  1. Our health care is in dire situation. We need a private health care system alongside the public one to take some load off the public system. People are dying because of shortages of beds, equipment, hospitals, doctors and nurses. None of the parties have committed to a private care but at least the Liberals have promised significant increases to the public one which gives me a ray of hope for better care in future.
  2. The Conservatives intend to cancel the Liberals' child care plan, which would free up $26.7 billion. Some of that money would go toward O'Toole's promised child care tax credit, which the PBO said would cost $2.6 billion over the next five years. One of the biggest financial commitments the Conservatives have made during the election campaign is to increase the annual rise in health transfers to the provinces from a minimum of three per cent now to a minimum of six per cent. The Conservatives say that adjustment to the Canada Health Transfer would inject $60 billion into health care over the next 10 years. The PBO's costing, however, says that boost in the health transfer would amount only to $3.6 billion in new spending between now and 2025-26. According to the PBO, 2021-22 would see no health care funding increase under the Conservatives' plan, but the extra funding in 2022-23 would amount to $304 million before rising to $329 million the following year, $901 million in 2024-25 and $2 billion in 2025-26. Unlike the Liberals, who are promising to allocate funds specifically for mental health under a proposed new Mental Health Transfer, the Conservatives say they would encourage the provinces to fund improved mental health services using the extra money in the Canada Health Transfer. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/conservatives-platform-costs-otoole-1.6168097
  3. Conservatives' platform released tonight is not a winner. Little increase for Health care over the next 5 years (unlike Liberals committing to huge health care spending) and cancelation of Liberal's child care plan. Lets see how the polls will change over the coming days. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/conservatives-platform-costs-otoole-1.6168097
  4. I did see a whole bunch of gravel pouring on Trudeau as he was getting on the bus. I guess the same camera or so many other cameras in there at the time must have caught something.
  5. No. Private health care. Those who can afford and choose will pay for their expenses like hospitals, tests and surgeries fpr faster better quality service as our public health care is broken under load. This way the existing current money and facilities will remain for those who choose public care and hence faster and better service for those who choose public care as well. A win-win situation. Not sure what is wrong with people but in the latest Nanos survey, 53 percent of Canadians did not favor Private health care (on the positive side 47% did). Very disappointing. People don't understand or are use to public health care and can't understand the enormous benefits of private care alongside public one.
  6. My God, you are one extreme cynical beyond anyone else!!!!!!! Seriously you go short of nothing to discredit your opponents. I have a better theory. Maybe they were KGB or Chinese intelligent agents working for Trudeau wearing PPC shirts trying to stage a coup to keep Trudeau in power!!!!!!
  7. Great news. It appears that for the last 3 days the number of new infections have subsided a bit. From 800 to 900 down to mid 500's. This may be due to increasing vaccinations thanks to government incentive for people to vaccinate. Lets hope this is a permanent thing not just a temporary fall. For the second time in the last three days, Ontario is reporting a week-over-week decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases. Provincial health officials logged 554 new COVID-19 cases today, a notable drop from the 656 infections reported last Wednesday and the 660 cases confirmed two weeks ago. Today's case count is down from Tuesday's single-day tally of 564 and the 581 new infections reported on Monday Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott said of the cases reported today, 418, or 75 per cent, are in those who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status. Vaccinated individuals account for 136 of the new cases today. About 32 per cent of Ontarians are not yet fully vaccinated. The rolling seven-day average of new cases has also started to decline.
  8. After nearly three weeks of positive momentum for the Conservatives at the expense of the Liberals, the margin between the two parties is narrowing again as the Conservatives slip. The Liberals remain narrowly favoured to win the most seats. https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/ People are beginning to see with their eyes how some of anti-Trudeau crowd look like. I myself made up my mind just yesterday to vote for him after witnessing angry hateful protesters shouting at Trudeau yesterday. Before I was zigzagging as I was temporarily attracted to the hint of a possible private health care by O'Toole.
  9. WHAT do you mean so what if they are shouting racist or sexist slurs. It is disgusting to witness scenes like this in Canada and shows the nature of anti-Trudeau mob or so called protesters, This is not the Canada I wish to see. Trudeau is not a person of color but the police officer was, This is an assault on democracy to harass party leader when they are campaigning or intimidate volunteers or reporters or endanger their safety.
  10. Allegations are made about extreme right groups organizing and financing these attacks and disruptions but extreme left and it makes sense because if it was extreme left then they would have thrown rocks at Conservative leader not a left center Liberal leader. But in my view extreme left and right are the same point on a circle some 360 degrees apart. Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were the same in my view.
  11. Unfortunately cameras don't catch racist insults but the police must arrest those throwing rocks and assaulting health care workers.
  12. The kind of scenes we witnessed over the past few days is very alarming as it is a danger to our democracy. There are widespread reports of groups of apparently anti-vaxer mob harassing health care workers, at least one health care worker being assaulted, surrounding hospitals and blocking access to sick people to get medical care. At other protest gatherings some wearing PPC (People's Party of Canada) T shirts disrupting election rallies by Liberal leader, Justin Trudeau, our elected Prime Minister and at least one protester throwing gravel at him and endangering the volunteers and news media reporters who are trying to do their very important job in a democracy. Harassing and Intimidating a party leader and his team during election rallies and preventing him to speak and convey his platform is an assault on democracy. There are reports of racist slurs by likely small number of angry protesters. There are unconfirmed reports or allegations that these may have been organized and finance by certain extreme right groups or elements who wish to disturb or destroy democracy in Canada, Reader beware and stand on guard on this. Is this the Canada you wish to live in? It is not about any political party or who is blue or orange or red but it is about Canada. We may have our differences on how Canada should be run or who should run it but we are united that our democratic system is very dear to us and we must not allow it to be disturbed.
