Is the CBC a Legitimate News Channel
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hmmmmmmm... The successor to Hugo Chavez in 2013, and inaugurated less than a year ago for a third term contested by the opposition , the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, whose capture and exfiltration by the United States was announced by Donald Trump on Saturday, had managed to maintain an iron grip on the head of this oil-rich country. It took outside intervention to remove him from power. Tall, proudly sporting a moustache, the 63-year-old former bus driver frequently recalled his origins and liked to cultivate this image of a man of the people, simple and down-to-earth. He enjoyed invoking common sense, butchering English words, talking about baseball, or his evenings watching television with his wife, Cilia Flores, the " First Fighter ," a former prosecutor omnipresent on the Venezuelan political scene. Aged 69, she was also arrested. ELSEWHERE IN THE NEWS: Here's why vehicle prices have increased so much since the pandemic It's an act he puts on. As for English... he was Foreign Minister for years [2006-2013]. It's hard to believe he doesn't have a perfect command of it , said a diplomatic source. By making him his heir in 2012, a year before his death, Hugo Chavez (1999-2013) had praised one of the young leaders with the best abilities to take the helm of Venezuela. That's the actual headline and picture that start THE ARTICLE THAT YOU CITED, and the first 7 paragraphs of the article, unedited. I just copied and pasted. How is that "qoute-mining and generating false outrage"? How is Shady's post in any way misleading? He seems like he might be a swell, guy, right? If Carney was the one who captured him, do you think the descriptions would still be the same? Would the title still call him a "Man of the People", or would it sound more like "Despotic Narco-Tyrant"? Does "Man of the People" quote remind you of Suleimani's left4rd characterization.... "a father figure of the Iranian people"? TreeBeard, I'll grant you this much: You have all the humanity, morality and decency of Venzuela's "man of the people" and Iran's "beloved father figure". -
POLITICAL PREDICTIONS FOR 2026
WestCanMan replied to Barquentine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My prediction: Left4rd cultists continue to find Carney sexy and glorious no matter how much worse things get. -
Wrongo, sport. This isn't an international court of law, so it's just our own opinions and interpretations being bandied about here. You said Maduro was a drug dealer - that's your own opinion, as expressed above - and we are both aware that's the case. (Your quote: "selling drugs to Americans is NOT MURDER and NOT a capital offense") So, in effect, you admit that an alleged drug dealer was arrested, and I said that he will have his day in court in front of a democrat judge. He's not deal like Osama, with no trial. If a Dem judge finds Maduro innocent, he will go free. How can you have a beef with that? The people of Venezuela don't. They are celebrating. There are no angry anti-Trump rallies there. So is your official position that Maduro is "not a drug dealer/probably not a drug dealer"? And Robo, I'm not gonna forget that you opined that Trump shoulda somehow unilaterally placed Machado in charge; a move that has no constitutional basis: "Trump just put Madero's VP in charge, not the democratically elected Machado, whom he has cavalierly DISMISSED."

That's neither here nor there: you're trying to make the claim that the US can't do something in Venezuela that you supported them doing in Ukraine. What's the deal, Beave? Is Zelensky illegitimate? Did the US Gov't commit a crime in Ukraine? Or do you have a different tune to sing about how international laws apply in Venezuela now?
-
It's not so easy as the US just unilaterally declaring who did or did not win a foreign election, and place the person who they consider the winner in power. It's quite odd that you object to the mere arrest of a person who you consider to be a drug trafficker, who will get a trial by a demonrat judge, but you would support Trump unilaterally choosing a new leader for Venezuela who does not meet their constitutional criteria for becoming leader.

