  1. I think it's extremely on point. If a white/jewish actor named faked an attack on himself by muslims it wouldn't have just magically "gone away" when there was so much evidence. He wouldn't have just gotten his old job back. Democrats who pretend to care about racial injustice wouldn't turn their backs on it. He was gay and black, so his fake hate crime by fake "white racist Trump supporters" was huge news on CNN when it was apparently real, and CNN isn't interested in the story of who's covering up his hate crime.
  2. 1) It's a kindness. Other nations should do it too. No one else does. 2) Of course it's logical if I said it 3) which people, re: what? 4) That list is pretty tiny compared to all the things that happened in the world over the centuries, don't ya think? I don't see Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, China, Japan, and a whole lot of other countries on that list. 5 & 6) I never said that any odd or even number of wrongs make anything that people did right. Just normal. And who has been gracious enough to become accountable of their own free will eyeball? I'd like to see your list. The Turks still deny an entire genocide of over 1M people that happened not so long ago. In Pakistan their government still kills people just for talking about other religions. Entire countries full of people are still pure shit, almost down to the last man. I think we're doing pretty terrific here.
  3. There is no "white" guilt. The concept is 50% racist and 50% stupid. If all white people voted on war and expansion/colonization or whatever you want to call it, and invented it, then there would be white guilt. People did what they did, that's it. Do you see people of spanish descent in Mexico feeling Spanish guilt? People of Portuguese descent in Brazil feeling Potuguese guilt? Muslims in India feeling muslim guilt? No? So if their skin blends in there's no guilt? I never said that concept was being applied here. People all did the exact same things all over the world regardless of what race they were. To say that white people should feel a higher level of guilt than anyone else is racist/moronic.
  4. If I wanna relate to you I need to smoke a lot more reefer and do a lot less thinking.
  5. 1) Ceasing oil sands production would probably result in a whopping .0000001% reduction in global CO2 emissions. Canadians would just import more oil from the US and abroad, and our entire country's CO2 emissions are probably less than what comes from within a 50km radius from the city center of Beijing or Shanghai. Furthermore, we probably need the extra CO2 in the atmosphere to help grow food fast enough for 7B people 2) It's not like buying/using an electric car has no carbon footprint or environmental impact, and they do have their serious disadvantages.
  6. IMO it's just backlash to political "correctness" from the left, AKA divisive bullshit. I'm so sick of seeing revisionist-history morons pontificating about slavery, white privilege, systemic racism, the "really bad Crusades", "islamophobia", misogyny, "homophobia", etc, the last thing I'd ever do is vote for PM navel-gazer and his everyone-over-Canadians philosophy. My family fought in wars, worked in coal mines, built bridges, they were homesteaders on the prairies, and their contributions to society and the world in general totally dwarf anything that they ever received for free from the government, and they sure as hell never owned any slaves. I feel zero "white guilt" - all humans in general are guilty as sin. The worst thing that can ever happen to you is for another human to have absolute power over you.
  7. Agreed. In particular, we treat the ocean like a big garbage/sewage dump, we're overfishing, we're stripping too much marine life off the bottom when we drag nets, we kill too many whales and sharks.... I wonder how many more generations of people will think of the ocean as a place to swim, or will think of fish as safe to eat because of all tercury, PCBs, pesticides, radiation, etc.
  8. Lol. It's soooo shiny! And the best part is that people will only have two choices when they talk about it: they can marvel at the greatness of Trudeau's new humanitarian achievement or be forever known as hateful, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, religiously-bigoted, alt-right FASCISTS! Seriously, if you utter a word of doubt regarding this project you're instantly guilty of all those things. Did I say project, as in "the Projects: https://newsone.com/1555245/most-infamous-public-housing-projects/
  9. I can't even believe how hypocritical and stupid Dems and their voters are. Latest: Trump is going to declassify some documents from the Russia probe and the Dems and some of their puppets, Brennan, are furious. Basically the hue and cry is "Let's investigate Trump over claims that we know to be phony and when they are eventually debunked, instead of admitting that we lied about the validity and seriousness of the original claims, let's pretend that there are new things to investigate that are super-important. And then let's ..... HEY WHAT'S GOING ON? TRUMP IS RELEASING INFORMATION ABOUT CRIMES THAT WERE DISCOVERED DURING THE RUSSIA PROBE!!!!! THAT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!!! WHO WOULD LEAK EVIDENCE OF CRIMES!!!!!' lmao.
  10. You seem to think that you're really onto something here. Like you may have actually gotten one over on somebody. Pray tell eyeball. quote away.
  11. Right. So what was it exactly that you so vehemently disagree with?
  12. Compared to the minimum standard for communicating with other people as an adult. That means don't be disingenuous, or baseless accusations, don't tell any lies or misleading half-truths, try to own up to accurate criticism, acknowledge when other people make an appropriate counter-point, etc. When you can do that you'll find that you have literally nothing in common with people who watch CNN or CTV. Your skin should crawl when someone on CNN says that Dr Ford's allegations were "credible", or when you hear CTV say that our Lib gov't needs to regulate social media because, among other things, " there's too much misinformation about SNC Lavalin".
