Its official, Trump broke the law
WestCanMan replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The people who demand transparency with Trump are dead certain that no light ever shines on Biden's obvious crimes. Period. Schiff and Hunter are both important witnesses in this case because Schiff made the key distinction that Trump was "digging up dirt", which is only true if there was no actual crime that was worthy of investigation - even though the appearance of a crime is overwhelming. Go ahead and ask for fairness all around or stop complaining. No one likes a hypocrite. -
I'm extremely concerned about scandals which politicians are certain to have had a hand in. Things that happen somewhere in the country which could possibly benefit them and look fishy don't rise to the level of calling them guilty. If 600 people in your riding all make a donation to your election do you have to find out if a group of 20 of them all work in the same place, or if they all have kids that made a certain BBall team or got into a certain college? Give me a break. SNC was a scandal. Trudeau's own hands are all over it. The fact that someone got their employees to make donations doesn't necessarily incriminate anyone, even if it's JT himself. I could rig that up easily to get someone disqualified.

I don't care about P P, Brad Wall would be my first choice. Re: bribing employees, I don't think that a politician can stop a business owner from bribing his employees to make campaign donations. If I start bribing people to vote for Trudeau and I get "caught" does that mean that Trudeau can't run for PM anymore? Makes no sense.

TBH jacee, I don't know why you'd be against Harper on this anyways. Part of what Harper was after was keeping people who deserve to be in jail, in jail. Just think about the people responsible for killing all the missing aboriginal women. When guys like that come up for parole, etc, it puts the grieving families right back at square one. They don't just start worrying the day they come up for parole, they're stressed out for years prior.
-
TBH, who wants to join the party of M. Waters, AOC, Tlaib, Omar, Schumer, Schiff, Warren, Sanders etc? How embarassing.

Huh? The same polls that predicted Hillary's massive win also have Biden and everyone else in the Dem field beating Trump head-to-head. It's hard for the Dems to act like they need a new challenger. Buuuut.... if there's a surprise challenger to be feared it's actually Oprah imo. No joke. She would instantly have the black vote, the female vote, the snowflake vote, she has her own tv network (as if she needs one, CNN is already a full-time propaganda network) and she has the cash to wage a massive election battle. She might even have un-released video from her interviews with Trump that might be unflattering. If Oprah announced her candidacy, I'd be concerned. Even if she throws her entire weight behind a candidate I'll be worried. I'm not worried at all about Hillary or any of the sad sack losers in the dem Primary battle right now.

C'mon Rue, that's not even a reply it's a platitude. Trump has a lot to show for 3 years as POTUS and you know it. The widespread rioting, looting and arson that went on for most of 2014, all of 2015 and all of 2016 came to an end (Dems didn't even notice). Cop-hating is no longer America's favourite passtime. Isis is no longer a landholder, and that occurred in 1/5th of Obama's predicted timeline. Assad learned the hard way not to gas civilians. USA up 1-0. Syria and Russia warned the US not to do that again. Syria gassed more civilians, learned their final lesson, Syria and Russia completely failed to back up their previous threats. USA up 2-0. Iran learned the hard way not to attack Americans. The top two terrorists from islamic state are dead. The top two generals from Quds force (terrorists) dead. Hardly any US soldiers died in the past 3 years. 200 Russian soldiers were killed while advancing on a US base, Putin did squat Record low unemployment for women, blacks and hispanics. Wages going up by significantly more than Obama or bush. No new wars. Trade deals with China to protect intellectual property (even Chuck Schumer praised that). NATO spending is up. Wall is being built. Mexico is stopping illegals at their southern border. Tax cuts. Individual mandate gone. Military Aid went to Ukraine both before and after the phone call to Zelenski US Recession was just a Dem/CNN lie, there's no recession Stock market up by more than 50% now in just 3 years - record high by 9,000 points. Etc, etc. After 3 years, the US hasn't had any major setbacks, they've improved dramatically on several fronts. Biden/Obama = the rise of Isis, 3 years of rioting-looting-arson-copkilling America, Benghazi, the implementation of massive amounts of drone strikes, legalizing collateral damage and deaths to civilians caused by drone strikes, Biden tried to put the brakes on the attack that killed Bin Laden, Biden's kid hauled in barrels full of loot from Ukraine and China, no military aid for Ukraine, Crimea attacked with no response, Ukraine attacked with no response, etc, etc. With the benefit of hindsight, Trump walked all over Iran, Syria, Islamic State, and Russia these past 3 years. When they cross lines they pay bigtime and they don't retaliate. The US got rag-dolled while Obama was potus. Red lines were crossed and nothing happened, Iran got billions and kept moving towards nukes, islamic state grew from a Jr Varisty terrorist squad to one of the 100 largest countries on earth, etc. You lose 1,000 to negative 10 Rue. That's bad, unless you're CNN. Then it's just another day.

