  1. That's a huge joke, top to bottom. People aren't upset about "favouring international projects". People are upset about hundreds of millions of dollars going to projects that were never talked about during elections, etc. Like for example when Trudeau won the election and he just went on a huge overseas spending spree. If he knew that he was going to give all that money away he should have told us first. The incredibly stupid part is the bit about Trump being an anti-Semitic dog whistler. You could just as easily call Ellen Degeneris a gay-basher. Trump has supported Israel more than any other POTUS. There's no one on earth who thinks that they can attack Israel with impunity while Trump is President. If he's really an anti_semite then he's doing a phenomenal job of hiding it.
  2. Nope. I'm talking about people down at our level who keep repeating obvious lies that they hear on the news, or from politicians. And people who shut down polite, factual discussions with misplaced accusations because they don't like the truths that are coming out.
  3. I see so many examples of people parroting things that they have to know aren't true ("Dr Ford is a credible accuser", "walls are racist", "walls are more expensive and less effective than a combination of drones and other means of surveillance and capture", "it's too early to say that the guy who yelled praises to allah while he was running people over in a van was an islamic terrorist, but this is just more proof that we need more gun control", "right wingers are the biggest terrorist threat in the world", etc), and I constantly see people who just won't own up when they are caught lying, or who try to use accusations to stop people from telling the truth. It's often said that polite public discourse is dead, but honestly it doesn't stand a chance in an age where lying is considered to be no big deal.
  4. The threat of impeachment and the perceived seriousness of the FBI investigation were enough to get the Dems control of the House. They want to use that to their advantage again. They definitely can't admit defeat on collusion now, despite the fact that they have no evidence. It would just prove that they were lying, because they kept on acting as if they were seeing real evidence, and that evidence has been proven to not exist. And the only other things that they can run on in the next election are climate change and socialism. Can those issues beat his economy, or his successes in foreign affairs? Nope. They need collusion to offset those. And honestly, collusion is like the perfect accusation, because it can never be fully disproven. You could easily prove that someone said something if you had good audio or video evidence of it, but how can Trump prove that he didn't say anything inappropriate to Russians? He would literally need to have video evidence of every second of his life for the past 4 years in order to prove that he didn't do a specific thing that just takes a few minutes. There is evidence that the Russians repeatedly offered help, which would suggest that he never accepted their previous offers, or (DUN dun dunnnnnnnn) even that it was an attempt at entrapment, but that's weak. Just like in the Kavanaugh case, Democrats have somehow conned a large percentage of the public into believing that the burden of proof lies with the accused. You can't tell the Dems' idiotic faithful that placing the burden of proof on the accused is basically the death of freedom itself, because so many of them literally eat out of the Dems' hands.
  5. They SHOULD BE killing the Dems, but the Dems' base is so well-indoctrinated and so moronic that it's just barely making a dent lol.
  6. They are all full of negative attacks and idealistic nonsense for the most part. I think that Sen Warren is campaigning that she chugs brewskies in the Kitchen and O'Rourke goes to the dentist?
  7. I think that was CBC and CTV's campaign slogan. It did backfire though.
  8. The Dems are throwing out crap candidates for a reason. They're by and large a bunch of morons. They throw around platitudes like they're trying to put out a fire, and they manage to suck in the casual observers, but on policy they're weak and stupid. Honestly they go after Trump like he's the devil, but they just gush about Obama. It's like they completely missed what happened in the past 11 years. Obama inherited an Iraq that was stable, and Syria was solid. Obama pulled out all the Americans from Iraq, and just left a bunch of tanks, artillery, mortars etc, which essentially armed islamic state. The middle east turned to absolute crap. It was still getting worse when he left. Trump inherited that and put a hasty end to it. Do Dems honestly talk about Obama's abysmal failure and Trump's success? Nope. They're crap, top to bottom. "Walls are racist" lol. Spare me.
  9. "I'd rather not see Trump" isn't the same as "essentially anyone is better than Trump."
  10. It depends on where you draw the line for "able to conduct a conversation". If you set a vague target like that you could get vastly differing test results.
