Did you align your son’s entire life so that he had to be a cowboy when he grew up, just because that’s what he said when he was 3? Did you start to make irreversible decisions at that point which excluded him from all else? Did you pull him out of school and teach him how to catch greased pigs and get him to do mutton bustin’ five days a week so that his only choice was to be a cowboy, based on his assertion that he wanted to be a cowboy when he was 3? I really hope not, because if you did then that was just extreme stupidity on your part. Kids get all sorts of crazy ideas when they’re three. You don’t take a scalpel to their genitalia or start giving them hormone therapy when they’re three years old. Their life opinions at that age mean absolutely nothing.

America under President Trump
WestCanMan replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There's one group of people who have gone bonkers with Russian conspiracy accusations and it's not the Republicans or Fox News. Wake up and smell the coffee. According to the NYT, which is decidedly in the back pocket of the Dems, Vindman was "advising the Ukranians" while he was working in the Whitehouse. That's exceptionally worrisome wording, if accurate. I don't have access to the other side of the NYT paywall and I never will, so I can't quote them verbatim. If you could that would be nice. The problem is.... Democrats. "Everything Trump did was the absolute worst!" They're flat out moronic. The USA is in a golden age where they're standing up to awful Chinese trading practices, their economy is still on the upswing, they're not getting involved in any new wars, islamic state is no longer a landowner 5 years ahead of Obama's timeline, etc, etc and the Dems and CNN still haven't said a single positive word about Trump. It's an enormous joke. Just three years ago the USA was in their third straight year of rioting, looting, arson, anthem protests and cop-killing. Now people are too busy working to get involved in any of that crap. THANKS TRUMP! Go to hell Pelosi/Schiff, etc. -
Almost everyone who has a speaking gig at CNN is a stone cold moron, and I'm pretty sure that they do speak for the left. Forgive me for considering CNN and CBC talking points to be representative of liberal opinions. Don't try and tell me what I think about muslims eyeball, you're just not on the level where you truly understand anything.
-
Exactly. And at 7, 8, 9.... not all kids know what they're going to want once they reach puberty.
-
This whole thing about parents giving their kids the right to choose is fine for them if that's what they want to do their kids. In some places (for example Ont here: https://www.todaysparent.com/kids/school-age/young-children-need-to-learn-gender-identity/ ) there's a big debate about how and when the school board should take over the topic of gender bending. The fact that they want to talk about it is fine, but they'll need my permission to talk to my kid about it and the answer is already no. (I also told him that if they want to talk to him about human-induced climate change he gets the day off school. YAY!) The state can teach my kid math and physics all day but they're not allowed to force feed my kid their opinions like he's some Berkelchurian Candidate.

1) Just because his name is Tory doesn't make him a Conservative. 2) Muslims aren't actually liberals, unless you call Saudi Arabia and Pakistan liberal. 3) Sex isn't binary, but gender is, naturally.
-
I personally object to the notion that anything righties ever say is wrong, but I'll humour you. What are some examples of things which awesome righties mistakenly blame on lame lefties? There are bars where you can sort things out in the washrooms if that's your thing.
-
LMAO. You don't even know what censorship is and yet you're here pontificating about it? Objecting to something, calling someone out on something, and getting it censored are entirely different things. An angry mob of people making threats in order to stop other people from gathering isn't even censorship, it's fascism. Gender is binary. That's a scientific fact regarding mammals. There are differences in sexual orientation, there's gender dysphoria, some people can identify as unicorns if they want, but actual gender is still binary regardless of what the howling masses of left wingers think. WCM - always right is in there somewhere if you look hard enough. You're actually trying to change a definition that has stood for centuries, which is scientifically proven - based entirely upon multitudes of easily observable characteristics, all of which distinguish between exactly two different genders in every single mammalian species, and you're trying to claim that the science is on your side? Science isn't subject to the whim and fancy of leftists. Giraffes didn't magically start being born with 3 or 4 or 18 different genders when the LGBT community started to gain their rights, freedoms and popularity (thanks to that culture which is based upon a constitution created by those old white males). Who's the howling mass? Only one group that's either participating in the conversation here or mentioned in the OP's article qualifies as "a howling mass". It's the mob of angry idiots that's storming public places to stop legal gatherings of people. Aren't you glad that I'm here to give you all the easy answers just so that you don't go off making a fool of yourself in public?

If it was just the women's bathroom that would be one thing. It's the little girls' room too. In a country like this, where pervs just do a bit of time and get out of jail to reoffend, what's to stop a guy from claiming that he's a woman just to get into the little girls' room? If they're going to have men going into the women's bathroom then they need a separate room for girls 17 and under. Or something.

