  1. 1. DEI is pretty evil, TBH, and it was designed by people who don't have the country's best interests at heart. 2. I didn't know that 6. School is not like a specific trades training course. The ATC course is specific to people who want to do that one job, not just break into a general field, and it's designed to separate the wheat from the chaff. 13. Always. I've always found loyalty to be a key aspect of working with other people. Maybe that comes from being so involved in sports, or from being in the military, but I definitely view loyalty as a day-to-day fixture. 14. Yet you seemed to think that nepo-babies were common earlier...
  2. Right now Carney is so desperate to get a trade deal signed with someone, anyone, that he'd sell his children to the ayatollah for some buttons. Ford's not quite in the same boat though: This trade war is happening one step above his pay grade, so he's partly a bystander in it, like the rest of us he didn't get elected entirely on the basis of handling US-Canada trade it wasn't Ontario PC's who started this feud with Trump, it was the LPOC, so he's distanced from that aspect as well from Ford's POV, there's an unwillingness to stick his thumb in Trump's eye like that regarding the auto industry, of all things. The Ontario economy can't fall back on fisheries, oil, agriculture, etc, like Carney's can. The auto sector is Ont's meal ticket this deal with China is not only a direct shot across the bow of the NA auto sector, it also flies in the face of Trump's stance against China. It's got political suicide written all over it for an Ontario premiere to pull this stunt against Trump Carney can still count on the CBC to back him no matter how foolish he looks in all this, but the CBC is always looking for conservative blood to spill, so a similar mistake by ford will translate into another public flogging by the CBC. As bad as it is for Carney to pull a stunt like this, it would be far worse for Ford to go down that same path. Like, orders of magnitude worse. This is just another one of the problems with having a "leader" like Trudeau or Carney. Their ineffectiveness doesn't just hurt Canadians, and drive Canadians apart, it also drives a wedge between the provinces and between each province and the government. Canada is fracturing like a glass in a Loony Toons skit. You can just see the spiderweb growing at a steady, predictable path, to a pre-determined outcome, with Elmer Fudd's frowning face in the background.
  3. Is it really "discussing" though, when you try to pretend that DEI just means "making sure everything is really fair" when it is just blatantly discriminating against people? DEI = codified discrimination. Truly. If your kid isn't at least 35% better than the other kid, they miss out, and some companies in the US, like Google, even advertise "whites/white males need not apply". 👍 TBH I don't know how legacy admissions work. Some people donate millions to a university. If that helps keep the doors open, and makes tuition more affordable for everyone, and increases the quality of services that a university can provide to all its students, is it such a bad thing if one kid gets in? I think not. And I'm not in a position to give millions to a university. That's at the bottom of my list of things to donate money to, if I even had $1M to give away, so my own son will clearly never benefit from such a policy. I think it 100% puts people into positions that they are unqualified for. Eg, I think that the fire chief in NYC should have experience putting out at least one fire. Would it be cool if I just said that a white cisgender male just has to be put the dean of a black female university in Georgia? How would that make sense? That's a pretty flippant response to "worked harder, did far better on the testing". IMO the people who can get 100% are better at the job, and can perform all the tasks quicker and more accurately. I mean, the people who devise the course and testing are fairly useless if their testing, after 60 or so years, doesn't identify the best candidates... Do you really have so little faith in education and training? It's safe to say that being a cop is dangerous, and it's objectively quite rude to suggest that it is not. There's no real "hire my kid" and it definitely doesn't end with "no matter what", but for sure: all things being equal you 100% hire the kid first. There's far more to it than just the quality of the applicants to consider. Loyalty is something that goes both ways, and it's actually an important part of a strong company. DEI BS is not. I mean, name one other country aside from the US where an illegal immigrant will have an advantage getting hired over a citizen who's also the child of a long-time employee... The concept is purely re-tar-ded. It's not personal, I just want you to understand how you would feel in that situation. When someone has worked for a company for a long time, the chances are that they've gone over and above many many times. If you consider yourself to be someone who showed extreme loyalty to your company, and then they didn't value your job references or give your kid a chance, then your feelings of loyalty would just instantly die.