It's too bad for him that his parents brainwashed him into that religion, but he was a terrorist and there are lots of kids under the age of 16 who can carry a gun or a bomb and paying them off isn't sending the right message, unless you're Trudeau and you like Terrorists.

1) Judges ruled to increase the power of the judiciary, what a shocker. 2) you obviously don't know what a dictatorship looks like 3) I thought that you didn't like Canada, and white people (if you cry racism I'll just copy and paste your racist comments again so don't bother). Why are you suddenly so supportive of what a couple of old white dudes said and did? Is this a turning point for you?
-
Lmao jacee. If you read over that accusation again it's laughable: 1) why would people 'have to be forced to do it' if they were getting extra money for it? Can you honestly say that they were forced? How so? Don't you just mean they were bribed? 2) How did this come back on him? Was he proven to be a part of the scam? 3) I googled it and I think it probably should have come up on P1 if it was really a thing. I got results like him being mad at elections Canada for letting SNC and the Libs off the hook for a $100K scam, there were a few places where it mentioned the NDP were busted for scams like that, that was it. 4) Trudeau just got re-elected after doing several things that were far worse than that, so why would you say that such a scam, if it ever really happened, would put him out of the running? 5) Our finances couldn't possibly be any more screwed than they are. If Polievre runs a decent budget and just outright steals $3 billion we'll still be $10-15 Billion ahead of Trudeau on a good year.

l agree this impeachment is bullshit. I wasn't in favour of Clinton being impeached either and I still don't think he should have been, removing a President from office is too big of a deal - de-stabilizing the planet over a piece of ass (and felony witness tampering and lying under oath) is too extreme. Having said that, now that I'm more aware of all of the credible accusations of rape and sexual harassment that there were against Bill Clinton, I don't think that he should have ever made it to the oval office to begin with. It's also sad that Trump and Hillary made it to the leadership of their parties. Honestly this impeachment is a black eye on all forms of democratic governance. For people to stand in Congress and the Senate and openly lie, over and over again, just sets a horrible standard for the USA and the world. How can you teach your children 'the importance of telling the truth' when they're watching people at the highest levels of government, in some of the most sacred Democratic institutions on the planet, just lying like it's an awesome thing to do in the face of written evidence that literally everyone on the planet has access to? Such a sad time for the Democrat party. Literally pathetic. -
Can we add Pierre Poilievre to the list? Also, is Wall in the running? He'd be my first choice if he is but I didn't see anything about it.
-
Now you're just lying. Drone strikes don't intentionally target civilians, and "civilian" casualties include terrorists whose names just aren't on the books yet. Eg, a supporter of al-baghdadi who was unknown to US intelligence who died in a drone strike counts as a civilian, but they're really not. If you're talking about how there were too many civilian casualties when Obama was Prez I agree. We can both dislike Obama but that ship has already sailed. What kind of stupid idea is that? People kill people with knives and swords ffs. How can you prove what their intent was? If they don't get swords they can kill with a rental truck. People who make bombs for terrorists are a different story. Those items are designed to kill humans illegally. But I know you don't have any animosity towards terrorists who make bombs....