  13. Some hollered profanities, racist slurs and many shouted anti-vaccination sentiments https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-met-by-angry-protesters-in-newmarket-ont-1.6165866 Trudeau says he won't back down after protesters hurl death threats, racist and sexist slurs Protesters heard shouting racist insults at police officer of colour https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-protest-racist-death-threat-sexist-1.6157617 Singh's campaign stops have not seen the same kind of crowds but the NDP leader is often subjected to racist insults, including from people driving by his events who hurl hateful slurs out their windows as they pass. Both Trudeau and Singh say the anti-mask, and anti-vaccine elements stirring up trouble on the campaign trail are a loud but very small minority of Canadians. https://www.cp24.com/news/up-to-police-to-investigate-trudeau-says-of-being-pelted-with-gravel-on-campaign-1.5575854
  14. So you were there but you were not among the rock throwers? And you claim you could hear every single individual. I only reflect on what I read as I wasn't there. there is a small fringe element in this country that is angry, that doesn't believe in science, that is lashing out with racist, misogynistic attacks," https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/federal-election-2021/protesters-throw-gravel-at-trudeau-liberal-leader-won-t-bow-to-anti-vaxxer-mobs-1.5574910 I guess we have to take your word versus the news media?
  15. Protest is a citizen's right in a democracy but throwing rocks at elected Prime Minister and disrupting speakers or election rallies by violence and racial slurs is what is expected of Nazis.
  16. A mob of protesters protesting outside hospitals where sick people are resting and recovering, blocking access of sick people to care, attacking and insulting health care workers who are saving lives and taking care of sick people, throwing rocks at the elected Prime Minister of Canada in a legal election rally, violence, anger and hate by a tiny minority trying to impose their will on the elected government. Is this the Canada you wish to live in?.
  17. You are completely insane. If people like you are in majority or even a sizable minority we in Canada will have a state similar to Nazi Germany in the 30's
  18. The real idiots are those who take part, support or are encouraged or happy by these kind of idiotic, violent, undemocratic Nazi tactics to impose a will of small minority on the overwhelming majority. Typical Cons behaviour.
  19. Margin narrows as anti-vaxer mob throwing gravel at an elected Prime Minister of a democratic country (Canada), may yet to backfire. https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/ Trudeau said Monday that he "can't back down" when faced with the aggressive group as he campaigns for a shot to keep leading the country through the worsening fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Yes, there is a small fringe element in this country that is angry, that doesn't believe in science, that is lashing out with racist, misogynistic attacks," Trudeau said. "But Canadians, the vast majority of Canadians, are not represented by them, and I know will not allow those voices, those special interest groups, those protesters -- I don't even want to call them protesters, those anti-vaxxer mobs -- to dictate how this country gets through this pandemic." He said the country needs leadership to recover from the pandemic, and painted his main rival in the election as ill-suited to do so because of his less stringent stance on mandatory vaccination for workers. He linked Tory Leader Erin O'Toole's positions to the "fringe" anti-vaccine crowd. "They don't get to dictate policy of this government, so it is puzzling to people to see that on vaccines and on so many other things, Erin O'Toole is at least taking some of his cues from them," Trudeau said. For this alone I will be voting for the Liberal Party of Canada to show my disapproval of violent undemocratic behavior of a small minority who wish to forcefully impose their will by violence. I have a message for them. This is a democratic country. You don't get to impose what you want by surrounding hospitals, attacking life saver health care workers, disrupting legal election rallies and violence in Canada.
  20. It is very irresponsible to speak of cancer without any evidence or proof when 80% of eligible population has vaccines in their bodies. Funny i read somewhere that people would wake up as monkeys as vaccines change DNA. There is no limit to how far they go, Leave health care workers and hospitals alone. If you have a beef take it up with those who made the decisions like legislators but it takes just a little bit of intelligence to realize that decisions on vaccine passports are not being made at the hospitals or by health care workers.
  21. Why do you mean propaganda? You mean the protests never happened at hospitals and people were not spat upon or access yo hospitals never blocked or no health worker assaulted. It is all part of a big conspiracy by governments, field experts, hospital workers and news media? To my knowledge vaccination is not required to use public buses or parks or service Canada or Provincial services Businesses have the right to decide who they will hire or retain. If their business is threatened in any way they have the right to fire. No government has instructed to fire anyone who refuses vaccination.
  22. Yes like insulting or assaulting health care workers and blocking the sick and pregnant from reaching hospitals by blocking their access. If they don't agree with decisions made then protest where decisions are made which is not hospitals. Hospitals do not make or enforce these decisions so why the hell you protest there where patients are recovering or resting or trying to reach and attack or insult people who take care of them. Protest at the legislator or Parliament where these decisions are made not hospitals, THIS IS WHAT IS INSANE.
  23. January to August (period of study) is 8 months. In my mathematics 8 is 6 months more than 2!!.
  24. We were in lockdown last September but now we are in stage 3 reopening which means a lot more contact than last year,
  25. I don't see any issue with that. Vaccinations in Ontario started in December and by August 7 about likely 70% of eligible population was vaccinated so lets say on average about 30 to 40% were vaccinated in that period on average and they calculated infections in that period among the 60 to 70% unvaccinated. What is the problem?
