It might have been someone else. I really don't care who it was. The show is based on the premise that destroying the lives of hundreds of people was worth it to save one person in his family that was sick. You should watch Johnny Dangerously. It's a cheesy mafioso comedy about a guy who keeps on committing bigger and bigger crimes to make enough money to get his ma surgery for more and more expensive medical treatments. If you watch one 90 minute movie it spares you the need to watch dozens of hours of breaking bad.

If your post isn't removed by mods, and this forum has to become a total sandbox, then so be it, but here's the unabridged truth: You're the biggest liar on this site eyeball, maybe the entire internet. I catch you on actual lies almost every single day. Basically nothing that you say has a smidgeon of accuracy, common sense or truth. For a person like you to call me a liar is the epitome of farcical. Of course this is wrong, to the point of being ludicrous, as usual. I do think for myself, and in this day and age that's obviously pretty rare or CNN and CTV wouldn't have any viewers left. It actually is important for broadcasters to portray an honest, accurate depiction of major news events, especially when they're covering sensitive topics like this. For you to suggest that they can be deceptive and just assume that their viewers should figure it out for themselves is utterly idiotic. You've just advocated for complete dishonesty in broadcasting eyeball. That's as big of a window to one's idiocy as could ever be opened. Your brain doesn't need to be aired out, it needs to start start working.

This is now very little ability to disagree with the Left

GDP is largely a useless stat. If Justin Trudeau pays someone $10K to have his butt waxed for a meeting with the minister of agriculture from Djibouti it counts towards the GDP. If you get your hair cut or get your nails done - GDP. There are lots of things factored into the GDP which don't help our country to prop up our dollar so that we can afford to import things from other countries. The last time I checked, oil and gas account for 23-25% of our nation's exports, and the next closest thing, at about 13%, is the heavily-subsidized auto sector. The Greens and NDP say that we will start manufacturing green energy items and tech to replace the money from oil lol, it's just bullshit. We will never be able to compete with Asian and African countries where parents and teens all work full time to share a condo with 3 other families. Well, hopefully we won't. -
The federal government is apparently racist

The videos are actually as useless as one would expect them to be. It's like if I made a video about the moon landing with some model rockets and Tonka toys. -
The media should tell the accurate and honest truth. That's it. They don't need to butter up the cops, or promote a lynch mob. They need to tell the ugly, plain, unvarnished truth. The inflammatory story puts all eyes on the news, but it's harmful to the country. If you watch the video, you'll see that the cop warned Rayshard FOUR TIMES that he was going to taser him while they were wrestling, and the taser was just pointed at his leg. IMO they really didn't want to hurt that guy. In the end, if the cop would have tasered Rayshard then and there, this would have ended up better for Rayshard, but it would have seemed a abusive imo. The cop probably should have helped his partner restrain Rayshard instead of just holding a taser there and eventually doing nothing positive. That was kind of f'd up, the way it turned out.

Anarchy in Seattle

The Dems are trying to push a narrative that Trump is divisive, so they're really working these police shootings for all they're worth. They're pumping up BLM and Antifa like those a-holes are curing cancer by killing cops and lighting businesses & affordable housing sites down. We'll see if their hatred of police and their love of division pays off for them come election time. -
Here's the gist of what you're arguing eyeball, that this is a legitimate statement: Only a complete idiot could look at all of the evidence and think that this was an accurate summary of the events. It's more likely that someone who sums the events up in such a manner is being intentionally inflammatory. That's why I said that CTV is complete filth. Your defence of their awful anti-journalism falls completely flat. If I said that Would that be accurate enough for you? It's just as accurate as what CTV wrote, so by rights, you should consider that a fair summary if you're being honest.