  4. Trudeau: "We're phasing out the oil sands." Carney: "Chinese investment in the oilsands is welcomed"... Is it possible that there will be a leftard on this site who doesn't fully support this sudden new alliance with China? Now does it make sense why Trump said that he wanted our useless f'ing country out of the 5 eyes? I'm only going to drink American alcohol from now on. Honestly, F this shit. I'm cheering for team USA at the Olympics. Let's go Tkachuks!!!!
  5. You know that was 100% true, so what exactly are you doing right now?. Are you honestly trying to say that DEI is nothing more than people saying "Use the fairest hiring practices possible now"? Did you forget that universities in the US have created completely different grade requirements for Asians and African Americans? If you're black, you need an 80. If you're Chinese, you need 96. That's what DEI is, Mike, and you know that. Don't insinuate that I'm a f'ing liar again. The CENTRAL tenet of DEI hiring is that STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS ARE LOWERED IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE MINORITIES AND WOMEN, BUT REMAIN THE SAME AS ALWAYS FOR WHITE MEN, AND SOMETIMES ASIANS. As if that's not enough, it's also common to see "white men need not apply" at companies like Google and in the US military while the Dems were in charge. If you think I'm wrong then look into it instead of just accusing me of saying something that's not truthful. I don't make grand accusations whimsically. What's the point of even talking to you if you're going to be this dishonest, Mike? We've had discussions here about those exact hiring practices. Hell, there was even a class action lawsuit filed by air traffic controller applicants who got 100% on their courses but were denied work in order to accommodate DEIs with far lower scores. And then the geniuses in charge ended up with a shortage of ATC's. Go figger. OMG, Mike. That's callous and disgusting. I just did a quick check and there seem to be about 70 cops murdered in the US and 75,000 assaulted yearly. In addition to the cops that are killed every year, there are other cops who were shot and survived, or shot at but missed, or stabbed, or attacked with knives but unhurt, or attacked with other weapons but survived. Sure, some of the assaults might be like that OPP jerk-off who pretended that David Menzies assaulted him, but that cop should have been fired, and that never ended up being an assault charge either, but that's probably because it was caught on camera. I never made a blanket statement that they all deserve to be hired over others, so that's a lie, but it's ridiculous to assume that a Syrian or Gazan muslim who just came to Canada 5 years ago should be an equally likely candidate to protect a conservative PM as a 5th generation Atheist (yeah, capital A) or Christian. Wrong, I'm just not into pretending like you are. I know that there's no way in hell that crakhobarbie or hodad are gonna be fair about hiring if they work in an HR dept. Nor would herbie. Never. It's just ingrained in their DNA now to be racist and bigoted. How abut if you don't pretend that AOC isn't an idjit and I won't pretend that MTGreene and that weaselly faced chubby little white senator aren't nutjobs. Lindsay Graham iirc? This conversation is about reality. DEI is reality. It's discriminatory, racist, counterproductive, and it's as real as the planet you're standing on. Here's a scenario for you to mull over: M Hardner works at a company for 30 years. He worked overtime when they needed him, even though he was greatly inconvenienced. He worked the occasional weekend, and did a lot of work at home on evenings and weekends. By all accounts he is an excellent employee. Now he's been moving up in the company for a while, life is good, and his son completed a 1-yr course training him to work at a company like the one you work at. He gets 100%. He has 5 solid years of work experience, and he's bilingual, in Eng and Fr, which is good because you work with the federal gov't and there are a lot of Francophones there. He gets his "secret" security clearance with no problems, and applies where you work. It's in his home town. There's one other applicant, a Gazan refugee. He has no work experience here in Canada, but he took the same course as your son and just barely passed, due to his limited English-speaking ability. He had been arrested for domestic abuse twice here but he wasn't convicted, and authorities in Gaza aren't cooperating with Canadian authorities, so our police don't have a clue what he may have gotten up to over there, but since he wasn't convicted he passed his criminal record check, and he was able to get a "classified" security clearance (due to a new LPOC policy), just a bit lower than your son got. The bad news is that your company isn't hiring people with your skin colour right now, because there are too many people who "look like you" there, so your son can't be hired. The Gazan refugee gets a rental unit nearby that's partly funded by the federal gov't, and starts work at your company the next Monday. Is that sensible Mike? Are you really gonna high-five the HR people where you work? Wait, there's more. So your son gets hired in a different province, a 10-hr drive away. It sucks because he has to move out of your side-suite and pay hefty rent where he's moving to. He's also moving away from his friends and family, but what's he gonna do? Work at a job he doesn't have any special training or education for in his home town? And... now the company that he got hired at offers you a nice raise to come work for them... You'll get to be close to your grandchildren, and you'll be moving away from your mother-in-law. Houses are the same price there. The only thing that's really keeping you where you are is loyalty to your current company. Wait, do you even have that now Mike? If they ask you to work overtime are you still gonna do it or are you gonna keep your dinner plans? So whats the deal? Does your company lose you now? FYI 95% of people in your situation lose every bit of loyalty they had for their company. You'd think that after 30 years they'd at least hire your son if he was the most qualified candidate, no? In this scenario, your company got a downgrade on their new hire, 100%, and they lost you, a valuable, reliable 30-yr employee. How do you feel about DEI now that you're the one being screwed by it?