1) There's no actual "whistleblower". That person was already a Dem asset because they had a working relationship with Schiff before they filed their paperwork. That's what they remain today - a Dem asset. 2) The dog's identity was protected by protocols that are in place to protect the identity of US soldiers. The US military doesn't automatically release the names of soldiers who are involved in spec ops. Buy a clue. Trump isn't doing anything wrong by withholding the name of the dog. You put something incorrect together with something else that was incorrect and you thought that you had +2. You have an education? You must play football. Your "education" failed you on both counts here, as usual, and your grammar & math also suck. -
First off, the PPC isn't as bad as you say it it is. The main problems with the PPC are that 1) Bernier said that he wouldn't go against the CPC and that turned out to be a lie, and 2) that they were splitting the conservative vote. They were in favour of less immigration, but there's nothing wrong that. There are high costs associated with immigration and the same people who don't want increases in immigration are also against abortion and increased education costs, etc. Those last things have nothing to do with racism. Secondly, you're not in a position to be throwing the B word around until you can express some reasonable & positive sentiments towards Israel, Jews, and western society in general.

America under President Trump
WestCanMan replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There was nothing inaccurate about the meme that I posted. The post I was responding to was just another pathetic example of childish, baseless, anti-Trump screed and the meme was mildly offensive but right on point. Your response was to post a lie. That's not the same thing at all. Maybe you should re-consider what you believe in if you constantly have to lie in order to "make a point". -

We do need to get a handle on all of the racist division scams that are going on now. The leftists like to act like it's a "no harm, no foul" situation (hijab hoax girl and Jussie Smollet, 2 known crimes, zero dollars in fines, zero days in jail, just a $10,000 bond was forfeited) but it's clearly not.
-
FYI Jim, indicting people when you don't have the evidence to get a conviction isn't a good idea unless you're a Dem and you have control over 90% of the MSM. The Dems take a huge swing and a miss every 4 months and not even one of their sycophants has even noticed yet. Do you know what I'm talking about? Didn't think so. The "Trump slime", as you so childishly put it, is imaginary. Do you think that the Clintons, that you would have loved to see in the WH again, don't have their own "Manafort and Cohen"? What do you think CNN would say if Hillary was accused of something, for which no evidence had ever been found, and then one of her people was convicted for something that had nothing to do with her and the FBI offered that person ten years off their sentence just to fabricate testimony against her? You'd say "Hey, you're only allowed to do that to Trump!"

Proportional Representation Discussion
WestCanMan replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Quick blurb about "Proportional Representation" regarding the weight of each vote cast: Maritimes & Newf Population: 2.33M Seats 32 pop/seat 72K Que Pop: 8.5M Seats 78 pop/seat 110K Ont Pop: 14.6M Seats 121 pop/seat 120K Alberta Pop: 4.3M Seats 34 pop/seat 126K If you used a formula that said that every 100K people should get one seat: Alberta gets .79 of that, Ont gets .82 of that, Que gets .91 of that, Atl voters get 1.27 of that. A Maritimer's vote is actually worth 1.27 votes, and Albertan gets .79 of a vote, so essentially a Maritime voter gets (1.27 divided by .79) 1.6 votes compared to each Albertan. -

I appreciate that you're stepping up with facts and information, but the difference between these business deals and Hunter Biden's business deals is as stark as it could possibly be. 1) Hunter Biden was gifted a position on the board of a company that we would both admit was investigated for corruption, in a country where his father was extremely busy overseeing the corruption investigations because of his position as VPOTUS. Hunter had no prior experience working in the Ukraine, he didn't speak Ukrainian, he had no experience working in the oil and gas industry, and he had his own large company to run in the USA at the time. His hiring had absolutely nothing to do with his ability to contribute to Burisma in a meaningful way and he made a base salary of $50,000 per month. Hunter and Joe both claimed that Joe didn't know about the job and that they had never talked about the job, and then the photo came out with Joe, Hunter and another Burisma board member which forced the Bidens to admit that they had in fact talked a bit about Burisma. Dems were infuriated by the picture coming out, and were not concerned at all about the fact that the Bidens had actually lied about their communications and knowledge of the Burisma job. How fishy is that on a scale of 1-10? IMO it's a 10.000. 2) The Trumps were doing the same business that they were doing before Trump got hired. They had extensive prior experience in the industries in question, they aren't undertaking new real estate projects that weren't started before Trump became POTUS, there's no obvious language barrier to them doing what they're doing, they didn't take any jobs from more deserving people who live in those countries, and they have only provided actual merchandise/real estate that was of value consistent with the amount of money that they received for it. You could make the case that Ivanka's jewelry gets boosted value and attention due to Trump's new position but they always reaped the benefits of the Trump brand, and it's debatable if his job of POTUS has raised or diminished the value of a jewelry company with his name on it. How fishy is all this on a scale of 1-10? IMO it's as low as it could be. There's only so much that they can be required to do to stunt their personal family business while they're involved in the Whitehouse. In all honesty Rue, do you see more similarities between Hunter and the Jr. Trumps and their business dealings or do you see more glaring differences? -

