More Critism about Canada from the US and the world...

No, you're painting an inaccurate picture of Israel, and you don't want to compare that situation to the situation in Pakistan because that will expose your blatant hypocrisy, which will in turn prove that you're just a bigot. If you're truly a humanitarian then it just takes one second for you to say what an evil, bigoted state Pakistan is and then you can get back to your criticism of Israel with at least a bit of credibility. -
Should the Conservative Party become liberals?
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Theoretically that's the role of the media, law enforcement and the judicial branches, but the media is the key to it all. As long as people don't hold their media accountable then government overreach and obstruction in the other branches will just keep getting worse, to the detriment of our society. -
America under President Trump

I agree that it has finally gotten to that point. I think that the IG Report which finally shed light on all of the FBI skullduggery was a huge turning point for Americans. Before that point there were some minor wins and losses on both sides, Trump had the biggest win because the investigation eventually had to come out and admit that there was no real evidence of collusion, but that investigation didn't have official witch hunt status imo until the depths of the FBI treachery was revealed. Now everyone in America knows for certain just how little integrity the Dems and their MSM really have. It's at the point where 90% of Americans know what's going on and the Dems have support from the truly idiotic 10% plus the 30% who still try to live in denial. In the next election the Republican voters will be amped, they will have the majority of the support from the independents, and the weak Dem candidates will suffer heavily from voter apathy. I hope that Trump gets an even bigger election win next time. If he doesn't then the Dems will never learn a lesson from this and America is doomed to keep going through this sort of thing. -

Dude if you want to talk about slaughter and oppression then start off with the topic of Pakistan, where 10,000,000 people were killed in religious-bigotry-spawned violence and where hundreds of thousands of women were systematically raped as part of another genocide. If you can state a properly damning indictment of the behaviour of the Pakistani people then I'll listen to what you have to say about Palestine. If you can't then you're a bigot and your opinion is completely worthless. -

The fact that the Israelis have to arrest children is just evidence of the sickening way that the Palestinians use their children as religiously-bigoted political pawns. -
America under President Trump
WestCanMan replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I agree, but I'd say that the media is either pro-Trump or ridiculously anti-Trump. I say that because the anti-Trumpers have been making things up and sensationalizing falsehoods now for years and I don't find that the pro-Trump media is engaging in anything of the sort, at all. From the anti-Trump side, Van Jones admitted to knowing that Russian collusion was a big nothingburger over a year before the collusion delusion was exposed. That's a heluva long time to keep publishing hyperbolic, vitriolic fake news (lying and slandering). What's worse than the fake news that's coming out of the left is the slick, underhanded way in which their propaganda is packaged to turn their unwitting viewers into useful idiots. They use emotionally-charged photos and videos to convert their bogus stories into long-term memories, and then even if they have to backtrack later (they do it as subtly as possible), the bias that they have created remains. The parts of the news which don't fit their narrative are down-played or just omitted altogether. Case in point, the CNN viewers' complete lack of awareness of the FBI corruption that was central to the perpetuation & seeming significance of the collusion investigation. Devin Nunes had briefed the whitehouse on Russia's intent to influence the election long before the 2016 election, when Nunes was the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, but Obama's whitehouse laughed it off. The FBI was aware that the dossier was crap when they submitted it to the FISA court as verified. Yet CNN pretends that this Russian collusion is the Republicans' fault and Trump was actually guilty, etc, etc. I'm old-skool, and to me an unsubstantiated allegation is heinous, and a knowingly-false accusation is asking for a serious beating. Every Trump-related CNN story contains one of those two elements. -
Should the Conservative Party become liberals?
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think that we'd all agree that "Canadian conservatives" are Liberals from a global perspective. They are even more liberal that the liberals in some key areas like freedom of speech and gun ownership. A also agree that the "Liberals" are becoming "socialists". I was under the impression that I was going to vehemently disagree with the content of the OP when I read the title but I find that it's quite thought-provoking and also an accurate & damning assessment of the current state of "Liberal" politics in Canada. Some of us political laymen would even call the Libs fascists lol. -
1) I agree with you that not everyone who considers themselves to the right of center is 100% behind Trump. They don't necessarily all understand clearly what's going on here. For the vast majority though, conservatives have a far better understanding of what's going on than leftists and they support Trump for obvious reasons. 2) Trump admitted to making a face-to-face meeting with him contingent upon the Ukraine conducting legitimate investigations into a person who bragged about committing a crime in Ukraine and a CRIME WHICH WAS PERPETUATED AGAINST TRUMP himself. Juxtapose that beside the Dems COVERTLY PAYING RUSSIANS through a law firm for BOGUS intel which was LIED ABOUT in a FISA court to obtain warrants to spy on A POLITICAL OPPONENT to influence an election, and then used AS A PUBLIC SMEAR CAMPAIGN DISGUISED AS AN INVESTIGATION. Take your time to go over all of the underlined parts, all of which are declarative statements which can easily be fact-checked, and get back to me on the parts which you think are inaccurate or misleading. Feel free to add any important points which you feel I omitted. All the actual facts re against you on this Rue. I'd just let this one go if I was in your untenable position.

