America isn't immune to what's going on in China. When you consider the way that the FBI was operating in 2016-2018, and the way that the conglomeration of CNN, MSNBC, etc operates strictly as a propaganda wing for the Dems, you could make the case that a blatant attempt at a 1-party rule system was underway. The Dems have far too much sway over the FBI, and the MSM in the US is absolutely as bad as Xinhua, Tass, or KCNN (KCNA lol). Trudeau didn't win the popular vote in Canada in 2019, just like trump in 2016. That doesn't mean there was no democratic process in either country.

Covid Is Turning Us Into a Socialist/Fascist Country

Exactly. Everyone has some empathy for a certain person or group, or they understand the importance of faking it. -
Canadians want government to take care of them

STOP SAYING TRUMP IN THE CANADIAN TOPICS! Honestly, there's no better example of cronyism than the one I just gave, and cronyism is the whole reasoning behind the push for socialism by wealthy elites who are just lining up to be the fattest pigs at the trough. -
Democracy: There are very distinct forms of Democracy, and America's Constitutional Republic is one of them. To say it's not, is like if I took a German Shepherd and crossed it with a Malinois and said: "This is not a dog. It's a Germois." The fact remains that it can still breed with any other member of Canis familiaris and produce viable offspring, so it's still a dog breed by definition, not a new species. I've heard it said that "In a democracy the people could vote to take away your bike and in a constitutional republic like the US that's not the case", but the principle of eminent domain says otherwise. You just get compensation.

Yeah the DNC Convention was off the rails. Everyone that they had giving lectures there seems to have been the least qualified person to do so. Michelle Obama's "When they go low, we go high" is the most ironic quote of all time. All that the Dems do is incite riots, lie, and make baseless allegations. I guess that they're still waiting for the GOP to go low so that they can go high. They also blatantly promoted BLM at the event, while they complained about division lol. "Gee whillikers, I intentionally peed into the wind so that all this urine would get carried away from me. Now I smell like a Democrat-controlled city."

That's like saying "it's not a dog, it's a German Shepherd". Your 'Constitutional Republic' is just a sub-category of 'Democracy'.

Canadians want government to take care of them

If I could just expand on my point, a lot of the socialists (& fascists) in the US are behind Biden, and he's the perfect example of cronyism. Wherever Joe Biden was influential as the VPOTUS, his kid raked in gobs of money, in the most unlikely/worrisome ways imaginable. The Dems rubber-stamped all of the Biden family's profiteering as "OK" and the sheeple gobbled it up. As we speak, Kamala Harris's kids are upgrading their resumes - they're changing the "Expected Wages" line from $/hr to $/minute. -

WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They're like little kids who think of their parents as a money tree. There are two groups of people who benefit from socialism - the people who contribute the absolute least to society and the people who stand to gain the most from government cronyism. The people who put in the time and effort to learn a trade, or get a profession, or took the risk to start a business, and the people who worked hard to make a decent living for themselves are the ones who stand to lose from socialism. We're the people who truly understand what we're headed towards. -

I won't hold our gov't too accountable to the standard of "shoulda coulda woulda" in every specific instance across the entire country, but there were some basic, common-sense steps to take right at the outset that we didn't take such as blocking travel from people who had been to China and telling people to wear masks. It's 100% idiotic that people could fly in from Wuhan on March 15th, stroll through a crowded airport, ride transit, swim in an indoor/public pool, eat at a buffet and then a week later Canadians weren't even allowed to walk outside in our own provincial parks. The turnaround from 'doing extremely high-risk things is 100% ok' to 'doing things which have zero risk of spreading infection is forbidden' was extremely sharp and it made no sense whatsoever. It's like "You can ride a raging bull through the maternity ward" on Tuesday and on Sunday "You can't eat a sandwich on the patio". I was concerned when our gov't started giving massive gobs of money to CBC and then to "select media outlets". A total of $1,400,000,000.00 went to CBC and some Liberal-toady-approved media outlets. Then Rebel Media was banned from recording our glorious leader's precious words. This is what we get for not putting a stop to that. -
Dead people were registered. They still get to vote. 7,700 people die every day in the US. That's 770,000 every 3 months. Theoretically, if they're dead, they don't get to vote anymore.

The Dems are trying to make it easier to cheat. Just like with 'no voter id' and 'illegal immigrants can vote'.

