Considering that over 85% are vaccinated then the 15% unvaccinated form 66% f hospitalizations therefore being unvaccinated pose significantly more risk to public. Those with significant high risk will be banned not everyone, That is why we ban only drunk driving not driving as driving also poses risk of accident but drunk driving poses significantly more risk.

Please read my post you quoted. It says 60 times reduction for those in ICU not hospitals. Vaccines are vaccines not cure. Like all other vaccines they are not 100% effective so yeah I am not feeling safe around unvaccinated people. It is not selfish to ask people who otherwise spread virus to vaccinate themselves or stay home.

In the US all seniors will receive third dose vaccines but here in Canada in spite of millions of vaccines in the shelves that nobody wants and will soon expire and after a delay, eventually NACI came with a recommendation that in my view is incomplete. It recommends third dose of Covid vaccines for senior in long term homes only but not the overwhelming majority who live independently!!!!. \ https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/naci-recommendation-covid-vaccine-third-dose-sept-28-1.6192455 This is sad as data shows that vaccine effectiveness deteriorates with time. Pfizer effectiveness reduced from a pick of 95% a month after to only 50% and that is in younger people likely more in seniors. THIS IS A MISTAKE. THIRD DOSE MUST BECOME AVAILABLE TO EVERY SENIOR WHO WANTS IR. And later to anyone who wants it.

Yes so far so good. Though the weather has not been cold enough (like under freezing point) for all indoor gatherings. I am hoping with relatively high vaccination rate in Ontario at 80 to 65% of eligible population (hoping that the remaining 15% wise up too and soon) we can keep the number of daily infection below 1000 till the fourth wave is over especially with the under 12 joining vaccine eligibility soon.

Why Canadians re-elected a Liberal government?

The law enforcement is independent of government or political parties and they do the job without interference. Even the Prime Minister himself can be charged if he breaks the law. -

If I remember correctly a municipal worker who removed Liberal campaign signs during election campaign was both dismissed and charge. Same must have to this guy. He must be dismissed and charged or this is a corrupt government or party. -

If proven he should be charged and his election reversed. -
Enough is enough. Ban protests outside hospitals.

The right to abort a fetus is there as a fetus is still considered likely a part of a woman's body however after a few months when a heartbeat can be heard it is no longer part of a woman's body but a baby human and it is not anybody's right to kill it. -

Canada will ban it too as it was a campaign promise by Trudeau and Canadians re-elected him knowing this promise. An overwhelming majority of people support a ban on protest outside hospitals. -
The good news is that in Ontario though remained in stage 3 reopening since end of June, the number of new cases has stabilized between 600 to 900 daily. This is by far better than worst scenario projections of 9000 per day by October. I think the reason for relatively good number is relatively high vaccination rate of over 85% in Ontario as opposed to Alberta's 70% where Covid is causing havoc right now in that province. If we had a vaccination rate of 95% then we would have been likely a Covid-free province by now. Ontario is reporting a substantial week-over-week drop in the number of new COVID-19 infections today with fewer than 700 new cases confirmed over the past 24 hours. Provincial health officials logged 677 new cases today, up from 463 on Wednesday but down significantly from 864 last Thursday. The seven-day rolling average of new infections dropped to 665 today, down from 732 one week agWith 37,630 tests processed over the past 24 hours, the provincewide positivity rate is now 1.9 per cent, down from 2.4 per cent last week. Of the cases confirmed today, 529 cases, or 78 per cent, are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 148, or 22 per cent, are in those who are fully immunized. https://www.cp24.com/news/ont-reports-677-new-covid-19-cases-7-more-virus-related-deaths-1.5597321

We should be protecting the culture that is based on respect of women and other religions and believe in equal rights for women and religions. Those cultures contradictory to these values must be banned from entry to Canada. Yes we can. Bring back Capital punishment for rape. -

Quebec is to ban protests outside hospitals and schools. https://globalnews.ca/news/8212081/quebec-covid-anti-vaccination-protests-bill-coming/ Quebec is always ahead of rest of Canada in bringing good laws because it is the most advanced province and society in Canada. Rest of Canada will follow soon as banning protests outside hospitals was a Federal Liberal party platform upon which it was elected by the nation as the government of Canada. -

No, they are bluffing. Western Canada saw how bluffing worked for Quebec. People are born Canadians no matter where they are East, West, Centre, Quebec. It is in their blood and soul from birth to death. When it comes to casting the vote they chance their mind last minute. In 1995 in Quebec referendum, polls were saying separatists are ahead by 5 to 6 percentage point but the actual outcome surprised everyone and that was last minutes reminder of blood and soul Canadian. -

Well most refugees come from war torn regions. They are used to seeing violence and death and raised differently some with cultures totally different with Canada's peaceful and respect for all especially those from middle east and Africa. -
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02532-4 The third dose should be by choice not mandated. I am saying we do have so many unused vaccines about to expire so wht not use them?

Effectiveness of vaccines fade in half after 6 months from 95% to 50%. Anything under 50% effectiveness is not an acceptable vaccine. Third booster is needed 6 months after second shot. Besides we have so many in shelves that nobody wants and they will soon expire so why let them go to waste?

Why Canadians re-elected a Liberal government?
CITIZEN_2015 replied to CITIZEN_2015's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
He had no choice. Nobody could have known about the pandemic. It hit the whole world real hard and all major industrial countries borrowed heavily many hundreds of billions so that their badly hit nations could survive the storm. . He had to support Canadians in a very bad time. Any other party in power would have done the same. -
A minority Liberal government was elected in 2019 and Canadians have been in hell ever since then. With pandemic starting soon after followed by lockdowns, people losing their jobs and businesses and closures and housing prices through the roof, ballooning Federal budget deficit of close to 500 billion and then health crises as ICUs were filled up by Covid patients and economic crises and then rapidly rising inflation followed by a fourth wave at the end and suddenly the Liberal leader calling an election with all of above asking to re-elect them with a majority!!!!!, say what? So why do you think Canadians re-elected a Liberal government? I think mainly because the country (the whole world) was in a pandemic and economic crisis and a change of government usually in a crisis is not wise. People are afraid to change governing authorities in a crisis. Second and equally important Trudeau's government did a great job in securing enough vaccines and early for every Canadian who wishes to be vaccinated (better than any other foreign government) so a good majority of eligible voters (about 80%) who took advantage of vaccines were pleased with Liberal government's records on vaccines not to mention significant reductions in new hospitalization and death that followed. Then Liberals promised many extra billions on Health care and unlike Conservatives it was immediate help as the system tries to recover from the shock of pandemic. Many Canadians who took advantage of cerb were grateful to Liberal program at the time of need. Last but not least the manner in which the anti-Trudeau crowd behaved did not help his opponents at all.