  11. I doubt that Vcr or any other Cdn city can ever be a world class tech hub. Places like India and China have 40x our population and wages are lower. We also have the States to compete with. We're not that far from Silicon Valley, on a global scale. And Seattle is actually our nearest big city.... you know....Microsoft. Alberta still has a lot of agriculture obviously, but a province like Alberta will never have a great manufacturing base with such a small population, and such high energy demands compared to warmer climates.
  12. Self-sustaining is awesome if you're talking about energy reliance. We do well with hydro-electric, oil and LNG. I'm talking about our overall GDP though. Real Estate, construction, retail, finances, services etc all take a hit at the same time. People don't get their nails done, or build additions to their homes when they're laid off.
  13. I didn't even know about that. Crazy stuff. They probably just wanted to pile up some charges on him so that they could offer him a reduced sentence for making things up about Trump.
  14. Now you're just chucking stupid crap against the wall to see what sticks. That was really pathetic Argus. Canada is the country that's alienating other nations right now, in a big way. He pissed off Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, China, America, and the only people that he has improved our relationship with is terrorists. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-india-atwal-controversy-1.4546502 https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/lilley-trudeau-flirts-with-terrorist-supporters-angers-india-again We're publicly pandering to actual terrorists like no other country outside of Iran. And if you recall, it wasn't Trump that started off the spat with us, it was the other way around. Strength is hugely important, and being smart is 90% of it. Trump was brilliant in Syria. Brilliant. Trump came into a situation where the US was committed to deposing Assad and Islamic State was growing like a weed in Syria and Iraq. Trump made a huge concession, and made the USA look like the good guys, when he publicly dialled back America's intention to get rid of Assad. Assad took that for weakness, and gassed some folks. Trump made the USA look strong by bombing Syrian targets. So for the second time, Trump made the US look awesome. Russian and Syria piled on huge threats of disaster if the US did anything so stupid again. Syria gassed more people, Trump bombed them again. Russia and Syria did nothing to retaliate. They just sat there with egg all over their faces. Final score Trump 3 full points, Syria zero, Russia zeeee-roooo. Remember Trump was a noob politician who suddenly became POTUS going up against a well-seasoned Russian leader. Putin manipulated his way up through the ranks of the KGB to take over the country, and was then able to seize power in a very meaningful way. He took over Crimea and laughed at the world. Obama just kept navel-gazing the whole time. Then Putin came up against Trump and got pancaked. I know you wish that Trump was stupid enough to wrestle for control of Syria. Sun Tzu knew the cost of waging foreign campaigns a couple thousand years ago. Trump knows it now. He's not going to fight against Russia and Syria in Syria. With all the casualties and starving people there Trump isn't going to extend that war, Americans would never stomach it, they'd have a hard time winning, they'd look like monsters..... I know that you don't get it. Trump does. That's why he's POTUS and you're just Argus. Then there's also this: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/24/world/middleeast/american-commandos-russian-mercenaries-syria.html From a liberal rag no less. The world outside of the US went to shit under Obama, and the country was on fire internally for his last two years. Racial division was exploding. Now it's just the US economy that's on fire. Islamic State is no longer a land-owner. The US hasn't made any enemies abroad since 2016 (that's unique) and they're standing up to the Chinese economy. You have nothing to contribute to the anti-Trump argument but hollow insults. Now you know how CNN feels. You say that he's stupid, crazy, etc but you can't point to anything tangible that has gone wrong under Trump yet. He hasn't given an inch to NoKo. Russia. China. Iran. He hasn't made a mistake internationally.
  15. It's sure weird how so many attempts were made by "the Russians" to get Trump to collude with them. And how US Intelligence just happens to have so much evidence of it. "Hey, Trrrumpy, come and see vut inforrmation ve have on HHHeelary."
  16. I doubt that the absence of helmets will increase our premiums. They’ll just be dead, and dead people don’t cost as much as people who lose legs or are just paralyzed. It’s a choice they gladly make. I have more respect for someone who rides with a turban than someone who aborts a healthy, late-term fetus. Way more.