America under President Trump
WestCanMan replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Obama has always supported/encouraged 'protests' and turned a blind eye to rioting, looting, arson and racial violence. That's ok with you and CNN, it's not ok with me. It is extremely divisive and disgusting. You call Trump divisive, can you give me an example of Trump doing something as divisive as what Obama does? -

WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Fascism and communism are not 'the same thing' in theory and I never said that they were, but they share the main anti-democratic traits like a massive amount of control over the media, a lockdown on public discourse, the death of small business, etc. Can you find my quote about 'small business bailouts'? I'm not sure what you're referring to. Empathy is 'a selling point' of communism and socialism. In the end, it's the exact opposite of what you get. Where's the compassion in China, Venezuela and Russia? You're done wit facts cougar, that's about it. -
That's one of my biggest criticisms of socialism. When you want to see a socialist gasp for breath, say: "Sure, the idea of cute, cuddly Bernie Sanders getting elected and turning the US into a socialist country sounds great now, but what happens when all the money in the country is flowing through the government and the next Donald Trump gets elected?" You'll see pie eyes. It's not surprising though, because the only reason people are socialists in the first place is because they don't think things through.

America under President Trump

They don't even hide the fact that they're inciting rioting and looting anymore. The Obamas are disgusting trolls and tey're bringing the whole Dem party down to their level. It's disgusting. The most bizarre aspect of it all is that those divisive losers are acting as if Trump if the one who's dividing the country. Hello Obama you dumbass, the 2014, 2015 and 2016 riots are on the phone. They want their leader back. -
I have no idea how those guys acted. One was PM before my mother was even born, and the other lost power the year I was born. I doubt that I would have hated either of them as much as I hate the village idiot though. I hate Trudeau more than Trudeau hates poverty (as in, the idea of living in poverty himself). That's off the scale.
-
Trudeau and AOC have the same superpower. They are such huge narcissists that they never feel embarrassment or shame no matter how stupid their last comment was. I'd crawl into a hole if I ever said or did anything that is considered the normal level of idiocy for those two. Trudeau is fresh off of his umpteenth major scandal and he's already acting like nothing ever happened and he's still Canada's prodigal son. I'm 100% certain that he is truly unable to feel shame.

JT was elected by his daddies name and a bunch of liberal fools, and look how badly he screwed our country. It was an epic failure. I'm not a fan of people with no military experience being Minister of Defence but not a lot of soldiers get elected to Parliament. I'll give them credit for having as much intelligence as men, but in the current political climate women are being advanced above their ability levels because of their gender. The 2015 cabinet is a perfect example. Half of the cabinet members just had to be women, but he had a much smaller pool of female MPs to draw from.

Look how many Antifa and BLM members are shown to be teachers. They're just not the brightest people around. Have you ever seen a small business owner in Antifa or BLM? People who put on big-boy pants with a real belt just have a far higher maturity level than people who talk theories with children. There's no comparison.
-
His previous career shows him as a guy who'd still be living in his mom's basement if he didn't have a wealthy family. He had no real job experience, just a bit of this and a bit of that, plus some failed attempts at getting an advanced education. Teachers aren't disqualified from holding office, they're just the least qualified to hold an office. All of their experience is working with kids. That's not like running a competitive business.

https://buffalochronicle.com/2019/10/19/trudeaus-west-grey-accusor-was-much-younger-than-first-thought/ The MSM in Canada isn't covering this, just like they weren't showing the bodycam footage of the George Floyd arrest, which was 100% real and shed a lot of light on the second-biggest news story of the year after covid. It's a real problem for a person to think that they can get their 'News' from CBC and CTV. That's not a real thing.

Covid Is Turning Us Into a Socialist/Fascist Country
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
1) What you lack is called empathy. Some people had a lifelong dream, saved money, started a business, created jobs in the local economy, and lost it all to covid. All their savings, their dreams, everything. Maybe their houses too. It takes a disgusting, pathetic sub-human to suggest that they’re just greedy people, this implying that loss is no big deal, or might actually be a good thing Just because the homes and businesses being burned to the ground and the jobs lost aren’t yours shouldn’t make it ok to you. 2) History is not your strong suit. 3) Speak for yourself, and sheep is the word you’re looking for. -

What extreme measures? I suggested extreme measures when C19 was expected to be a huge deal. Not now.
