  1. That looks like a video, not a quote from a book. Also, the video is completely out of context - not 100% sure to what she was referring. She did, after all, win the popular vote. But in any case, assuming she referring to herself, she was as wrong then as Trump is now based on how the US electoral system works. Nonetheless, she showed much more integrity and class than Trump has by conceding when the outcome was clear. Also, Biden won the popular vote by an overwhelming amount, more than any president ever. So by every measure, Trump lost and he and his followers should do what the democrats have done: concede the election, and move on to whining about it for the next four years.
  2. Yet, look at the difference between even the posters on this forum. There's a lot of diversity of belief on even, though most of us claim to be Canadian. I know, you'll come up with claims about attitudes toward women and gays, using the most extreme examples you can find to support your claim. You'll not consider thst born and raised Canadians from European backgrounds exhibit misogynistic attitudes toward women - even trying to control what they wear, beating and killing them if they are disobedient. Many non-immigrant Canadians also disapprove of homosexuality, and until fairly recently (1970s) we would jail them; as recently as the 90s, beating and killing gays wasn't entirely unusual. Just this year, we've introduced legislation to outlaw conversion therapy. Just as Canadians have a diversity of belief, so do immigrants. To other them by using the most extreme examples of behavior to define them as unacceptable in our country all is not a "Canadian" value, imo.
  3. I don't recall anything in that book that she thought the election was stolen from her. If you did, please post it.
  4. And also people born in a country fail to take on their country's value and carry out horrific crimes. Kinda makes my point that it takes a lot more than 1% or 2% of a population to change a culture. Also, conservative voters do make up about 30% of Canada's electorate. Muslims can help them, since they're more likely to agree with conservative social policy, if the Conservative party as a whole could rid themselves of their anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim tendencies. But likely the Conservative leaders think they'd lose more than they'd gain if they tried to stamp out those elements within their party and supporters. Demonstrating once again that the fear of Muslims taking over Canadian society is pretty far-fetched. Also, regardless of which government is in power, immigration levels and sources don't change much. Conservative politicians virtue signal about controlling immigration as much as JT virtue signals government concern over Indigenuous issues.
  5. Curing ballots. A legal activity permitted by some States, but which you declared illegal because Dems were doing it.
  6. Says the guy who tried to claim perfectly legal activities were illegal.
  7. Clearly you recognize how illogical it is to support from Trump what you'd reject from children-or Muslims.
  8. Not too difficult when I'm up against the likes of you and the rest of the Trump cultists.
  9. Can't answer eh. The logic hurts too much, is that it?
  10. You haven't answered the question ... can you explain the mindset of "it's only valid if it agrees with what I want to happen". How does that attitude generally work out for adults? What happens when toddlers whine and cry when things don't go their way? Why do you accept Trump acting this way, when you wouldn't accept it from a toddler?
  11. The failure is yours, if you seriously believe that 100% of the ballots were for Biden. There were doubtless some Trump votes in those thousands of ballots, just not enough to change the outcome. By the way can you explain the mindset of "it's only valid if it agrees with what I want to happen". How does that attitude generally work out for adults? What happens when toddlers whine and cry when things don't go their way? Why do you accept Trump acting this way, when you wouldn't accept it from a toddler?
  12. If democrats preferred to vote by mail rather then in person because fear of Covid, while republicans preferred to vote in person because covid threat was overrated why wouldn't the mail-in ballots be mostly democrat? Especially if they're from urban areas?
  13. Aside from generalizing Canadians, this demonstrates that you do not understand the concept of personal freedoms. BTW, very few Canadians or medical professionals support "children to be allowed to choose their gender before they're allowed to choose their bedtime". That's an extremist viewpoint used by anti-transgender people to fool gullible folks into thinking children are regularly being allowed or encouraged to change their gender. It's kinda the same method used by Islamophobes to persuade others that Muslims are bloodthirsty barbarians just waiting to behead non-believers.
  14. Oooohhhhh ... scary!
  15. You just make me laugh with your desperate attempts to offend.
  16. Well, fourth generation immigrant, but yeah. I guess you are Indigenuous then, not Black as I had previously surmised.
  17. I'd keep intolerant folks like both you and Marocc out. As far as I'm concerned, you guys are two sides of the same coin.
  18. So, your socialisation includes blaming the victim of a beheading, murdered for simply showing a drawing? Doesn't sound very "decent" to me.
  19. About 45% of Americans have some kind of comorbidity that makes them vulnerable to Covid. If we pretend for a moment that 80% of Americans become infected over a year or even two, that means 118,000,000 people at risk of serious illness. The mortality rate in the US is about 2.5%; that's about 2,970,000 dead. Of the ones who do not die, it's estimated that 10% will suffer long-term effects, whether months or years; that's about 11,880,000 people. This destruction far outpaces that of the seasonal flu, which results in between 12,000 and 60,000 deaths per year. No doubt, as researchers learn more about Covid, death rates will drop as treatment protocols improve and a vaccine is created. But to pretend this is nothing more than a bad flu that only kills old people/already sick people is just stupid. For now, our best defense is to limit the spread as much as possible. By the way, if you are overweight - not obese - just overweight, you are at higher risk of complications and hospitalization from Covid. If you are older, you are at higher risk of complications and hospitalization from Covid. If you are both older and overweight, you have two factors against you. And how many of us on this forum are under 50, and without those few extra pounds that both our Western lifestyle and age provide us?
  20. Education and a higher standard of living result in lower birth rates in all countries. Even third world countries show that trend. As has been pointed out to you time and again, immigrants take on the values of their host country, over time. This has been shown in multiple studies around the world. Not to mention, we've managed to push our "progressive" causes along, even in the last 50 years, despite the resistance of conservatives and Christians born and raised in Canada, fighting every step of the way. Those people comprised more than 50% of the population 50 years ago, yet "progressive causes" prevailed. Even now, Christians and conservatives are slow to accept "progressive causes" - witness abortion, transgender and indigenuous issues. If we can win our "progressive causes", despite the objections of 30% to 50% of the population, why do you assume that we'd regress because 3% of the population objects?
  21. Ballot curing is not illegal, despite how desperately Trump and his cultists might wish it were.
  22. So, people should be ok getting Covid every six months, or so? Exactly what I have been saying. When one doesn't know exactly what one is dealing with, caution is a better path than claiming it's "no worse than the flu", or that "hardly anyone dies" or advocating for "protecting the vulnerable, so the rest of us can go get sick, miss weeks or months of work, possibly become permanently disabled, or perhaps die." Stop hiding your head in the sand.
  23. I'm not very happy with Trudeau, but given what I see in the States and among some Canadian conservatives, I hesitate to support Conservatives. You help me remember that not all conservatives are batshit crazy and willing to accept and support any degree of corruption from "their guy". Thank you for being a voice of reason, and reminding me that you are probably more representative of conservatives than the ones I see on here and other sites.
  24. You need new material.