  6. A DEI hire is worse than a 'nepo baby': the whole policy of DEI is centred around "giving people opportunities that they never earned", either by being underqualified or just being inferior to other applicants by virtue of their lack of proven & pertinent abilities the idea of nepotism isn't centred around inadequacy, it's centred around loyalty, which is 100% normal. If you're a cop, and you've risked your life 200 times for your city/country, and your family member wants to apply, shouldn't they at lest have some kind of leg up? Also, you're hiring (IE, TRAINING) a person for that job who 100% knows what they're getting into, instead of someone who's going to be blindsided in some way, they're far more likely to last more than just a few month or years on the job. FYI training new recruits/workers is costly and inefficient. in this day and age, with so many new Canadians whose primary loyalties lie elsewhere, it makes sense to give nth-generation Canadians sensitive jobs ahead of unvetted immigrants from anti-western countries. Just look how badly Ilhan Omar is failing her constituents... She's a huge racist/religious bigot and it has completely blinded her perception, and made her a detriment to her community and her country. You don't think that blue-haired HR tw4ts are unreasonably favouring "non-cisgender white devils" every day with their DEI drivel? Gimme a break. You know damned well that if AOC didn't get elected to destroy her own country, and she was working in HR instead, she'd sewer her own company just to get 'minorities' ahead. And again, if you risked your life as a cop, you've earned some privileges. You just have. It happens in every country, in every line of work, at every pay grade, period. Why should we just ignore the contributions of valuable employees? That's simply ret4rded.
  7. A 'controversial' LPOC party position usually means a scandal or a crime. Some good examples of controversial LPOC policy positions are: Letting child-rapists and other violent criminals out on bail when there's incontrovertible evidence that they're guilty, such as victim statements or if they're caught red-handed the carbon tax, which they had to step back on the gesundheitspass forcing young healthy people to take an improperly trialled drug that they absolutely didn't need sending the police out on horseback to trample peaceful protesters having peaceful protesters beaten on the street calling the unvaccinated racists and misogynists pretending that res schools were murder factories openly bribing media outlets We already have it. You can walk into a lab and get an MRI in Canada tomorrow if you pony up the dough, or you can go through medicare and wait 6 months. Upon diagnosis you can book your next medical procedure, and you're instantly 6 months ahead of the guy who has to wait for his diagnosis. You can also go to different country, like the US or Mexico, and put your Canadian money into their health care system. How does it benefit Canadians when large amounts of money leave our country to go into the US system, or Mexico's? Do you think Trudeau's cronies, with their vast sums of money, are gonna wait in line here when they can just pop across the border? Since when is ending a racist and financially detrimental policy 'controversial'? The problem with the abortion debate is that it's a political goldmine, and the public's perception of it is controlled by the 100% pro-LPOC mainstream media. The conservatives can be winning on 9/10 issues, and all that the MSM has to do to tip the scales left is lie about the CPC's abortion policy. It's a no-brainer. So, as soon as a conservative utters the word 'abortion', the alt-left propaganda machine at the CBC starts redlining and that statement is twisted into "Conservatives hate women!!! This is like something from the Handmaid's Tale!!! My body, my choice, unless it's a dangerous injection that I don't need!!!" The best thing that conservatives can do is just say "We have no interest in changing abortion laws", to prevent the CBC from getting soundbites that they can twist into LPOC votes. So do conservatives. We just don't think it's supposed to be something that the gov't is pimping. It's supposed to be something that Canadians choose themselves, as a last resort. "Were you injured by the jabs? Shhhhhhhhh. Put a tarp down inside your front door and we'll send a medical team over right away, free of charge. We'll even pay to put you in the ground." Conservatives aren't against abortion rights. There's really no "abortion debate" to be had. Over 60% of Canadians want women to be able to get an abortion up to 3 months in, and even 3-4 months longer when there are medical issues, depending on the severity. It's healthy babies in the last few months that we really care about. Everyone