In my opinion, relatively minor is when the police randomly pull you over at a checkstop and your BA is .071. You're coherent, you're two blocks from home and you have just driven two blocks. That's minor. It's worse when the police have cause to check you because you're driving erratically or you're passed out at the wheel. Rayshard was so wasted that even with a cop standing there watching him he accidentally drove his car over the curb onto the grass. IE, he drove a car when he was in a state where he could have easily killed somebody. In all honesty, Rayshard could easily have killed somebody that night. That's not minor at all. https://www.nhtsa.gov/risky-driving/drunk-driving That's just deaths. It doesn't include people who are paralyzed, people who have crushed pelvises and never walk properly again, etc. It also doesn't include the number of families grieving for a child or a brother or a mother. Are you kidding me that what he did was so minor that he should just be allowed to go? He committed an extremely serious crime and put lives at risk. He also lied to the cops about where he was, how much he drank, etc. His story is that he just came from dinner with his girlfriend, she dropped him off at Wendy's where his car was, and he just got in line and passed out, and he only had one drink. What parts of that do you think are true? He was nice enough, but IMO that's not co-operating at all. Co-operating would be saying "I drank more than I meant to, I realized I was drunk, I pulled over to get some food and sleep in the parking lot. I'm sorry, I've never done this before." Still guilty, but at least remorseful, honest and co-operational. Still needs to go to jail though. In some States they take blood tests in jail. A proper conviction won't just rely on a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer. A blood test is much stronger evidence. Georgia: https://www.ajc.com/news/state--regional-govt--politics/forced-dui-breath-tests-would-remain-illegal-under-georgia-bill/kex1kuaCM4MZeHrspKo08O/ [That quote above is taken out of context, they're just saying that police couldn't insist that motorists take blood tests back at that date, or even tell them that refusing the breathalyzer could be used in court. I only posted it here to show that in Georgia, BA tests are done by the police.] He was being taken into custody lawfully and for very good reason. He wasn't stopped based on racial-profiling he was already stopped, passed out drunk. The cops did nothing wrong at all, at any point. Too bad they had to shoot him, but he forced their hand. In your post above you said "The new police should......". Sounded like you were going along with the plan to defund all police and go with whatever the plan is. The absolute fact of the matter is that police WERE CALLED to come see him, specifically for being suspected of drunk driving, he gave them good reason to test him for drunkenness when they were there, he tested way over, he constantly lied to the police who were very polite and fair with him, be blew way over, they NEEDED to take him in to get a blood test to add strength to their charges against him, they weren't rough when they went to handcuff him, he attacked unprovoked, they didn't even want to use the taser on his LEG so they gave him FOUR WARNINGS and then he stole the taser from them, punched a cop, ran, and shot a taser at the police. Sad that he's dead, but that's what that laundry list of extremely bad decisions can lead to.

Because there are laws, and what you're doing is a advocating for the suspension of the lawful duties of the police. At some point they still have to arrest them OftenWrong, don't they? If he attacked them and ran at the Wendy's what makes you think it will be safer to approach him in his own home, where he may have guns, a pitbull, and/or some drunk friends? OMG so you're already giving up on policing? Don't join the idiot mob OW. There are 1M police in the US. They have hundreds of millions of interactions with society's absolute worst people who are at their very worst behaviour every year, and out of all of those interactions just a handful go to an extreme negative. Of those, you get one incident like George Floyd every few years and those cops get charged with murder. That's not a failure, it's actually a success. Malcontents just want something to bitch about and wanna be SJWs and stupid people get sucked in. Cops take endless abuse from people on the street, members of the government including our own PM, and an entire army of internet liars like the ones we have here. That's no crowd for decent people to get involved with.

You still told another lie, didn't you eyeball? He shot the taser, the cop shot him. Everyone on planet earth knows that. Just because other people lie about it doesn't make it ok for you to lie about it. Worry about your own foul mouth. Do you honestly see yourself as "part of the solution" when you're just a serial liar and a propagandist? You tell serious lies about every single topic that comes up for debate here. You're just a liar, through and through. Yet you want to cozy up to the adult table and act like your garbage has a place here. It doesn't. There's no place at a serious discussion for a worthless liar like you. You still can't find a lie by me anywhere on this site and I have 3,000 posts here, yet you still run your mouth like a fool. Go spew your lies, your idiocy, and your whining about the 30-person genocide from 300 years ago to someone dumb enough to GAF what you think eyeball.

Nope. There's a video. He was shot when he turned to fire a Taser at the police. Is running away the same as shooting a taser at police? Is it even close? Let's test it out. I'll run from some cops, you turn and shoot a taser at them. There are sites that say that Rayshard Brooks served prison time for crimes against his own children. I don't know if it's true or not, but if I was like CNN I'd run with it and when it was proven to be a lie I'd change the topic.

It's time to stop using the word progressive and replace it with radical. Theres nothing "progressive" about CNN, Antifa, BLM, AOC & the Squawks, Schiff, Biden, Pelosi, M Waters, CTV, CBC, Global, etc. They're just radicals now. I didn't see CBC or Global's bullshit take on this, but they literally described that shooting as "Police shot him in the back while he was running away." That's not News, that's bullshit. At the time they said it, the videos were out and the facts were known. CTV wasn't fair and impartial, they weren't just biased, they weren't just leftist, they weren't progressive, they were actually inciting radicals to loot, riot, commit arson and kill more cops. Maybe they're just total fucking idiots who shouldn't be allowed to stand in front of a camera and lead people astray, but I think it's impossible for anyone to be that stupid.