The call did not have a quid pro quo at all, that's another lie. Mulvaney made a generalization. Taylor said that a question was asked. That's not the same as saying that a declaration was made. That's another lie. Trump's comment didn't go that far. Those are all the false CNN narratives that sucked you in. You literally never learn. There's a video of Biden describing the exact nature of his quid pro quo. His son was absolutely a part of the board of that company. An investigation definitely would have turned up the exact sleazy nature of his hiring there. Not one single person on this planet thinks he got that job on his ow merits. Even you know it but as usual you won't admit it. -
America under President Trump
WestCanMan replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
lf there was some compelling reason to believe that was true then you might be on to something, but your assumption of the President's motivation amounts to no more than speculation. Biden is almost 99.9% certain to have been guilty of influence peddling in at least two countries. There are plenty of obvious reasons for wanting to get that investigated, and all Trump asked for was an investigation. Not a result. So he's not an actual whistleblower because of the nature of the way that he revealed himself and how he is actually working with the Democrat party. He's a Democrat asset. He's Schiff's puppet. That's a complete fabrication. Trump asked for an investigation which was completely warranted when Biden bragged about using American governmental influence to affect an investigation which had huge implications for himself and his immediate family. Biden's guilt and his quid pro quo are undeniable facts. Trump's motivation for an investigation is pure speculation. He knew a crime was committed. That's reason enough for an investigation. Of course they're just a first step. A long, drawn out first step in an ongoing smear campaign that is a clone of the Russian collusion investigation, the obstruction accusations, the Ford/Kavanaugh accusations, the obvious recession, the sudden rise of racism since 2017 (they never noticed two years worth of race riots and cop killings) etc. This is what Dems do. They get their idiotic base riled up about false crimes and false narratives to distract from the fact that the governance of the country is actually far more solid than it was from '08-'16. America is coming out miles and miles ahead right now plus they're taking on China economically. They don't have soldiers dying anywhere. No new wars of attrition have started. There is a person who is trying to use whistleblower status to leak information with the protection that whistleblowers are supposed to get but he hasn't followed proper protocols to maintain whistleblower status. He (or she) filled out a form requiring information about what members of government he had talked to and neglected to mention that he was working with Adam Schiff at the time. The whistleblower lied about it, Adam Schiff lied about it. Once again Boges you're pushing false narratives (plural - 1 Biden is above suspicion (there's a 99% chance he's quite guilty), 2 the informant is a "whistleblower" (doesn't qualify), 3 you know the one reason why Trump asked for an investigation, 4 you know the one and only reason why Trump withheld a second round of military aid, 5 Trump had no right to delay the military aid, 6 Trump only allowed the military aid to be sent because of the whistleblower, 7 this is a serious impeachment inquiry which has a chance of resulting in impeachment and not a smear campaign) which come from sources who, by legal standards which are the same all across the commonwealth and every civilized country on earth including America, have already blown their credibility in this matter. You're also pushing another CNN narrative (Charlie Brown vs the football). That's stupid. All of the narratives you are pushing are false, pure speculation, or just plain stupid. -

Lol. Trump won the election. Got rid of islamic state. Got his tax cuts passed. Repealed the individual mandate penalty. Got American troops out of war zones. Turkey announced a permanent cease-fire. Beat the collusion crap. Beat the obstruction crap. Got two SCJs appointed. Stood up to China on trade yet US exports are up by $60 billion. Got out of the Paris Climate Accord. Got NATO allies to increase spending by $70B/year. Middle-class take-home pay is up by $6,000 per year after less than 3 years (Obama - $1K after 8 years). Lowest unemployment rate ever. Dow Jones 34% higher than ever before. Veterans care is far better than ever before. Moved the Embassy to Jerusalem. Built more wall. I wish our PM could play checkers. He paid a terrorist $10M. Let islamic state terrorists (he called them "fighters") walk free here to "be a powerful voice against radicalization". Killed $135 Billion in investment in Alberta. 150,000 jobs lost in Alberta. Got caught in 4 ethics violations. Created a law to allow the criminal entity known as SNC (the company that bribed a Liberal politician $2.3M just for a $127M bridge contract) access to federal contracts. Put undue pressure on the AG to use his DPA law for SNC (the same company I just mentioned had bribed a Liberal politician $2.3M just for a $127M bridge contract). Fired the AG for not using his DPA law on behalf of SNC (the company that I mentioned a couple of times bribed a Liberal politician $2.3M just for a $127M bridge contract). Blocked the RCMP from investigating SNC properly (did I mention that they bribed a Liberal politician $2.3M just for a $127M bridge contract, and that Trudeau has offshore tax haven accounts and SNC has overseas affiliates?). Called the Japanese President Chinese. Twice. Brought a terrorist to dinner in India. Blamed India. Switched his family from plastic water bottles to paper, uh plastic, uh paper water uh box thingies. Gave $1.4 Billion of our taxpayer dollars to CBC and "select" media outlets to help his re-election campaign. Sent out a tweet that our borders were open and then said that it wasn't his fault that so many people crossed. Jumped on the obviously fake hijab hoax like a Leftist on a Soylent Green Bar and denigrated Canadians for their racist behaviour. Re-denigrated (new word) Canadians after he found out that the hijab hoax was fake. Refused to condemn a hate rally in Toronto.