has "quality of opportunity", weasel. That has not been an issue here for generations, and to pretend that it is an issue is just your own racism. You really need to try to be a better person, Treebeard. You can dislike it all you want: people with money are gonna get it no matter what. It's just a matter of whether we allow them to spend their money here, or if they pay airfare and get hotels in a different country, thereby putting their Canadian money into foreign medical systems. That's it. Oh wait, that's not it. It also means that Canadian doctors will have less opportunity here, and we will continue to watch our best doctors go to other countries. As long as the CBC is still out there pulling your strings, you will always view the conservatives as monsters, regardless of what they say or do. Their policies will continue to be branded as "hateful towards women and minorities and bad for the planet!!!" until the LPOC adopts those policies, at which point they will be considered brilliant and noble. Just wait: eventually the Libs will come up with a great plan to "keep Canadian doctors here and offer higher quality services to people who are willing to use their own money for them, at rates that contribute greatly to our own public healthcare system, making our current level of healthcare more affordable, instead of benefitting other countries' medical systems and tourism industries" and you'll say "OMG, that's brilliant! Carney is so f'ing dreamy!"
  8. Yeah, the bias isn't like +10% or anything like that. It's a full, 100% bias, just like you'd get from a blue-hair panhandler. The LPOC definitely get their money's worth for the billion taxpayer dollars that they give the media for every election. Is it just a coincidence that the Ukrainians hired the one person in our gov't with direct familial ties to the actual Nazi party? The Ukrainians have an actual Nazi battalion in their army, it just makes so much sense to reunite Freeland with the family's old crew. The cultists here try harder to ignore corruption than the Libs do to hide it.
  9. I don't doubt that he voted Green or NDP. Same ship, different pile. Is voting for those guys any better than voting Lib? It's arguably a step up IMO, even if that just means standing on the only solid turd in the pile.
  10. The death toll is estimated at around 12,000, as of this moment, but it is rising quickly. This is a really precarious and volatile situation with a lot of extremely negative possible outcomes and one long-shot good outcome. Bad: US waits too long to get involved and the revolution fizzles out. US ends up with more blood on their hands, tens of thousands of lives are lost, it's another ME loss for the US, Iranians feel like they have no choice but remain under islamic tyranny for generations to come US doesn't get involved and Iranians feel like they have no help, and therefor no choice but remain under islamic tyranny for generations to come US gets involved too quickly and is just remembered as an attacker, revolution fails anyways US gets involved militarily and achieves minor successes like "killed an ayatollah who is replaced by a bigger d---head". Iran remains the islamo-fascist terrorist supporting mecca that it has always been How "good" could a good outcome really be? Is there any chance at all that religious bigotry takes a serious hit? The problem with that is: extremely evil people will happily wield a certain type of power over others that good people won't. It's islam's superpower... If you control the most evil people of all, they will control the rest. Mohamed's army was paid with multiple wives and slaves, and that is cheaper to run than an army that's paid with real currency. It's how islam spread like wildfire in the dark ages. Can an army of decent people defeat an army of hateful psychopaths who will never stop? Will that take more bloodshed than anyone in the west is prepared to spill?
  11. Brandy? Dang, bro. I don't even know what to do with that stuff. I've still got some Napolean that I kept around for my ex-mother-in-law, and I've been with my current wife for over 20 years 😂. It's probably Kool-Ade by now.
  12. Let me guess, P1990 got his first jab in Warman and his 2nd one in the Saskatoon WalMart...
  13. Riiiight, I forgot about the BSL4 lab conspiracy, the laptop conspiracy theory, the ivermectin conspiracy theory, the jabs don't prevent the spread theory, the vaxed people are dying theory, the covid infections/hospitalizations/deaths are up in Canada in 2022 theory, the Jussie Smollett story, the M Brown gentle giant story, the G Floyd gentle giant story, the hijab hoax, Russian collusion, Biden has dementia conspiracy theory, Antifa exists conspiracy theory, TNI conspiracy theory, etc. Buddy, you should be begging me information right now.
