father?
  8. Except in places that they aren't. You Americans really love culture wars.
  9. So much worse than putting family members in your own administration.
  10. You means states within a nation.
  11. Snowbirds don't go anywhere right now.
  12. This really isn't about debating anything, it's just about a Canadian criticizing America.
  13. You really think getting the virus under control just happens? The shutdowns and Social Distancing guidelines had to happen first. Perhaps, if they start taking the virus seriously. You know that Blindspot the Texas Gov is talking about.
  14. Brazil's President mocked the virus and now see where Brazil is.
  15. Yes, but places like New York, Spain, Italy. AND! Ontario and Quebec present the playbook on how to get the virus under control. Putting your head in the sand and blame the numbers on testing is not helpful.
  16. So what's the point there? My point is that New York was probably one of, if not the worst places hit in the world. How is that controversial? I had thought California had dealt with the disease very well. Here's a good article about where the spikes are coming from. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-06-24/4-suburban-california-counties-behind-dangerous-spike-in-covid-19-hospitalizations SAN FRANCISCO —
  17. New York's Deaths per million is Twice any other country. And their cases per million is more than three 3 times the US average. 21,000 cases per million. Italy has just under 4,000. The only country with a worse case/million is Qatar.
  18. New York was, perhaps, the worst hit place in the world. Mostly due to travel. But they've flattened the curve. For a good month and a half now, actually.
  19. That irresponsible Governor trying to keep his citizens safer!!!
  20. Parroting the Bill Maher line. That's cool. But when you say "isolate the vulnerable", I suspect you also mean people with a certain BMI as well as people of a certain age.
  21. Kay. Blindspot by who? The Republican Governor?
  22. That was never the policy. They brought in the Military to assist. Deflecting to the Canadian blindspot from early in the outbreak doesn't negate the current dire situation in the US's three most populous states. If letting the virus spread is the policy, then why is the Texas Governor telling people to stay home? Perhaps to Flatten the Curve? I've heard that before, haven't I?
  23. That's the policy? Someone better tell the Governor of Texas. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-06-24/houston-on-pace-to-exceed-intensive-care-capacity-by-tomorrow
  24. In the US, you're seeing spread now that are greater than the original spread in April. If people wear masks in public and continue a level of Social Distancing, you may not see a noticeable spike going forward. There's no evidence that COVID-19 will come back harder in the fall/winter. A second wave can be avoided with behaviour. Europe, Oceana, and Canada have been able to keep new infections down despite re-opening measures. I just checked Italy, their new cases are below even Canada's.
  25. Well you're quoting a story from a few months ago. Much has been done to help spread in LTC Homes. Even in the US, LTC has been a problem. It's a closed environment filled with all people at risk of death from COVID. What's being done to stop community Spread in the Southern US? In fact some God fearing people are actually playing defence to stopping the spread. https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2020/06/24/mask-mandate-florida-anger-erupts-coronavirus-vpx.cnn
