Was it nationalism that got us into those wars, or the lack of it? A pure nationalist would be an isolationist, and would just say "Let them kill each other" and get on with the business of strengthening their own country. "The thing" that got us into two world wars is more like what's going on in Ukraine right now. NATO wanted to flex on Russia, they wanted to get right in Russia's grill along the 2,000 km Ukrainian border. Russia isn't having it. Now it's a mess, but it's a mess that we're getting more and more involved in because...... we're not nationalists. We're "interventionists" at best, but in this case we're "assholes".

What does the 14th amendment do exactly? I've never heard anyone talk about it before. I quickly looked it up on Google and it reads like a follow-up to the 13th amendment, granting American citizenship to the people who were freed. What's objectionable about it? I'm really not familiar with it at all.

Right now China is revelling in all of this chaos. I think they'll wait to take Taiwan. There's no need for them to rush, they easily have until 2024 and once they do attack it will be over quickly. Also, the US is getting weaker day by day because of all the political strife within their own border. China is growing stronger and stronger. I don't see any reason for them to rush into anything. China also gets to watch the US/NATO technology going head-to-head on the battlefield against modern Russian technology. They have their own stuff which the other two haven't really seen in action yet. They can learn from the Ukraine war and shift production to the stuff that's really gonna work and back away from things that don't work. This is a really dangerous scenario if China senses a weakness. This is the worst of times for America and the world since I've been old enough to drive.

The Americans think that they're being cute, using Ukrainians as raw meat to wage their proxy war against Russia, but it's China that's really laughing and no one seems to see it yet. The attached photo with all of the people on it is from CNN's font page of their website. The other two are links from a Google search. When you click on the hotlink, it goes to an article with a different title, so there's really no way to send you to a link that shows their sleazy caption aside from a photo. Once they update their site this little bit of sleaze is erased from history. So anyways, CNN thinks that doxxing supreme court justices is A-OK as long as the protests in front of their houses are relatively peaceful, and they think that only Republicans question it. I'm pretty sure that even the diehard leftists here understand why it's not OK at all for there to be "peaceful protests" outside of a SCJ's home. Where's the outcry from the Dems? The last time I checked, Florida had a duly elected government that passed a law which is favoured by a large majority of their voters. Biden won his first twenty elections during the cold war. Russia was his geopolitical foe for all of those years but America never got to sink her teeth into Ruskie flesh in all that time. Florida and Texas just gained congressional seats because of their increase in population, California and NY lost one each. It's clear that democrat policies aren't working at the state level or the federal level, but Americans might be looking at another year of mail-in ballot fraud, so it's not clear if there's an end in sight. Honestly, if Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Biden, Harris, Petie, AOC and the rest of the Dems gave a shit about the US they'd all quit their jobs. We all know that's not happening though, and the only possible reason is that they're evil.

In Canada 80% of the deaths between March 27 and April 10 were from vaxed people. Over 50% were from 3xers. When you take into consideration that 1) there are significant known side-effects from the vaxes and 2) we still don't know if there are any longer-term side effects, the drugs' ineffectiveness is making it a complete farce as a mandatory injection. They've abandoned what made them great and became political activists. They lost their special status. They won't continue to get tax breaks and special exemptions just so that they can operate as an oligarch. I'd argue that Florida's democracy is more important than a minor hit to their economy, but will their economy even suffer? It seams like they just generated a massive income stream that they never had before and I don't think that what DeSantis did will slow traffic to Disney. The damage done to Disney's brand occurred when they opened their mouths and interfered with the parent-child relationships of every Floridian. Universal studios is also in Orlando, I've been there myself - it's pretty cool. Florida's beached aren't going anywhere. Florida, now more than ever, is seen as a place of freedom and American values. Florida is flourishing under DeSantis. If you want to worry about an entire state, worry about California.

I never tied this is before because I never thought about it, but here in BC (more specifically Surrey where my son goes to school), children sign a document which states that they're not allowed to electronically record anything on school property - neither on audio nor video. Obviously that's not worth the paper that it's written on, because contracts signed by minors in BC can't be enforced against them, but no doubt it will discourage most kids from doing it. It's also against the right of any citizen in Canada to record the audio of any face-to-face conversation that they're a party to. Anyways, I've always wondered why teachers cared so much about whether or not a kid records what they're saying in a classroom. Now I guess we know one of the reasons, and it's not good. The people who want to take the position that "every kid in the rez schools was abused" should never for a second take the position that "What happens in the grade 2 classroom, stays in the grade 2 classroom."

DeSantis passed a Bill into law that never should have been necessary in the first place. It doesn't matter that it happened to less than 500 people.