Ok wise one, can you tell me what Trump has done in the ME that's so bad that you're still pouting about it? Can you tell me what Israel has done in their entire existence to compare to 3M murdered and 300,000 women raped? And that's not even counting the '40s when 10M people died in Pakistan's separation. I know you've got absolutely nothing, you're gonna weasel off on another topic to justify more terrorism, as usual. Talk about brainwashed. Just out of curiosity, where do you get most of your daily "news"/info from eyeball? You know I watch Fox for most of my news, I'm not afraid to say it. You can turn on Fox news any time you want and try to spot some of their lies (and don't count Juan Williams, he's just there to give the Dems' perspective). So whose info do you personally vouch for eyeball? Man up. -

Don't go acting like you're calling out all the baddies while you're ignoring the worst ones of all. The fact that so many genocides occur in the ME should forewarn you of others to come. Genocide against Hindus in the Pakistan region go back well before the discovery of NA kid. Now you know. -

Lie-fest will be over in a couple of days. No new witnesses are being allowed, but if they are, Hunter Biden will be among them. First two lies you have to understand about lie-fest: 1) When the Demmies repeatedly say "Zelenski talked about Javelins, and Trump came back with "I want a favour", and then Trump talked about Biden".... that's an outright lie. Trump talked about crowdstrike, and crowdstrike had nothing at all to do with Biden. Crowdstrike had everything to do with the Russian collusion investigation. Trump wanted to look into crowdstrike to clear his own name. 2) When Demmies say that Hunter Biden isn't a material witness in this case and therefor shouldn't be called to testify, that's a outright lie as well. Schiff made Hunter a material witness when he said that "Trump asked the Ukrainians for dirt on a political rival". See, there's no "dirt" if there was an actual crime, there's just a crime, and uncovering a crime is never a bad thing to do. There's just dirt if there's no evidence of a crime to start with and you want to investigate someone just to see if you can turn up something that you didn't know about when you started (like the Russian collusion investigation was deigned to do). The Republicans get to find out why Hunter and Joe lied about Joe's knowledge of Hunter's job at Burisma, and why they lied when they said that "Joe and Hunter never talked about Hunter's plans to do $500M in business with the Bank of China when they flew there together on AF2". Anyone with even half a brain knows that it appears obvious that the Bidens were carpet-bagging where they should have been working for the US gov't. Trump asking for an investigation was not unwarranted. -

It must be nice to see the world through the eyes of a child. Ignorance is bliss. The US, as the dominant superpower on the planet, has been extremely friendly compared to what others like the Persians, Romans, Ottomans, Hun, Mongols, etc were like. The Japanese and Germans were horrible to POWs and civilians during WWII. The Pakistani gov't killed 3 million people in a civil war in 1970, that's more people than the Americans killed in all the wars they fought in put together. They also raped 300,000 women. That's militia-kicking-in-the-door-and-raping-you-in-front-of-your-kids rape. It's not like date "rape". From wiki, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_during_the_Bangladesh_Liberation_War : And yet you have never said a word about Pakistan and their insane, gov't-enforced bigotry. You're like a babe in the woods when it comes to understanding world politics. The second you hear anything anti-American you glom onto it like a dying man clutching at straws. -

In Que they say "Si'l vous plait, parabellum for my CZ"? -
Trudeau settled out of court because, as always, he sided with the terrorist (or 'fighter', as Trudeau calls them).
-
They took him into custody instead of killing him. It takes a special kind of asshole not to notice that.
-
Khadr was a terrorist with bomb-making videos on the internet, he was part of an illegal attack that killed an American soldier who was in uniform (and deserving the protection of the Geneva Conventions), Khadr pleaded guilty to killing the American and has never denied that he did it. None of that is disputed. It's all documented fact.
-
Lol. You're talking about a terrorist who put bomb-making videos on the internet to help other terrorists kill people, and it's the other people in the equation who are the assholes with no regard for the Geneva Conventions.... It takes a special kind of stupid...
-
Now you're just trolling because you know how stupid of a comment that is.
-
The only lesson learned was how much of an idiot Trudeau is.
