  1. There is just something about him that I do not like.
  2. All the candidates are promising this, that and the other thing, and Canadians believe every one of these lies. Why is the electorate so gullible? Why do they like being lied to? ALL the parties are full of crap, and have NO intention of honouring their promises.
  3. I've been a Conservative for years. Party member, once a delegate. Quit the party when Mulroney took the reins. I returned after he left. I cannot abide Harper.
  4. Kulisek is a man. He is accused of drug related crimes.
  5. I am surprised Dix won, but since I never vote NDP, it means nothing to me. Too many of his left wing policies scare people, so his chance of becoming premier are slim.
  6. I'm with you. Then the signs are around for weeks after the election.
  7. Iggy told them that if he is made PM, he will immediately phone Pres. Calderon of Mexico to get this straightened out. Empty promise. As to Harper, all he has to do is meet the family and tell them that he sympathizes, but, as you said, we have Foreign Affairs to deal with it. It would be that easy.
  8. give Layton a few days, and he will jump on this as well.
  9. It has been news for a few weeks now. it is Harper's business as he is the leader of the present government.
  10. I don't disagree that Harper (or Layton, for that matter) would bring the media, but it is the fact that Iggy approached them in order to use a meeting as a photo-op. The family did NOT contact him as they have Harper.
  11. Ignorance knows no party boundaries.
  12. Pavel Kulisek is a Canadian jailed in Mexico. His family wants the Canadian government to get him out. They have been trying to get a meeting with Harper, but so far haven't been able to do so. Today, Iggy used their tragedy as a photo-op when he contacted them for a meeting, bringing the media with him. Whilst I condemn Harper for not seeing the family, I doubly condemn Iggy for using their problem as a cheap publicity stunt.
  13. Fine. They made a mistake, so now they pay for it.
  14. Nobody claims they are all in the same category as those three, but I, for one, still believe that ìf you do the crime, you do the time`, and you DON`T get treated like the prison is a holiday resort.
  15. The Nations Lakes circuit northwest of Prince George is terrific as well.
  16. All the bleeding hearts here should take all those poor criminals into their own homes if they feel so sorry for them.
  17. No traffic, no crowds, less pollution, outdoor activities galore, magnificent scenery. Yup, like I would trade that for the noise, traffic and crowds of Vancouver. That is why I moved away from Vancouver.
  18. the area. She lives in Vancouver (800 km away). This riding is Prince George-Cariboo. She has admitted not knowing much about the area. The Greens did this last election, and got few votes. Do the Grits honestly think it will be different for them? (At least this time the Green candidate DOES live here.) Very few people will vote for somebody who doesn't (and never has) lived in this riding. Talk about stupidity.
  19. Canada has a left wing government? Wow. when did Layton take over?
  20. The NDP would not use those taxes to improve the standard of living for most Canadians. They would use them to give more to the lazy bastards who feel the government should support them.
  21. So, a guy breaks into your home, rapes your wife and daughter, kills your son, and you would stand and say, "Well, I'm going to do nothing about it!"? Me? I'd hunt the SOB down, and do him in!
  22. Vote NDP, and watch the gas prices soar. "Tax, tax, tax!" is the NDP cry, and you can be certain they will tax the oil industry more and more if they took power.
  23. Make that the Trudeau Era. He hated the military with a passion, and it was under him that it degraded so much.
  24. An federal NDP government would ruin this nation financially. They would tax corporations so much that the corporations would close down and leave (example: BC NDP in the 1970's taxing mining companies so highly that they left). The average working person would fair no better. The NDP is NO LONGER the "working man's party". They now view the working man as a cash cow to be taxed and taxed and taxed some more. Mind you, once all the corporations have left, the NDP will have nobody to tax since everybody would be unemployed.
