There's other kinds of extremism besides Islam and Nazi. Your comment makes no sense.

Whichever vaccine makes it to market first, I wonder how long it'll be to get populations vaccinated. Heard on some show this morning that the States, for example, has 330 million people to vaccine and as an example, has only been able to test 121 million in the last 10 months or so. Could be a while before the vaccine reaches enough people to make life completely normal again. But at least it's coming.

It's a stunning example of cognitive dissonance that only in the States that Trump lost have any questionable activities occurred according to the Trump Cult. Past examples demonstrate that Republicans are just as likely to 'cheat' as Democrats. Perhaps, since voting irregularities are so incredibly widespread, Democrats need to start demanding recounts and delays in the States Trump won. I mean, why not? If there's a problem, there's a problem. If there's only a problem where Trump lost, that's just stupid.

Trump is creating the chaos he predicted. Meanwhile, he's losing in court, and even his lawyers are admitting-once in court- there's no fraud, because lawyers lying to the judge can get them disbarred. One of the Trump team's lawyers has now quit, having had enough of the BS. Hope you guys recover from your TDS soon.

Why wouldn't all political extremism be criminalized? Why specifically 'religiously motivated'? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Is America splitting apart?
dialamah replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The full article is more nuanced, a good read. Anyone who thinks Democrats/progressives are "to blame" for whatever ails America today are wrong. The dysfunction has been decades in the making, aided by successive governments and ideologies which nonetheless share the values of rewarding and protecting the already rich, while disenfranchising the poor and removing the middle class. IMO and all that. -
I listened to about half of it. Right wing media exists everywhere and influence people exactly the same. So I repeat:

Democracy Dies in Dems' Darkness
dialamah replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It'd be funny if the upcoming court cases and/or investigations demonstrated that Republicans did actually cheat, and Democrats did not. But what I expect is that they'll find nobody actually cheated in any significant way. -
Ok. Seriously? But I have to ask, why would you think that? Now, I'm not disputing that Biden could be bought off, he's a politician after all. But in what universe do you see him having less integrity than Trump?

Interesting study of Covid in Brazil, where herd immunity is apparently the goal of Balsonaro. More women get the disease, but more men die from it. Younger people die at a higher rate in Brazil than they do in other countries - no explanation is given for this in the paper. Regional Covid-19 Mortality in Brazil by Age - OSF Anyway, Brazil is only led by the US in number of cases at 163,000, so anyone who is interested can track how well herd immunity works at saving lives - and the economy. Although apparently Bolsonaro is spending like a mad Trudeau, so his people don't get too pissed off about his lack of response to Covid19. Here, "herd immunity" = way more death + 12% of GDP + 5% economic contraction. Hmmmm...

Seriously?

Yup. Yup. If so many Americans weren't so arrogant and gullible, Trump would not have succeeded in making the US gov into a laughingstock. That drug companies continued operations and have potentially developed a safe and effective vaccine isn't because of the Trump Administration, but in spite of it's corruption, chaos and incompetence. https://www.businessinsider.com/9-takeaways-from-coronavirus-documentary-totally-under-control-2020-10

America under President Trump
dialamah replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Perhaps you should point that out to @taxme, who claimed that democrats don't get the virus. -
Stuff yourself, Cheney. Trump and his minions lie as much as they breathe. If Bloomberg says that Germany funded the development of the vaccine, and a Trump administration website claims Trump's program did, I'm believing Bloomberg. If a reputable company develops a vaccine or treatment, then I'll trust that reputable company, regardless of where they obtained funding, pending additional information. Currently, I'm not in a hurry to take any vaccine, because rushed medications are prone to unexpected side effects. I don't really care what the Canadian government thinks. Unlike you, I don't believe that the sun rises and sets out of the azz of the current leader of the country. As for Trump-hating Canadians, plenty of Americans hate Trump too, or perhaps you failed to notice. And if you had a lick of decency, you'd not be here defending such an immoral shitstain for the past four years. Other leaders and previous American leaders are irrelevant in the here and now, and your constant insistence that Trump is no worse and no better is laughable at best.

America under President Trump

Democrats take the virus seriously, use masks and practice social distancing. Such a mystery how the recommendations of public health experts seem to work to keep from getting sick. Here's a job opportunity for you, Taxme. -
So?
-
I'm gonna trust Bloomberg before I trust a Trump administration website.
-
According to the article, Trump's warp speed thingy was irrelevant.
-
Although, it appears that Trump's regime contributed nada to the development of this vaccine - Germany actually made it happen.
-
We're talking about Trump and the US, not Trudeau and Canada. Nice attempt to deflect, but just demonstrates that what I said is true - vaccine development is not specifically a "Trump success".

Progress would have been made under any watch. Could even be that faster progress would have been made under a more sane leader.

Liberals to greatly increase immigration in coming years.
dialamah replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree that the actions of a few has changed our perceptions. Would it be fair if the culture of the US and Canada was judged as being barbaric because of gun crimes? After all, most people support gun ownership, but very few actually kill people with guns. If you don't trust media to show you the full truth about politucians (you don't like), why would you take at face value what they show you of Muslim reactions? I get it though; I'm guilty of a tendency to toss all conservatives into the "racist, white supremacist" basket because the media focusses so much on those elements on the right. I have to remind myself, regularly, that these are truly the minority fringe, and do not represent the majority of conservative views. I agree, and every successive government has done nothing. Its a disgrace.
