  1. I think Zeitgeist has a good point. If covid related deaths remain low then we shouldn't have further lockdowns. For example today in Ontario we had nearly 700 new cases but fortunately no deaths (vaccines are working very effectively) and as long as deaths are same as flu because of vaccinations of nearly 80% of population by fall then no more lockdowns should be imposed,
  2. Immigration levels must come down. And for those who apply SELECTIVITY must be applied. Most of immigrants appear to be coming from third world countries with a culture not compatible to Canada's. Keep out those who don't respect human rights, lack respect for women and don't believe in women's rights and equality, lack respect for other religions and cultures, lack respect for democracy. IN SUMMARY KEEP THE GARBAGE OUT. We have enough garbage here already!.
  3. They infected the whole world but prevented the disease from killing their own citizens. Compare US versus China's case numbers and deaths. Price of democracy. Sometimes for the good of all, governments have to make unpopular or even undemocratic decisions. Btw, the War Measures act was in Canada not China. If deaths and hospitalization remain low as I expect them to (because 80% of eligible people are fully vaccinated) then I do not believe in future lockdowns (Btw, I am the OP for this thread demanding no more lockdowns) but if infections and deaths surges then I will have to reluctantly support extreme measures in order to save lives.
  4. In my post I said it is based on level of hospitalization and if our health care system can cope if new cases surge very high.
  5. You are a complete and total madman and out of control. This is a debate forum not a war zone.
  6. Governments with balls introduce and pass emergency acts like war measures act. It is temporarily till the emergency situation ends. Random checks by law enforcement and heavy fines on violators will be enough. In this case vaccination should continue until the pandemic ends (based on past experience it takes 3 years) or an effective treatment or cure is found.
  7. I think the Federal government purchased them with good intentions as there were many calls for purchasing them but provincial governments rarely used them.
  8. The option with a brain would be to make vaccines mandatory for everyone and ban the unvaccinated from leaving home. New infections will be reduced by 90% and hospitalizations will be reduced even more. But we don't have people in authority with enough balls to exercise such options.
  9. What would happen in the US but question mark for Canada? The cases already up 7 times in Ontario since July. It is surging in Western Canada and Quebec and we are still in summer they say it will get a lot worse in the fall and winter and it will reach a point that our health care will be overwhelmed and the only choice will be to lockdown again so why you question that for Canada.
  10. I think a minority government is best especially now during a pandemic. Neither Conservatives nor Liberals should be given a blank cheque by having a majority to do whatever they wish.
  11. Yes I see your point. It seems that political correctness is also political suicide and this is unfortunate in a democracy. I am myself somewhat like that. I restrain myself hard not to post certain facts about certain sensitive topics or certain so called religion but I often fail as sometimes seen in my recent posts
  12. Not sure why they are both called Bill C-36!!!! https://exhibits.library.utoronto.ca/exhibits/show/bawdy/bill-c-36
  13. What on earth!!!!!!!. Bill C-36 was pushed by Conservatives not Trudeau. Trudeau just proved that he has no balls to change a bad legislation. Bill C-36 was pushed into parliament by then injustice minister, Peter Mackay under strict instructions by Harper (in order to win the votes of damn religious right) in a most undemocratic disgraceful manipulative manner excluding intentionallyl the workers who were affected most, calling their own witnesses and abusing their majority to pass the most undemocratic legislation. I am not debating what is in C-36 (imported from Sweden proven a failure), as that needs another debate thread as it is endangering lives and encouraging pimps in the security guard clothing but the manner in which it was pushed through Parliament like military or religious dictatorship by a Conservative government in Canada..
  14. I think that Liberals made a big mistake calling for an unnecessary election in the middle of pandemic. People are angry blaming governments, jobless, fed up with lockdowns, loss of jobs, bad economy and frustrated at anyone in power blaming everybody for their bad lives. Liberals asked them to re-elect them with a majority like past two years has been a hell!!!!!!
  15. Conservatives surging ahead of Liberals!!!!! https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/
  16. You should change that by becoming a politician yourself. Most if not all your posts are intelligent, honest and very logical. I know we did have our differences in the past however, I am beginning to realize that in many cases you were more right (correct) than me.
  17. You forgot to mention that O'Toole is opportunist. He moved so much to the center in order to cut into Liberal votes and feed on them that the line between Liberals and Conservative has been so blurred in this election it is hard to see which is which, Not to mention he walked over long standing Conservatives principals .
  18. Why on earth should anyone care out of how many tested????!!!!!, Whatever number who were tested of those tested positive an overwhelming majority were among the small minority who were unvaccinated. I repeat data released for Ontario today: of the 781 new cases, 634 involved people who were unvaccinated or had only one dose, while 147 involved fully vaccinated people. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated people make up 34 per cent of Ontario’s population but 81 per cent of Friday’s cases. Just make it clear what is that you are saying: Are you saying vaccines do nothing to reduce infections, hospitalizations and deaths? Are you saying vaccines are not safe in short and/or long term? What is that you are trying to prove?
  19. No this is not true. Please analyze data carefully before posting misleading conclusions. There are far more fully vaccinated people in Ontario (83% of eligible people) than partially vaccinated (less than 8.3%). In other words there are 10 times more fully vaccinated people than partially vaccinated people. So if you calculate per population it is far less for fully vaccinated people.
  20. Did you read the data? Apparently you don't read or think even about the data before you post!!!!. Data released said that 81% of new infections are among the 34% unvaccinated people as well as overwhelming majority of hospitalizations and deaths.
  21. Latest data in Ontario on the effectiveness of vaccines: Elliott said that of the 781 new cases, 634 involved people who were unvaccinated or had only one dose, while 147 involved fully vaccinated people. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated people make up 34 per cent of Ontario’s population but 81 per cent of Friday’s cases. The latest, continuously updated Ontario data indicates vaccination is associated with massive relative risk reductions in COVID-19 infection, hospitalization and possible ICU admission. https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-nearly-800-new-covid-19-cases-highest-tally-since-early-june-1.5563683
  22. But I don't understand HOW Canadians can choose or distinguish between the two (Liberals and Conservatives). They are both singing the same song. O'Toole has moved so much to the left on government spending, deficit, economic recovery (by more spending), as well as other issues that he might as well be the leader of Liberal party. What is that they are saying differently?
  23. So far just about everyone called me a Liberal supporter or Trudeau supporter. This is first of its kind!!!.
  24. Trudeau is going to lose> I don't think so. It will be Canadians who will lose no matter who is elected. They are all the same. Nobody has the balls to address real issues like: 1 - A commitment to a two-tiered Health care system. A private care alongside a universally accessible public Health care system. The current public system has become a killing ground for sick people with overcrowded hospitals, emergency cares, ling waiting list for surgeries and diagnostic tests and shortage of doctors and nurses. 2 - A return to Capital Punishment for violent offenders, especially crimes against women and children 3 - A serious cut in immigration levels when Canada is facing such challenging times and selectivity of immigrants to eliminated undesirable harmful immigrants from some Middle Eastern countries.
  25. Yes I also want to be a millionaire living in a mansion with 100+ young beautiful ladies Unfortunately dreams like this only materializes in our dreams and in real life we have to accept much less.
