Trudeau at the World Leaders G-20
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Can anyone find a copy of the full speech he made today? I can just find editorialized snippets of it. You'd think that in this day and age a speech of such magnitude would be easily available on youtube, cbc.ca, ctv, G&M or somewhere but all anyone has is their own opinion along with the bits of the speech that go along with it. -
Trudeau at the World Leaders G-20
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I honestly thought that it would be easy to find the full speech that he made at the G20 but CBC just picks it up at the part where he talks about how Canada successfully integrated immigrants....blah blah blah. Their other story is that he got a "rock star reception" at the g2 from selfie fans. There ya go, public opinion straight from the CBC. I will keep digging. -
Paris might be problem for Trudeau

What percentage of Syrians are members of ISIS? What about Denmark, or Japan? Same %? Wow, I never would have thought of that. -
Paris might be problem for Trudeau
WestCanMan replied to cannuck's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So what you are saying is that mathematically there is likely to be the same number of terrorists in a group of 200 canadians gathered at Joey and Tina's wedding reception as there are in the same number of Syrian refugees? Why is it that you and I seem to disagree on everything? It's so crazy. -

Do you want to tie the hands of the govt so they can't protect us? When some dude drops his kids off at the same school that you do and then gets into a car with a known terrorist do you want the gov't to check up on him? When he doesn't drop his kids off do you feel a bit antsy dropping yours off? There are known members of terrorist orgs in this country unless everything is just a massive conspiracy theory. I really like it when someone from csis opens their email, or monitors their chat, texting, etc. I want them to piece together that network before they do anything major. It's not the govt that you need to be wary of, it's the media more than anything. They are the ones who form public opinion, and public opinion steers gov't. -

I laugh at people who are afraid that the govt is going to look at their emails, and who are going to be the first ones to scream blue murder when something happens to them or their families. What do you have to hide? What do you need to do without the govt of Canada's knowledge? Do you think that anyone gives a crap what you say to your mom, your business colleagues, or your Facebook friends? The govt has 10,000,000 square kilometres of Canada to protect from the same kind of thing that just happened in France and ISIS has named Canada as a target. If you were faced with that kind of a task you would want to know what the people who were consorting with the known terrorists were talking about. Get real. -

If the moderates aren't the majority then maybe we shouldn't be letting 25,000 of them into Canada. -

Its their problem, they should stay and fight anyways. If the moderates truly are the majority then they will win with our help. -
At the G-20 today JT was telling the world the proper way to build a society. What a classless thing to do at a time when the rest of the world is grieving along with France. "Hey dummies, if you all just did things the same way we do things like this wouldn't happen to you!" Trudeau still doesn't understand the length and breadth of religious intolerance. The rest of the world didn't "grow up" the way we did, without war and constant pressure along every foot of our border, 360 degrees, 365 days/year. He doesn't understand the religious alliances that formed over the millennia inside of that crucible. He doesn't know what's happening in France, Malta, the Phillipines, all across Africa, in cities all across Europe, in France, in the Middle East, and here in Canada where Muslims are already intent on living under sharia law while they are only a tiny fraction of our population. Hell the Protestants and Catholics still discriminate against each other in Ireland. We do need to take a hard line on religion dominating over democracies. We do need to put the lives of Canadians ahead of immigrants no matter how desperate they are. Trudeau needs to put his foolish pride aside and do what's right for Canada regardless of his idiotic election promises that everyone knew he couldn't keep anyways, and he needs to stop telling the rest of the world to come live in the clouds with him. The G20 members have real problems to solve. Trudeau should just keep his mouth shut and make people guess how stupid he is. Just stick to the selfies.

The people who claim to be Isis and who claim to be responsible for the attacks said the attackers were "targeting the capital of prostitution and obscenity." Lmao. How can people tolerate legalized young boy prostitution in their own countries and then point the finger abroad at adult homosexuality and prostitution? -
LOL. FWIW I think Trudeau picked a good defense minister. Even a broken clock is right twice a day tho.

Regarding the quote in your post, about the Americans being wild about Trudeau's refugee plan... Now trump will need to build two walls lol. What a great time to invest in acme fence co. -

Trudeau campaigned that he was going to stop the bombing of ISIS immediately. How long ago was that? His lack of foresight is alarming. I think he could build a house and decide not to put a bathroom in it if he didn't have to take a dump while he was drawing up the plans. -
Argus you sound like one of those people who could justify anything that "your side" does to "their side". Are you even aware of the slightest thing that happened to the Palestinians that might have made them a bit angry? Something that they might have retaliated for? Or do the Israelis have the sacred right to retaliation by definition? You think that you are the protector of Jews and that I am a hateful anti-semitist but the ironic reality is that people with the same "ability to focus" that you possess joined the SS during WWII. I can see the problems from both sides face, the damage that both sides do. All I ever did here is draw attention to the fact that the Israelis aren't as pure as the driven snow, which is by far the popular opinion among canadians. I never said that everything was a-ok in every other country in the middle east, that's a straw man argument. You could say the exact same things about countries in Africa, Asia, or South America and they don't all share the same religion.