Anarchy in Seattle
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The police need the equipment that they have. The police need the upper hand everywhere. They need to be able to go into any neighbourhood at any time and save people's lives, and most importantly, they shouldn't have to risk their lives to do it. I don't give a f if it offends people, or what the idiots who believe in BLM and Antifa think. IDGAF what liberals who throw racist conspiracies around like confetti think. Police HAVE TO go into dangerous situations to save people's lives and THEY HAVE A RIGHT to at least have a chance to survive. People who think that "police should just have pistols because most criminals only have pistols" are just completely unable to think things through. If your brother/father/son/daughter/sister is a cop, should they have to run into the worst neighbourhood in your nearest big city, armed with just a pistol, to save someone they don't even know, who's caught in the crossfire of a drug war? I shouldn't have to do all the thinking for everyone here ffs. People need to wake the f up. My advice to police: Roll out the tank. Save people. Go home and smoke some legal weed. Repeat if necessary. Don't just rush into a situation where you only have a moderate chance of survival to save the lives of strangers. Just quit if they ask you to do that. Let this world go to hell. Dougie '93 is waiting for the fun to start. -
He was running, which would greatly reduce his ability to avoid hitting him in the face. The police are also wearing vests, so he's probably going to aim at the head if he's going to bother to shoot at him at all. FYI Tasers aren't pea-shooters: https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/stun-gun-laws-georgia.htm When Rayshard attacked police officers he instantly became a felon, so he was carrying that taser in violation of the law, also he was in possession of a policeman's stolen sidearm, another felony. Pointing the taser during the commission of a crime was also a felony. Firing it while under the influence of alcohol was a felony. Rayshard was on a roll. I don't know if he had a record from before, but he committed a lot of felonies, all caught on video, in a short period of time. I'm not saying that he deserved to die because that's obviously not the case, but I'm pointing this out to you to show you how seriously the State of Georgia takes tasers. Some States in the US don't even allow people to carry tasers. Our whole country doesn't allow citizens to even own tasers much less carry them around. It's really sad that Rayshard died, it's horrible, but he forced police to make a hasty decision regarding a weapon that was pointed at them. I don't suggest that anyone rolls that dice, with any police, anywhere, at any time, regardless of their training. The police had to chase him to get their taser back, and he never should have turned to fire anything at a police officer. Even a pellet gun. Those guys aren't playing cops and robbers. They're actual cops, and their lives are threatened all the time. Especially now. Are you honestly the kind of person who would push your luck like Rayshard did? Do you think you would survive that in Canada? Sweden? Czech Republic? Croatia? Russia? Iran? Congo? Australia? China? Japan? SoKo?
-
The cops didn't shoot him while he was running. They shot him while he was tazing. That's a fact, clearly recorded on video that we've all seen. Rayshard was potentially about to jolt a cop in the face with a 50,000-volt taser. The taser had enough range to get him there. That's why Rayshard is dead. The shooting had nothing to do with whether or not they would have eventually caught him. You're out on a limb known as 'lying'.

The young turks and that Cenk Uyger or whatever his name is, is a complete joke. If you look that name up you'll see that 'The Young Turks' was the name of a group that was largely responsible for the Armenian Genocide. https://www.armenian-genocide.org/young_turks.html I didn't even read this, it's just the first google result. Anyhow, who the fuck would name their show after a group that committed genocide? [Just them, and the neo-Nazis. That's about it.] This is the era where statues are coming down of people who committed far less serious crimes against humanity than outright bigot-fuelled genocide, and a leftist news show picks that name? No real shocker, alt-leftists, Antifa, BLM and the neo-Nazis are all birds of a feather. I'm getting into thread drift territory now, my bad.

To say that the cops would be charged criminally is to say that they have to allow something like a taser to shock their partner in the face or eyes in the first place, without shooting. You have to take into account that at the moment the officer decided to shoot, he was still defending his partner. He might have decided to shoot when the taser was aimed, but even if it was momentarily afterwards, the taser's hooks could have been in his partners face or eyes. The 50,000 volt jolt could still be coming. There's no doubt that when he shot, he could have been saving his partner from very serious injuries. Anyone who is comfortable saying that this was a crime should be willing to have a taser shot at their face from 15 feet away, knowing that if it goes in, they get the 50,000 volt blast. It won't likely kill them, right? It's not so dangerous that you should be allowed to defend yourself or your partner, right? Are you willing to take 50,000 volts to the face, so that you can be the one to lay criminal charges?

To be honest, some [maybe all] of those 17 'ambushed' cops were killed as part of the Obama-era riots. Social workers would have been completely safe walking into 90% of those ambushes. Your points stands 100% though, sending social workers into homes where there is a violent disturbance going on is just impossible. Even EMTs don't go into those places until they're cleared by police, and the level of urgency to get an EMT onto the scene is orders of magnitude higher than it is to get a social worker in. By that time, you don't need one anymore. Police will always be the "shock troops" going into possible violent scenarios. They have guns, badges, tasers, they pass fitness tests, they pass self-defence courses, they take de-escalation training, and even they still get hurt sometimes. The cost of insurance to get non-trained people to go into likely self-defence situations would be ludicrous. The cost of injury claims would be through the roof. It's an impossibility in the era of lawsuits and insurance.
