I find it ironic that Adolf Hitler made no secret of his intentions and actually built his political platform on the basis of ridding the world (or at least Europe) of Jews, and was put into power. And, the whole western world didn't really believe him. Imagine if we had believed him!

Maybe we should implement laws that value woman as half a man, maybe we should imprison a homosexual for 3 years and give him 400 or so lashings, stone young girls for premarital sex, cut off our wives clitoris, sentence 10yo's to death when a dirty old man gets turned on by her, honour kill our family, deny our girls education among other things. Brooks, they do. Dr. Brooks, a professor of public administration at Syracuse’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, was quite astounded with the results of his own research, which was so at variance with the common perception of the generous “liberal” and the Scrooge-like “conservative.” In his book, Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservativism (Basic Books, 2006), Brooks discovered that approximately equal percentages of liberals and conservatives give to private charitable causes. Brooks found “if liberals and moderates gave blood at the same rate as conservatives, the blood supply in the United States would jump by about 45 percent.” When Brooks compared his findings to IRS data on the percentage of household income given away, he found that “red” states in the 2004 election were more charitable than “blue” states. Brooks found that 24 of the 25 states that were above average in family charitable giving voted for Bush in 2004, and 17 of the 25 states below average in giving voted for Kerry. Brooks concluded, “The electoral map and the charity map are remarkably similar.” Why? A clue may be found in the 1996 General Social Survey, which asked Americans whether they agreed that “the government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality.” People who “disagreed strongly” with that statement gave 12 times more money to charity per year than those who “agreed strongly” with the statement. Look, I know that sometimes shit goes down and a police officer can find himself (or especially herself) overwhelmed, but this not New York city. This is a small community of some 5,000 First Nations. And, this is just some punk kid probably wanted for B&E or something stupid like that. The cops likely knew where he was, they approach, the kid sees them - tries running away and then obviously stopped - only to be shot. As I said before, if he runs away just go pick him up later, talk to the band, his parents....whatever, it's not like he was going anywhere? This was a total overreation as far as I'm concerned.

Bullcrap! Cops know they don't have to actually deal with anything anymore. We've made it Ok ...even easy for them to say they felt threatened and had to take drastic measures. If you don't comply, you get tazed, if you are too far away and some lazy, fat or weak cop can't keep up, then they bring out the gun. The incident (and consequent fall-out...or lack there of) at YVR should tell you all you need to know about the RCMP.

If an RCMP officer can't detain an unarmed kid, they shouldn't be a cop. At the very least, let the kid take off and pick him up later, it's not as if they couldn't find out who he was. This cop should be fired immediately.

Hamas (and nearly every other Arab/Muslim group) is anti-semetic, they hate jews. They make no apologies for their beliefs, they even put it in writing and shout it out at the UN. The fact that people here are supporting that racism is absolutely shocking. Suppose a group of KKK members started shooting guns and rockets into black neighbourhoods (because y'now, blacks take their jobs and destroy the social system) in LA, Philly, Chicago...whatever, would you support the racist KKK group or support the African Americans when they get fed up and start kicking ass on those racist clowns.

Every single month in the US, there are more traffic deaths (Approx 3,000) than the number of people killed in the 9/11 attacks. And, nearly a half million dead from traffic accidents in the US since 9/11. I must be missing your point!

Any invasion that Israel attempts will be successful, unfortunately for them they did the same thing as Bush#1 with Iraq and that is taking their foot of their necks only to see them rebuild and pull the same shit. Had Bush killed Hussein in 1991/2, there would've been no Iraq pt.2 - but I digress. Israel has been a target for nearly every hard line Arab country and despotic group in the mid east. Iran actually stood at the UN and threatened them. Israel has to fight back no matter what, it's all the Arab nations understand. Obama has allowed Iran to proceed with their nuclear bomb program, and Israel will no doubt face the threat from Iran in the future. I think the cyclists need to be more accountable for their own safety.

Now that hurts! lol! Actually, the pipes have saved me more than a few times. And, as far as drivers being more safety conscious, the majority of incidents that I've witnessed, have been the cyclist travelling faster than the auto. Usually a driver does their checks slows to make their turn and a cyclist travelling 20km faster gets hit at the turn - bike lane or not. Don't get me started on "doorings".

I don't wanna run over a cyclist. I don't wanna have that on my conscience, so it bothers me that they swerve in and out cut across traffic and do every inappropriate manoeuvre possible. It's mainly bike couriers I suppose, but all of them at some point have to interact with vehicle traffic and they seem to put all the safety concerns on us. 2 cars having a fender bender or side swipe in downtown Vancouver, TO or wherever is usually not too serious, but make it a cyclist and it can become life threatening. I ride a motorbike and it's amazing just how many vehicles don't see me (loud pipes and all). Cycles are smaller and have no sound, not to mention "doorings"....hey, I worry.

Cyclists are the most inconsiderate people on the road. I think that's why most people hate them. If I had a dollar for every time I saw one do something dangerous only to turn around and finger the driver (or pedestrian)...well, I'd be a lot richer.

I'm not saying she (or anybody here) is anti-Semitic, simply that she (and most people here) looks to be trying to avoid the idea that this situation is about Hamas (radical Islam) hating the jews - which they do. Hamas don't hide that idea that their goal is to exterminate all the jews, so why pretend it's not there?

Israel has control of most of the power and water because the infrastructure just isn't there for anything else. And, Israel hasn't even cut them off yet...AFAIK. You still want to pretend that it's Israeli's oppressing Palastinians, when it's really about Hamas killing Jews. Until you realize this, you're wrong in everything you say.
