  1. In what way exactly is it a mans world? This isn't the 50's anymore.
  2. If women live 25% longer than a man after the age of 65, then maybe there is something to the idea that women collect more (take more) from the system then men. I wouldn't suggest that women pay more, and it would surely be political suicide for any politician to do so. It's just another perk of being a woman that has to be accepted.
  3. Fair enough! I misread that. It shows percentage of women and men. Assuming they are alive, what is the actual number of men and actual number of women? That might get to the original point the the OP.
  4. It's all on Youtube via C-Span if you cared to open you mind. Every republican begged congress to stop the madness...to no avail. It's all part of affirmative action and "everybody deserves a house" bullshit that Clinton spewed in the 90's.
  5. Surely you know that the finical collapse was all on the democrats in congress and to a lesser part Bill Clinton. As far as Bush goes, yes people hated the Iraq war - and subsequently him, however, I've never seen thing go so bad for one person as they have for Obama. His inability to make hard decisions is down right embarrassing. I actually wonder if Obama didn't look at Bush and decide that everything Bush would do, he'd do different...with dismal results. A man who makes tough decisions will sometimes be wrong, a man who never makes decisions will always be wrong.
  6. This chart shows people at age 65, is there something for age groups higher than that? I wonder what the numbers look like for 80+people
  7. Last time I fished I was getting 40% of my catch minus fuel and validation. I find it really hard to believe anyone would fish anything for 15 cents per pound. Anyway, you can thank the provincial govt and the fishermen themselves for letting foreign fish buyers buy all the licences and manipulate the prices.
  8. I don't think that, I'm not even sure how you get that from my post. Im quite disappointed in what we're doing with our resources, of course, I know first hand why it's happening so...
  9. I'm not making the rules, just telling you how it is. There is a price point in which a company just throws up it's arms and says they can't pay what the unions are demanding - If you don't believe it, fair enough, but that's the reality of the situation.
  10. You have to understand that a company will pay people to engineer an area and logging road, they pay a crew to build those roads, another crew to fall the trees, truck the trees, scalers, dry land sort, barges plus all the business fees, taxes and equipment etc etc. Then they have to pay a bunch of millworkers to mill the timber. Now, if a union insists on even 5$ per hour more - it doesn't seem like a lot, but it's actually very substantial to any company (tens-hundreds of thousands dollars per day depending on the size of the company). I know for a fact that these companies did everything possible to convince the unions that they couldn't afford what was being demanded. The trees had to come out of the bush so the cuts had to be made to the millworkers. It's actually cheaper for the companies to sell the raw timber and then buy it back as finished lumber. That's what unions have done.
  11. Every time I see a barge with millions of dollars worth of unmilled raw timber heading to Japan, I think of the influence of unions.
  12. I always appreciate when they stick with Canadian content - Big Sugar, Trews, or Sheepdogs type of bands
  13. I don't know, Cuba seems to be maintaining it well. A few issues in Venezuela , but they'll take care of that...one way or another.
  14. In high school I learned about Capitalism, socialism, communism...and most of the other ...ism's. Social Justice is so far away from capitalism, kids will hear nothing good about it...nothing! Capitalism is their target! A curriculum based on social justice, will not be about "what it is", it's about "what you should do to become a good social justice warrior". P.S - Adolf Hitler was a social justice warrior too and implemented the ideology into 1930's and 40's Germany.
  15. You can't be serious! Everything from political correctness to social justice has been planned and predicted. You'll go along with it as long as you can deny that your being taken it. The next step for you is to call me intolerant and hateful - so, go on, let me have it.
  16. Of course you don't believe it! Just have a look at history, it's all there!
  17. One thing I'll give Socialist is that he knows his Marxism. Unlike you and some other people here, he at least knows that social justice and political correctness are the hooks that drag you into Marxism.
  18. The fact that so many people are in favour of this is scary. Do people even understand at all how Stalin, Hitler, Chairman Mao convinced the people to give up all power? Social Justice is at the heart of it all. Have you read anything from Marx, How about Orwell or Bradbury. This has all happened before and it never ends well.
  19. Yes, but Marxism is not one of those things.
  20. I'm pretty confident that myself, my wife, grandparents, and siblings can install the values in my child that makes them a complete person. I really don't need or want some teacher trying to interpret some social justice agenda.
  21. So, you believe that the school system and some 25YO teacher (who you probably don't know) is so much more morally and intellectually superior to yourself, that you'll simply give them carte blanche to shovel whatever philosophy they choose into your child? WoW!
  22. Not to mention, hockey season is here woohoo! Go nuck's go!
  23. So, were back to feminism? Again, you'll have to enlighten me on what and how it's being taught. Please help me change my mind.
  24. Yes, I asked them why, but you kinda answered your own question. I thought the answer was obvious, they felt they would be too dependant on each other. I was also told that it was standard practice.