CNN viewers, Dems, the FBI and their sheep are the only ones back-pedalling right now. Every single fact that's coming out into the open right now backs every single thing that I've been saying ever since the beginning of the collusion investigation. Try and dig up some of my old posts to contradict me if you want. Look back on Ukrainian quid pro quo, russian collusion, Kavanaugh/Ford or anything you want eyeball. I have hundreds of posts on those topics. I don't even have to dig into old threads to find examples of you being blatantly wrong, you won't find anything that I need to retract. I told ya so x 1,000. Read my posts and learn eyeball. Amaze people with your sudden burst of wisdom and insights. Or just stay you, it's kind of entertaining.

Eyeball you have literally no clue how important the media actually is, and how much damage their bias causes. Our country is stuck with the worst PM in the last 30 years because of media bias, and he has good reason to feel like his ethics breaches and undemocratic tendencies are a-ok because the media will cover for him. It's just as bad to have state-controlled media here as it is in Venezuela or Iran.

I think that's funny, borderline hilarious, but I don't think it's serious at all. Trump also joked about asking Russia to find the 33,000 missing emails, and that was funny, but some people pretended that it constituted treason. Whatever. Trump is accomplishing enough in this term that his stolen time" argument wouldn't stand up even if he actually did try it.

If I testified in court with as many intentional inaccuracies as the FBI did in this FISA process for sure it would be considered criminal activity. If I did this kind of lying in sworn testimony in an attempt to remove a sitting President from office you bet it would be considered treasonous. Now that you know the definition of treason, can you see how it applies? If FBI agents went after Obama with such a pathetic pack of lies and omissions, based on a dossier compiled by Trump, Pelosi and Schumer would just instantly explode in a fit of righteous anger. The hypocrisy here is astounding.

It seems like information is slow to get to you for some reason. It's out there, and everyone else seems to know about it. You're just oblivious. Yet you still opine as if you're an authority on the subject. Strzok was demoted and removed from the farcical investigation, Comey was fired and has just recently admitted that his actions at the FISA court were unacceptable, there's already talk that McCabe might be charged criminally, and the investigation into the investigators is just getting started. From CNBC: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/12/ex-fbi-deputy-director-andrew-mccabe-loses-bid-to-avoid-prosecution.html

Even CNN can't escape the discussion that the actions of the FBI were totally unacceptable: https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/17/politics/fisa-court-slams-fbi-conduct/index.html This information is hard to miss if you're following the story eyeball, and seeing as you're posting about it I would assume that you are? Am I wrong? If you are following it, the fact that you are still clinging to your original opinions is just unfathomable. You're either entirely ignorant or incredibly stupid, because there's only 1 correct interpretation of this: THE FBI WAS JUST COMPLETELY DISGRACED TO THE POINT WHERE A FISA COURT JUDGE HAS STARTED TO DOUBT THE CREDIBILITY OF EVERYTHING THEY'VE EVER DONE WITH THE BUREAU. This is no joke eyeball. You just lose credibility every time you post something. It's like you're a bot that belches idiocy just to keep threads going.