So what you're saying is that you have to look at it from an illogical angle in order for it to make some sense lol.

My guess is that the "dumb policy" he is referring to is swamping our immigration officials with 25,000 refugees before January. -

This isn't an issue of "partisan politics", it was a central issue to some people not having confidence in Justin Trudeau in the first place. He played the wide-eyed optimist for his political campaign and he displayed an alarming lack of concern for very real dangers that everyone else in the world was acutely aware of. Not even 2 weeks into his term those dangers have come to the forefront. How much more danger are we going to be exposed to when his wide-eyed optimism brings 25,000 people in from the world's biggest terrorist hotbed? Isn't it at least a little bit concerning to you that his foresight didn't extend past 13 days into his reign as PM? Why didn't he play his eternal optimist card to Hollande or Obama yesterday? Is he already abandoning it? Will he stop fighting ISIS now? Is he still force-feeding us 25,000 refugees? Hopefully the reality of policing 10 million square kilometres of Canada from terrorism is finally dawning on him. That's a lot of malls, schools and other public places full of innocent canadians to be responsible for. -
i misunderstood her the first time I heard it, I wasn't in the living room. She said agenda not platform but her comments were as ignorant and biased. Re-electing the Conservatives wasn't the main issue. Not electing Trudeau was the main issue. I find it hilarious that Canadian voters see him as a positive person after 4 years of bitching, griping and acting like a spoiled kid. Him threatening to do no better than sabotage parliament for the whole term of the next govt if the CP got a minority was just another insight into who we just elected. The 50% female cabinet was his first major move after being elected, and what's the solid reasoning behind that? There is none. It was all politics, and Canadians elected him to do what's best for the country not just to pla the politically correct buffoon. Doing what's best for the country is something something he completely neglected as a member of the opposition and he's still doing it as the PM.

Harper put ideology ahead of health
WestCanMan replied to ReeferMadness's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No difference between the new snake oil and the crap that big pharm has been pushing for the last fifty years. Most of the health problems that Canadians face could be cured by eating a few salads and getting off the couch but everyone wants a pill. -
I was just watching CBC at issue, I can't stand that foolish black haired francophone woman. Her comment today was basically that "we just had the first conservative govt in decades with a decent political platform (the last Harper govt) and they failed to deliver". I'm paraphrasing, I saw it about fifteen minutes ago. Then she said that 66% of Canadians voted against the conservatives like they do in every election. What an idiot. More people than that vote against the ndp every time and that many people always vote against the liberals as well. Not to mention that almost no one voted liberal in the previous election. /rant

He has two options: 1) say that there aren't enough qualified people to process all the claimants because Harper was a callous bastard who intentionally allowed the refugee processing system atrophy, or 2) just open the floodgates and let in some more radicals to pray with in his local mosque (if anything from the truth about Liberals thread is to be believed).

With all the knowledge that we have about the universe it's hard to understand how anyone can believe in any creation-based religion unless they were duped, brainwashed and/or forced to follow it from birth, but I don't like to be the guy to tell a person that there's no Santa Claus. Especially when they will kill you for it.

I was going to come on here and respond to the rest of your post but now that I read it I find that it's mostly just personal attacks against me, even to the point of you being a fear monger. You shouldn't cause fear without good reason and all I did was enlighten people to things that you'd rather they didn't know. Thank you for openly admitting that I was correct in my assertion that the Israelis have a national holiday to honour a terrorist. That's obviously a huge black mark on their international reputation to anyone who is in the know. I also think it's important to understand that the word "terrorist" isn't synonymous with "muslim". Too many people are engaged in the debate about the middle east without that knowledge. FWIW I don't hate jews at all, I hate the trouble in the middle east and that we are being conditioned to take a firm stance on what's going on over there at the same time as we are being mislead as to exactly what's going on over there. I have seen jewish people speak against the actions of the Israeli state and I have the utmost respect for people who can see their own faults. I hope that the jews get their share of the holy land and that they are able to live in peace with their neighbours there forever. I don't think that they are on the right track and I think that we are guilty of supporting them with too blind an eye to all the things they do. No need for you to snitch me out to csis or the cia for that last sentence, I already sent an email saying that exact thing to my elected mp so I'm already red-flagged for life.

I respect that you are actually engaging in this topic with some actual facts, but don't throw down the anti-Semitism card on me Rue. The Likud party is run by terrorists and the Israeli people have national holidays to honour their actions - a rose by any other name. In the context of this debate, Israelis were the first terrorists. We all know that nothing to do with war or war crimes has been invented in the last 70 years, but right now popular opinion is that Muslims are the only terrorsists to ever walk the earth. I'm jere to attack that theory, not Jews in particular. Do you think that Israelis are beyond reproach? Im out of time, back l8r