  13. Again, grow up. I pointed out how idiotic it was for wiki to reference "the Trump administartion's anti-Semitic dog-whistling" as if that's a thing. I also pointed out the fact that your posts are full of unsubstantiated insults and you can't get out of that no matter how many more baseless insults you put out there.
  14. There was no substance at all to your post eyeball. Just insults. If I say that all Liberals are idiots does that qualify as a substantiated claim just because...? I don't say such things without proof because I'm not a Lib.
  15. Speculation is still speculation eyeball. And globalization, as far as Canadians are concerned, just refers to Trudeau and his antics, plus the global immigration pact that Trudeau signed. Which is exactly what I said it was.
  16. "Impeach Trump!" and "Russian Collusion!" were the rallying cries that got Dems control of the house. They don't appear to have a "Plan B" right now unless you count social media posts of Pocahontas drinking beer and Beto going to the dentist lol. "Green New deal!" lmao.
  17. Your whole post is 50% insult and 50% speculation with zero substance eyeball. Is that why you posted the definition of weasel into it?
  18. The evidence was right below. You pasted it into your reply. I don't need "evidence" to prove that their post was just based on speculation of what people who don't like "globalism" are upset about. I could say that "Liberals are upset that they can't kill babies 1 minute before the due date" and write about that. The article would be garbage. Not all Libs are that extreme. Are you unable to connect the dots, like at all? This thread is about toadies who repeat obvious lies that they hear on the news. Not about your opinion of Trump, or hard hard you think it is for people to justify their support of him. This is off-topic, but the truth is that Trump made a lot of campaign promises and he's either succeeded in implementing them or he's working on them. I'm not sure what other criteria are more important than that, but he's also doing an amazing job on foreign policy and defeating islamic state. Most of the people who don't like him still focus on attacking him over Russian collusion, which has been proven to be unsubstantiated. Off-topic again eyeball, but FYI Liberal politicians attract all the anti-Semites and terrorists/terrorist supporters. So there ya go. Lowlifes get to vote too. Some vote one way, some the other. Liberals are also by far the biggest liars of all. Some of the various topics were mentioned in the OP and others have been discussed elsewhere on this forum. If you have some credible accusations of conservative followers telling actual lies then that's what you need to being to this debate eyeball. You're down by a whole lot to zeeeeeroooooo.
  19. I thought that when people were speaking truth to power they were supposed to be trying to get the government to be more truthful, ethcial and honest, not just making up things and screaming them at other people.
  20. Eyeball, I wasn't really talking about people who are: I was talking about people who quote CNN and the Dems on here and are nailing the CNN talking points perfectly. They aren't getting it wrong at all, and they're not inserting their own commentary to try to make sense of things, or cover CNN's tracks. They're talking as if they believe what they're saying. For example, Dr Ford's testimony was a joke. She didn't remember where or what year it happened, she named witnesses who never heard of her story, she made claims like "I didn't know that the Republicans offered to fly out here to hear my testimony and my lawyers never told me", etc. When enough information was out there that every sane human knew her testimony was utter garbage people were still defending it, and even going on the attack by saying that anyone who didn't march in lock step with them was a misogynist. It's weird that people have the intellectual capacity to understand one side of an argument and debate it's merits just like the people who they're imitating, even though a small child could see that they're completely full of crap.
  21. That's a huge joke, top to bottom. People aren't upset about "favouring international projects". People are upset about hundreds of millions of dollars going to projects that were never talked about during elections, etc. Like for example when Trudeau won the election and he just went on a huge overseas spending spree. If he knew that he was going to give all that money away he should have told us first. The incredibly stupid part is the bit about Trump being an anti-Semitic dog whistler. You could just as easily call Ellen Degeneris a gay-basher. Trump has supported Israel more than any other POTUS. There's no one on earth who thinks that they can attack Israel with impunity while Trump is President. If he's really an anti_semite then he's doing a phenomenal job of hiding it.
  22. Nope. I'm talking about people down at our level who keep repeating obvious lies that they hear on the news, or from politicians. And people who shut down polite, factual discussions with misplaced accusations because they don't like the truths that are coming out.
  23. I see so many examples of people parroting things that they have to know aren't true ("Dr Ford is a credible accuser", "walls are racist", "walls are more expensive and less effective than a combination of drones and other means of surveillance and capture", "it's too early to say that the guy who yelled praises to allah while he was running people over in a van was an islamic terrorist, but this is just more proof that we need more gun control", "right wingers are the biggest terrorist threat in the world", etc), and I constantly see people who just won't own up when they are caught lying, or who try to use accusations to stop people from telling the truth. It's often said that polite public discourse is dead, but honestly it doesn't stand a chance in an age where lying is considered to be no big deal.
