Restrictions Continue for the Vaccinated
CITIZEN_2015 replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't understand why it is so difficult for you to understand that 2 plus 2 is 4. You seem to be a highly educated mature person. If unvaccinated people carry a significantly higher risk of getting infected then they also statistically speaking have a higher risk of transmitting the virus because statistically they are more likely to carry the virus. -

People can read what I post too. i AM SAYING THE RISK OF BEING INFECTED IS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER IN UNVACCINATED PEOPLE AND HENCE THEY CARRY A MUCH HIGHER RISK OF TRANSMISSION. -

Incredible!!!!. Based on your post obese people pose the same risk to other people's safety as unvaccinated people who catch the virus much more likely and spread it much more likely. No, it is the responsibility of governments to make tough decisions for the good of citizens and vaccine passports is a step in right direction and a start. MAKE VACCINATION MANDATORY -

Wrong again. They both pose a risk of transmitting the virus but unvaccinated people pose a much greater risk. -

No, when a person makes unhealthy choices in lifestyle he or she only harms himself or herself and has the right to do so whereas in vaccine refusal case he or she harms himself or herself as well as others. A very wrong analogy. He or she has no right to do so. -
Restrictions Continue for the Vaccinated

Yes it is an unfortunate situation. I am going to be frank about it. The truth is that restrictions continues because A small minority of people in Canada out of complete selfishness or misinformation refused to vaccinate themselves and help to establish herd immunity. About two-thirds of new infections and 90% of hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated people (even though their numbers is less than a third of those vaccinated), and the other third of new infections ( vaccinated people) who were infected likely got that from n unvaccinated individuals. It is not their body their choice because their choice may cause harm and death to others in community. It is not their freedom of choice and right to choose because it infringes on the safety and lives of others in their community. Elected governments in Ontario and Quebec have introduced vaccine passports and will ban those who pose risks to the community from taking part in communal activities and make the life hopefully very hard on those people so that they are forced to make the right choice. Yes to vaccine passports and no to lockdowns and restrictions for vaccinated people. -

Not true. Unvaccinated people are 22 time more likely to be infected therefore they have a much greater chance of infecting others for this simple reason. -

It is more important that vaccine passports be applied to dense gatherings like bars and nightclubs where 100+ people gather in small space talking and dancing close to each other as well as restaurants. -
In April, we are locked down but started reopening end of June as per my response post citing lack of enough vaccination and reopening. Then you answer tour questions as why if you don't accept mine. Respectfully it is easy to ask question than trying to answer one. Surely you are not saying that this is because of vaccinations, do you?

Hypocrisy of "My Body, My Choice!"

Yes when all beds are taken up by selfish uninformed unvaccinated people then there will be no care, beds, doctors and burses left for those who are gravely ill for no choice of their own like heart and cancer patients. -
It is getting bad. Hospitalizations and deaths are no longer limited to small number. Ontario reported 865 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths on Thursday, the highest count of cases seen since early June, with the greatest number of infections among unvaccinated people since the province started keeping track earlier this summer. https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-multi-month-high-of-nearly-900-covid-19-cases-14-more-deaths-1.5570833

Hypocrisy of "My Body, My Choice!"

As I said before in any democracy there is a limit to freedom or choice. When that choice infringes on other people's rights and freedom or endanger their lives that freedom or choice is constrained by law and I have given many examples in the past like freedom of speech is limited if the speaker incites violence provokes like others to harm certain groups. -

There are always limits to the rights in any democracy. Individual rights end when it infringes on other people's rights and safety. You have the right to listen to loud music at home anytime? Not so neighbors will call the police on you. You have the right to drink and drive? Not so you will be arrested for endangering other people's lives. You are allowed to smoke in public places. Not so anymore as it was proven it causes health problem for others refusing to vaccine and going to public places is one clear case of that. By refusing to vaccine you are 22 times more susceptible to infection. That is allowing virus to enter and mutate in your body or transfer it to others. Hence you endanger other people who some may die as a results when you leave your home and go to public places like grocery. -
The governments couldn't just let them die because they were old. They used to be young some day those who built Canada now let them die? They were someone's mothers and fathers and grandmothers and grandfathers. The answer to that is more health care. A private health care system alongside public one that none of the parties talk about because they don't have balls.

I think Zeitgeist has a good point. If covid related deaths remain low then we shouldn't have further lockdowns. For example today in Ontario we had nearly 700 new cases but fortunately no deaths (vaccines are working very effectively) and as long as deaths are same as flu because of vaccinations of nearly 80% of population by fall then no more lockdowns should be imposed,

Immigration levels must come down. And for those who apply SELECTIVITY must be applied. Most of immigrants appear to be coming from third world countries with a culture not compatible to Canada's. Keep out those who don't respect human rights, lack respect for women and don't believe in women's rights and equality, lack respect for other religions and cultures, lack respect for democracy. IN SUMMARY KEEP THE GARBAGE OUT. We have enough garbage here already!.

They infected the whole world but prevented the disease from killing their own citizens. Compare US versus China's case numbers and deaths. Price of democracy. Sometimes for the good of all, governments have to make unpopular or even undemocratic decisions. Btw, the War Measures act was in Canada not China. If deaths and hospitalization remain low as I expect them to (because 80% of eligible people are fully vaccinated) then I do not believe in future lockdowns (Btw, I am the OP for this thread demanding no more lockdowns) but if infections and deaths surges then I will have to reluctantly support extreme measures in order to save lives.