Don't put words in my mouth eyeball. I agree with the fake news part - anyone who doesn't is a complete idiot. I can prove the fake news part. The part about the media being actively a part of some kind of "deep state" isn't true though imo. I don't think that Trump has made that accusation and none of the places that I get my news from make the direct link between media and the deep state. The media are, for the most part, just a bunch of insipid Dem toadies who don't think for themselves and always err on the side of "jumping on the bandwagon with anyone who makes an accusation". 1) I don't think that there's a firmly-entrenched, well-established deep state in the way that you seem to think there is, but I do think that there are a lot of slimy, underhanded Dems who will sink to any level to get elected. 2) I think that most of the members of the media are legitimately sucked-in by the Dems. The Dems use words like slavery and racism to elicit overpowering emotions in people who are either marginalized because they're illegal aliens or they've been bullied or they're minorities who live in poverty or they're just inherently decent people who only follow the headlines and don't follow politics closely enough to really understand what's going on. If I just followed the headlines and watched CNN/CBC I'd believe that Trudeau was the be-all, end-all and that the CPC were just a bunch of snow-white racists, I'd believe that Kavanaugh's rape allegation had a solid foundation of evidence, that SNC was just a combination of a misunderstanding and Trudeau's altruistic nature, and that there was evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. Why wouldn't I? The blatant idiocy going on down in the States is the Russian collusion BS that Nadler just referenced again two days ago when he said words to the effect that "impeachment needs to move forward because of the risk that Trump reoffends in 2020". The Dems truly are a pathetic bunch of people. The bias was real FYI. The texts, which were just people's honest thoughts, shared privately with others whom they trusted, are 100% conclusive evidence that the lead investigator and his crew FELT completely biased against Trump. The fact that 17 significant errors and omissions all tilted in the exact same way is 100% conclusive evidence that there was a bias pointing in one direction. If you flip a coin 17 times there's only a 1/65,000 chance that you will get either heads or tails 17 times in a row. And that's assuming that the FBI only had a 50/50 chance of being right. There's better than a 50% chance that an FBI agent gets it right when they're uncertain of something but have a strong enough hunch to risk using something as evidence in court. So the fact that the FBI members showed that they felt strongly biased against Trump, and the fact that the evidence that the biased FBI agents provided showed an immense bias against Trump, would lead any honest, intelligent person to believe that there was a bias which was allowed to run it's course.

There's a big difference between "deep-state" and "biased media coverage", and I'm not going to go out on a limb and make an accusation that I can't prove. I'll say for certain that CNN is a total farce of a media outlet, they have no dedication to the truth whatsoever, and they primarily see news stories as an opportunity to further their political narrative instead of just covering them with all the accurate and pertinent information that's available to them. They are in no way, shape or form an actual, honest media outlet. Period. They have absolutely no integrity whatsoever. If CNN wanted to charge me with Libel for saying that I could easily defend myself in court. Deep state? There's no way I could prove that. I'll say what I know to be true and you can make whatever determinations you'd like. I won't touch that accusation with a ten foot pole. Trump has the inside scoop on what accusations he wants make because, for example, when they say things like "Trump colluded with Russians to win the election" he instantly knows if it's false. So when Schiff, other Dems, or the various left-wing MSM outlets say "new bombshell evidence is coming out that proves Trump colluded with Russia, he's on the threshhold of impeachment" he can know it's a lie the moment they say it. I have to keep an open mind about it, but I can make an educated guess based on their extensive history of lying that it's most likely BS. Trump also has more access to the information about things like FISA abuse than I do, and he will also have a better idea of how much he can trust the people he's talking to. I just have to learn as I go. If Van Jones wasn't caught on tape two years ago casually stating that "collusion is a big nothingburger" then I wouldn't come out and say that I knew CNN was lying. But he had the inside scoop on what they all knew at CNN, he had no reason to lie at that moment, and what he said seemed to jive with all of the information that was coming out which was verifiable at that point in time. CNN talking heads kept saying that something that would prove collusion was right around the corner, day after day for almost 3 full years, and it never came. CNN and the other MSM sources were caught in a number of lies and retractions during that 3 yr span which just further destroyed their credibility. Fake news - 100.00%. Is the media part of the deep state? I have no proof, at all. They could just be stooges.