I'm gonna give you props for trying robo, but FYI regardless of whether or not the US Congress approved something doesn't make it legal in international law. At the end of the day, the US still invaded a sovereign country and killed a foreign citizen - Osama Bin Laden. In this instance, they just arrested someone. Silly little boy. As commander in chief, Trump has the same authority authority to engage in acts of war that congress does, it just requires congressional approval after a period of 60-90 days: under the War Powers Resolution, the president can commit U.S. forces to military action for up to 60 days without congressional authorization, followed by a 30-day withdrawal period, making a total of 90 days without explicit approval. The president committed his forces to military action legally: FYI he's not limited to "killed a minimum of 3,000 people" as a reason to start a war. It was 100% as legitimate as the action taken against Bin Laden So you're admitting that Maduro is a narco-trafficker, and that he ships drugs to the USA. Thanks for that. Give yourself credit for telling the truth for once. This is a red-letter day for you. The good news is: the guy that you consider a narco-trafficker was taken into custody during a legitimate military operation, and now a Democrat judge has the option to set him free. 🥳

If Venezuela's top opposition party member, being a Nobel Prize winner, thinks of this as a move to help Venezuelans, who are Anderson Cooper and Beave to say otherwise? Trump just pulled off a nearly bloodless coup, ousting a violent dictator and purging a downtrodden country of it's despotic leader. Of course left4rds are gonna get pissy, because they would hate the cure for childhood cancers if Trump created it, but this is not a negative development for Venezuelans, and that's the main consideration here. The benefit to the rest of the Americas is also obvious to those of us who don't wear CNN-coloured blinders.

Hold the phone! Every attack by one country against another, in the whole history of the world, was just made illegal this week. We have to re-draw all of our borders back to where they were in 1963. No, wait, 1675. 1423. 1386? 1004? 321? 321 BC? 2000 BC? Hold on a sec... This makes Zelenski's presidency illegal as well. Does that mean that Russia owns all of Ukraine?

Who got conned, robo? Did you vote Dem to see low-income Americans hurt by higher rents for slum housing and lower wages? 'Cuz that's what you got.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoebus_cartel The cartel took over market territories and lowered the useful life of such bulbs, which is commonly cited as an example of planned obsolescence.[1] Corporations based in Europe and the United States, including Tungsram, Osram, General Electric, Associated Electrical Industries, and Philips,[2] incorporated the cartel on 15 January 1925 in Geneva,[3] as Phœbus S.A. My apologies, robo, for highlighting your ignorance again.

Parallels between Hitler and Trudeau are direct and on-point: health passport/pseudovax passport to discriminate against dissidents freezing bank accounts of dissidents outright control of the MSM book-burning/control over social media control of the judiciary gun control vile hate messaging against dissidents ("the unvaxed are very often racists/misogynists", and constant accusations of racism against Canadians, including blatantly false accusations of genocide) lured rubes under his control with the promise of socialism created concentration camps for the dissidents who were the subject of their hate screeds Trudeau just barely stopped shy of putting the unvaxed in "voluntary covid isolation camps", Treebeard. I was told to quarantine and threatened with fines upwards of $250,000 if we got caught breaking quarantine, just because I went to Bellingham and came back without getting tested. How close did I come to getting sent to a "voluntary self-isolation camp" where multi-vaxxers like yourself expected me to die? Think about this. It's real. We lived it all: April 2022: It's 42.km to the place I went to in Bellingham, where the vast majority of the population was "vaccinated". Covid had already been out for 2.25 years at that point, and the vast majority of Canadians had already had it. 85% of our population already had a "safe and extremely effective vaccine". And... I had to get tested plus quarantine for 14 days when I came back to Canada or face insane fines. Now contrast that with January 29th, 2020: China is 9,500 km away, across an ocean, and it was covid central. Covid was a rampant death machine there at the time, but just a handful of Canadians ever had covid at that point. No one had any vaccines or knew of any other medication that might help fight it. And... Chinese citizens could fly to Canada with no quarantines and no testing, and then walk anywhere they wanted, freely. Why was it free and easy to come here from covid central when covid wasn't really here yet and there was no known protection, but there were fascist-level controls on Canadians who were barely outside of the country for a few hours after we already had the "safe and effective vaccine" and most Canadians had already had it? To you, that was all the epitome of "perfect, reasonable science". Not because you're stupid enough to come up with such stupid ideas yourself, but because that's what you were told to believe. You were told to see things that way, so you did, regardless of the fact that you were aware of how absurdly f'd up and backwards both situations were. IOW, you described Trudeau's birthday suit as a golden tuxedo with shimmering gemstones that had mystical healing qualities, just like you would have described Hitler's birthday suit in 1933. Of course you feel like you would have stood up against Naziism, but you are following in the exact footsteps of the early 1930s Germans: You will continue to echo every one of Trudeau's hate messages. You will continue to defend Trudeau/Carney from any accusation of lying or wrongdoing. You will continue to celebrate every step that the LPoC (and DNC) takes towards further control of the media, judiciary and police. You will continue to defend vile slander against LPoC political opponents, regardless how unsubstantiated the accusations are You will continue to support TNI members and their disinformation campaigns/unscrupulous control of information You will continue to celebrate gun control and increased power of central authority You will continue to condone cronyism and authoritarianism disguised as socialism You will continue to parrot blatantly false MSM narratives as if you have personally witnessed that BS first-hand, even though you know that you are lying Relax, TreeBeard. Your fellow cultists have your back. They are still goose-stepping right alongside you, soldat.

