More regulations are usually a good thing. In many cases higher taxes are a good thing too. Parroting the US line of bs on taxes is a communicable disease. Understanding why Canada doesn't get into that is the key. And anyway, on the average we pay less taxes than they do by at least half of sources commenting on the topic. harper is going to fix that by raising taxes on the lower 4 quintiles.

I think it's none of the US's business and furthermore, if you fear a Taliban or Iranian government then it's likely got a lot to do with the US meddling in the ME for oil. They don't just hate the US for no reason you know. Be aware that in my opinion the best thing Iran can do is get their nuclear weapon as a deterrent to US aggression. Fwiw, I think Canada is placed rather admirably on the OECD and the WHO charts you produced. Good health care costs money and if it's not being funded then that most likely shows up in WHO ratings for quality. Except in the case of the US of course where they pay much more than other countries per capita and get themselves rated in 37th. or 42nd., depending on the year they were rated. If some of the better universal health care systems in the world out perform ours on cost then that's saying something for universal health care.