  14. Tim Walz & Kamala Harris: "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! THE LPOC STOLE OUR IDEA!!!" Mamdani: "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" Leftists in Minneapolis: "YAAAAAAAYYYYYY! BRING HIM TO MINNESOTA!!! WE CAN GIVE HIM A DAYCARE JOB WITH A 6-FIGURE INCOME!!!!!" Trudeau: "Do you have any teaching jobs open in Minnesota? Jr high school only though. I'm not a sicko." Clinton: "There's a luxurious private island for that kind of thing you broke-arse pigs. But I uhhhh, haven't been there 👀"
  15. That's the least of his problems. Did you watch the video? Isn't that priceless? I laughed my ass off watching that two-faced weasel talk from both sides of his mouth while CBC cheered for booth versions of his "truth" without noticing the disconnect.
  16. You should go roll with Carney, he's literally the only guy on earth who would be bottom for you.
  17. Buddy, you guys ignored vaccine injuries & deaths among young adults and children and called people liars and kooks for talking about it, and you're gonna try to claim the moral high ground now because I made fun of drunk-arse terrorist supporter E. May? GFYS you worthless loser. Fine. You get a star.
  18. From your article: Hinshaw said the province has been including all deaths in which COVID-19 is suspected as either a primary or secondary cause in order to accurately capture the impact the virus is having. That included cases with a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, even if the cause of death was still under investigation. 🤢🤮 Additionally, anyone who recently had the jab and then suddenly died for no apparent reason was automatically not included in vaccine deaths stats until there was a really really lengthy investigation. Like, years later.
  19. Thank you. Sorta...? Did you elect Elizabeth May? 🤣 Dude, never admit to that. I actually had a guy tell me that him and his friend were both beaten up at the same time by 1 guy, and another guy told me that he performed c---gus on a prostitute, but those stories pale in comparison to "I voted for E. May" 😂 Is she your drinkin' buddy or something? You're actually pretty badass if you can drink with Liz.
  20. Everyone is disappointed with the direction our country has gone over the past ten+ years. Don't pretend that anything is better now than it was in 2014. What do you think opposition members are supposed to do, genius? Do you remember how angry Trudeau was as leader of the opposition? All he did was fixate on Duffygate for 3 years and the mainstream media LOVED it. FYI Canadians aren't actually upset by the fact that Poilievre is b-chng, they're upset that there's so much to b'tch about. Dude, the whole point of that video is that the Liberals aren't doing any of the things that they were elected to do. What have they actually accomplished? Carney wasn't elected to grovel at Trump's feet. He wasn't elected to wear Trump's colours. He wasn't elected to just watch the US add tariffs while he was removing ours. He was elected to be the pitbull that he claimed to be, but he's so meek that he makes golden retrievers look like dire wolves. If that looked like whining to you then look again. I just ridiculed you and your cult leader. There was nothing whiny about that at all. Always. You said that the Libs were doing what they were elected to do and that couldn't be further from the truth.
  21. @eyeball, @ExFlyer, @BeaverFever, @herbie, @Michael Hardner: is this how CBC sees the relationship? Have they noticed this? Is that the guy you elected? Is "Elbows Up!" really a thing? Is Carney really owning up to all his bluster? C'mon ya bunch of cowards. Man up and address the situation. Your guy is the classic "Meet me after school" kid who then goes and hides in the principle's office as soon as the bell rings, waiting for his mommy. Am I wrong?
  22. This wouldn't have bothered me ten years ago, but after seeing our gov't go fascist during covid, how the media has started to openly fly their LPoC banners, and how much control TNI has over our information sources, this is like the final nail in the coffin for democracy.
  23. The side that you're always on. The left. I can guarantee that you can't find it in your heart to be critical of the people who are protesting against ICE, nor can you speak to their litany of false narratives. You'll support them to the greatest extent possible and then stay mum about their lies. FYI that's support. Either stay out of the debate or weigh in in a forthright manner.
