  1. Zeus? Stop saying that. You will get Odin pissed off!
  2. Wow, I thought it was up to ICE to decide who enters the US, not Canadian Customs. Don't blame Canada if US border guards aren't doing their jobs. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/canadian-border-bigger-threat-u-official-172605563.html
  3. Does that make the North Pole a benevolent dictatorship?
  4. I have wondered for a long time why it was that if God is so omnipotent, why did He reveal His existance to only a small group of people in a backwater desert country, and not ALL the world? If He wants (needs?) to be worshipped, one would think He would let EVERYBODY know He exists.
  5. They claim "religious freedom" to spread their hate speech, thus it is protected. Oddly, that is a freedom they wish to destroy.
  6. The von Battenbergs changed their name to "Mountbatten" the same time the "House of Hanover-Saxe-Coburg-Gotha" changed theirs to "Windsor".
  7. Okay, let's put it this way, they have always had the support of Catholics.
  8. True enough, but he has his counterparts here in Canada, and they are a threat to me and my way of life.
  9. Idiot hockey fans will willingly pay more taxes for a hockey arena whilst squawking about paying taxes for children's lunch programs.
  10. Ever hear of 1753? That was the year of the Acadian expulsion. Your pal Pat wants it done TODAY. He doesn't believe in freedom of religion, separation of church and state or freedom of speech (although he certainly uses it freely). His way of thinking is as much a threat to freedom in the US as the way the al Qaida thinks. A theocratic dictatorship, no matter what faith runs it, is just that: a dictatorship!
  11. True. Idiocy all around.
  12. Mountbatten? Another German family that changed its name in WW I. They were von Battenberg until 1917.
  13. They have always claimed to be Catholics. That is why they attacked innocent Protestants.
  14. But those schools are NOT advocating putting a theocratic dictatorship in power. I have yet to hear about ANY religious school in Canada advocating forced conversions, forcible expulsions, and jail time for not attending church. However, your pal Pat DOES.
  15. They claim to be "good Catholics".
  16. No, they are not, but since they ARE Christians, I suppose they cannot be terrorists (according to some here).
  17. Denmark is a signatory of the Arctic Treaty, which says that "No state bordering the arctic shall place a claim upon the North Pole area". That treaty was also signed by Canada, the US, Russia, Iceland, and Norway. Mind you, Canada and Russia have already claimed the North Pole, so why not Denmark?
  18. Given there are Sikh, Muslim, and Jewish only schools in Canada, that clause is meaningless. There are numerous "traditional Christian schools" as well.
  19. Well, it seems that some IRA members are up to their old tricks again. They planted a bomb on a bus. However, since we keep reading here that "There are no Christian terrorists", they must just be some pranksters. BTW, I am no fan of the monarchy, but planting bombs to protest a royal visit IS a terrorist act!!! http://ca.news.yahoo.com/hours-queen-elizabeth-ii-starts-visit-ireland-police-094906484.html
  20. I can point out many silly stories in the Bible. Creation in 7 days is one. Adam and Eve is another. Cain going out and finding a wife when there was only supposedly him, his parents and the brother he killed. Where did she come from?
  21. A great many superstitions and silly beliefs are still around today, so that proves nothing.
  22. I'm a "real Canadian". I was born here, as was my father. My vote is "get rid of the monarchy!!"
  23. That isn't a "fact". That is an idea a bronze age person created and handed down.
  24. But Kimmy, you fail to realize that Ontario is God's gift to Canada, and Toronto is the centre of the universe. I was always a strong supporter of that old statement "Let those eastern bastards freeze in the dark!"
  25. Noah's Ark is also based on the ancient Assyrian story about Gilgamesh and a flood. His farm was being flooded, so he built a boat to save himself, his family and his farm animals. Over time, this story grew into the one about Noah.