  17. I gained a ton of respect for the American voter after that election. They were literally browbeaten day after day in the newspapers, news shows, late night comedies, by stand up comedians, actors, actresses, singers.... you name it. It was a full-court press on the American voter to vote for Hillary and they saw through it all. Kudos. CTV and CBC led the majority of Canadians around by the nose. It was pathetic. We'll pay the price for generations to come.
  18. It seems as though you and I are switching sides on this one. I'm going full Lib here. The Sikhs proved how serious they were about wearing the turbans 70 years ago when they opted out of putting steel on their head to save their lives. It's that important to them. They have their hill to die on, and they're not harming anyone else by being there. I say let them have it. It was harder for me to accept that they would wear their headdress in a mess hall, legion, what have you, but they literally earned that right.
  19. I meant to say 6 billion "other" people, my bad. IE, 4x the population of India, just like I said. The whole rest of the world has to be below 520 religious-bigotry-inspired murders to slide in below India. Should be easy, because theoretically India is the absolute worst of all 200+ countries...... Let's pretend the total is half of what it should be. That means that the rest of the world should come in under 1,040 of those types of murders..... Still not even close. You remind me of one of those people who thinks that a country like Pakistan, which sentences people to death for talking about other religions, could somehow not be the most bigoted place on earth.
  20. And Hillary losing in the states that she didn't even bother to campaign in lol. LOVE IT! "But that's not one of the 1,000 reasons why I lost. SCRATCH THAT! Why the election was stolen from meeee!!!!!!" Hehehe. IMO she lost when she said "basket of deplorables". She alienated some of her own people when she went down to Trump's level, and she literally eradicated any chance of voter apathy on Trump's side. She basically dared them to come out and vote. It's weird how fake news spawned the election loss, which spawned the whole investigation, which spawned another two+ years of fake news. It's like the movie "Dirty Cop" or whatever with Harvey Keitel, where he just keeps digging himself in deeper and deeper. It's painful to watch.
  21. OMG, if the NYT and/or CNN write something that's anti-Trump you gotta know it's true, because they rarely say anything bad about him and their track record is SOOOO SOLID! [/sarcasm] Honestly if CNN/NYT covered everything that was fit to print that would be fine, or if they didn't try to spin everything that comes out that would be fine. But truth be told they would be the epitome of propagandists if it wasn't for CTV.
  22. 1) Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean that other people can't make the connection. If she just barely lost then the pollsters would still look bad. She got throttled. The pollsters were not close, at all. They look like morons. 2) Winning with a 10% chance should happen as often as losing with a 90% chance of victory, so I'd say the exact same thing. That being: "I won't put much stock in what those people say in the future". Did I make conspiracy theories or merely allude to conspiracy theories? Look again.
  23. I'm saying that Trump was far stronger than a very popular US President. Who's going to be stronger? Bernie? Buitigieg? Biden? The only Dem who's tough on China is Schumer and he's not running for Prez. No one will stand up to China like Trump is. No one. The US isn't going to control every square inch of the middle east. They're unpopular enough as it is at their current level of influence. You never want to spread yourself too thin. And if you think about all of the things that people in the ME have to hate the US for, Trump didn't do any of it. He was even popular for standing up to Assad. You could have stopped right there and you would have been more accurate. Trump let the people most capable of handling that job, handle that job. That's what real leaders do. They delegate instead of micro-managing. So in a sense Trump didn't do shit, but he did a good job of it. If Trudeau didn't do anything it would have been a massive improvement lol.
  24. As the days go by it's continually looking less and less like Trump colluded with Russians, and more and more likely that Dems and members of the intelligence gathering community were guilty of committing actual crimes leading up to and during the investigation.
  25. How strong was he compared to Barack "here's a whole airplane full of Billion$" Obama. His other aliases include : "Please don't murder our sailors", "I love riots, looting and cop-killing", "My red lines don't mean squat", "We can't really be expected to protect that embassy", etc. Trump bombed Assad for being a douche, and when Assad and Putin's mighty Russia threatened a massive backlash for future silliness, Trump gave them another butt-full of missiles. Trump actually fought and killed of Islamic State terrorists en masse. How long did Obama say it would take to pry that "Jr Varisty terrorist squad" loose? LMAO, Trump is Winston Churchill, Obama was General Custer.
