What point are you seeing? That Israel may have wasted their own solider to ensure he didn't get captured?

The clearing of tunnels was not a part of the cease-fire, everybody agreed to it. Hamas knew the Israelis would be there and ambushed them - plain and simple.

I have...and you've seen me break down every last point of their proposal. It's still the goal and not the plan though. Geez, I was only joking that you really don't understand the difference. Oh well.

Look, if you don't know the difference between a goal and a plan...I don't know what else to say to you. Ok - Here's an example Hal's goal: To make a million dollars Hal's plan: I'll bilk old folks out of their savings You see, a plan is a ways to achieving a goal. Hamas has plans - we all know that, however differing they may be, but what is the plan? They know that they can't win the military war, they know Israel won't willing cave in to their demands, so...?

That's their goal, now what's their plan?

Well, we were discussing a couple nights ago wether women in general wanted to make the required sacrifices in order to move up the ladder in whatever business. It is still my contention that many women are satisfied with the balance between their job situation and their personal situation. The pay discrepancy (if there really is one) generally comes down to trade-off - nothing more. A nurse still makes $40+ per hour, the teaching profession has all but done away with men - as has banking and pretty much any social service career. Women are the professionals now and men are the labourers/tradesmen (plumbers, electricians etc). I'd say women are doing just fine.

Everything a person says or does comes with a price - everything... and people have to weigh out wether that price is something they will pay. Unfortunately, society is raising a generation of people who have decided that they don't want to pay that price, and figures society and the government should pay that price for them instead. If I want to make big money, I have to leave my family and go to Alberta or up north somewhere - that's a price I pay. If I want to spend more time at home with my family, I make less money and don't have as nice of things - That's also a price I pay If you want to live on welfare, it'll cost you some dignity As a woman - if you work 60 hours a week, many women will call you a bad mother, if you stay at home, the rest will look down on you for "just" being a mom - those are prices If a man works hard, he's neglectful, if he doesn't work - society calls him a neglectful bum - those are prices If I want to eat at McDonalds every day, I'll pay a price for that If I buy a new car, the price is financial If I holiday a lot, I won't be able to buy a new car If a woman whores herself out, she'll pay with her conscience If I stay single, i can have my Harley, but the price will be having no love of a wife and kids If I marry, I'll have the love of a family (hopefully), but sorry, have to sell the bike If I'm an alcoholic or junkie - it'll cost me my family If you rob or kill someone, you'll pay with your time If I second guess my boss, I'll pay by missing out on raises and promotions If I cheat on my wife, It'll cost me my marriage If I have kids, it'll cost me freedom and potential earnings at work...If it does't, It'll cost me the love of my kids You want freedom, you give up safety. You want safety, you give up privacy Every decision you make comes with a price tag - every single one. There is no "consequence free" life. Those people who fight consequences are simply putting those prices on the rest of society - because they do have to be paid.

If a guy is off work for a year on a WCB claim, I can guarantee that he will not be the one promoted over the employee who was working for that same period of time - regardless of wether it's a man or woman that he's competing with. If he did get promoted over a woman who had been working that full year, you can expect cries of sexism though.

What, are gonna play the rubber and glue game next? The proposal did nothing but leave Israel vulnerable to more attacks. At this point, there will be no peace while Hamas is in charge - Israel will make sure of that. All of Israel is behind Netanyahu in this. It's too bad that the palestinians seem to think Hamas is there for them. Again I ask, what is Hamas' plan?

Actually, i think baiting is OK.

No one is punishing anybody, but promotions (in private/non-union/non governmental jobs) are given based on work and experience. Can you justify giving a promotion to someone who was just off for a year over someone who has worked that entire year - Yes or No?

That's the thing, Hamas (if fact Muslims in general) don't care about timelines the way we do. If it takes them 10 years to achieve their goal - so be it. If it takes 25 or 50 years of fighting - so be it. They don't care how many "martyrs" it takes to achieve their goals either. I would wager that if Hamas killed every jew in Israel and there was just 2 Palestinians alive and standing in Jerusalem, it would be a glorious victory for Palestine.

As I said, it's just a wild theory, however, one can assume that its easier to lose one solider than be put in the position to have to barter for his return. Please give up the "10 yr cease-fire" argument. Its never going to happen. You're simply embarrassing yourself.

Hamas did, very one agrees on what happened, why do you people keep giving them excuses that they don't even want? As far as the "capturing" goes, it wouldn't surprise me if Israel knew he was captured and knew where he was and decided rather than have him be used as bait or hostage, they'd decimate everything including their own guy. That's just my wild theory though.

Were not talking "ifs" - were talking "facts", and the fact is; Hamas knew Israel were working on those tunnels and went in and ambushed them breaking a cease-fire...again.

You have to admit that if 2 people (a man and woman) of equal experience and education are hired at the same time, it would be unfair to promote the person who was off for a year over the one who has worked 5-6 days a week during that same year.

You inferred it by suggesting that if woman ran the world - or whatever the quote was. Anyway, England has a long history of queens waging war, and I'd suspect Hillary has more of a trigger finger than Obama.