MAGA is goo-goo-ga-ga for spectacle
WestCanMan replied to Radiorum's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
As a Demmie cultist, no doubt you think it's normal for the president to sleep all day and make poopies in his diapy while some unelected cultists run the auto-pen across documents that the president has never seen or heard of, but you and I both know that Trump isn't being led around by the hand like Biduhhh was. Are you serious? You really think that Trump is being controlled by someone else? GFYS, terrorist-lover. -
Honestly, separate your comments using proper punctuation and more paragraphs. It's really hard to read what you write. 1, 2 and 3 are all in the same paragraph, yet I'm having a hard time understanding how they are all so closely related. 3) is a run-on sentence that starts with you leaving Owen sound and then talks about your health in Mississauga, a conservative councillor, and an eviction. It's easily two or three paragraphs worth of content, not one convoluted sentence, but some of it isn't even necessary for your story. The councillor story is more likely for a separate thread. 1) They probably post here. 2) Yup. They definitely post here, or at the very least they go to same cult meetings that CrakHoBarbie and Ex-Flyer go to. But that sentence is another book lol. Break that shit down next time - it is so hard to read. 3) WTF is going on with that sentence? Breathe into a paper bag for a few seconds and then take another run at it. Honestly, I'm trying to help you out here bro. I know exactly what you're going through, being surrounded by a bunch of braindead cultists who bark propaganda like cracked-up seals with red peppers stuck in their arses, but you gotta let some shit slide, David. Just remember: you are dealing with cultists, and 99% of what you say is just gonna bounce off of their iron dome of confirmation bias, so there's no point in getting emotional about it. At some point, for your own sake, you gotta rise above their shallow virtue signalling and laugh or they'll drag you down into their sewer. But, regarding 1), my guess is that you said something that embarrassed your family in front of one of their cult-leaders. Did you talk to an MLA or MP that day? A mayor? Someone's new man-bun boyfriend or blue-hair GF? So many run-on sentences, David. I know you're emotional, but try to use sentences and punctuation. You can charge them with assault. That's your right, and you definitely should. Ask to see the police report and listen to the 911 call. She has no right. Send the cops to get it. Your mom is probably CrakHoBarbie. Go to the Repolitics forum on her computer. I laugh when I think about these left4rds getting offended at comparisons between themselves and Nazi supporters. I can 100% guarantee that anyone who went along with the vax-fascism narrative would have helped load Jews onto cattle cars. And guess what... All the terrorist supporters (Jew-haters) are leftists/socialists again in 2026. They don't have anything on video - LW'ers don't record anything because they don't want the truth on film. And if they did film anything you'd already know about it.

Is the CBC a Legitimate News Channel
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Perfect. I only have 1 question for you Mike: Does the CBC cover every story that is of a political nature with a steep slant in favour of the LPoC?
