  1. No, it's not a personal attack. It's just that you don't say much and are not so outspoken as most Americans I've had words with on some other forums. In fact that whole post was quite unremarkable in it's content. Rick Mercer? Yes, a comedian but not one who actually proposes that he be taken seriously in the way Becke and Limbaugh do. It takes a bit of intelligence to understand that those two are just entertainers. The trouble is, a lot of Americans don't understand. I'm waiting for Americans who are willing to express their teabagger hate and loathing for the normal. bush/cheney, I don't consider as having much credibility and is not to be taken seriously. After their track record, who could take either Bush or Cheney seriously? His name challenges moderation and common sense and he's hoping to be recognized for it.
  2. I can also agree with you that Americans are less into government than Canadians on the average even though I wouldn't say that either all the American left or right is opposed to government. I would say 'big government' but I think that's mostly an illusion of the libertarians. I know that the 'don't tread on me' flag is a libertarian trade mark, or at least has been adopted by them as such. However, I would suggest that it's more teabagger than it is libertarian. I think that there are few real libertarians and are only hiding behind the ideological meaning. There's no more reason now for a surge in libertarianism than there was before Obama because in fact Obama hasn't become a representative of big government. My explanation for it is that teabaggers are real standing behind an agenda of racist hate. Leaders such as Cruz and Rand Paul accept them as followers because it's the highest quality of people they can attract. And finally, it's no coincidence that those proposing violence and murder at Cliven Bundy's ranch were teabaggers. The libertarian agenda is not synonymous with murder and violence, it is a futile effort at 'pie in the sky' government that can never be. I wouldn't accuse a libertarian of resorting to violence in order to bring his agenda into being recognized.
  3. Definitely wrong that the war is over. The US has renewed and increased it's efforts to arm Assad's opposition. This is US led revolution and the US doesn't give up in the ME. If it did then Russia will step in to take it's place. Count on it! Russia will just do it in a more subtle way and most likely with less bloodshed. Crimea?
  4. I say it will bring peace because it will be the nuclear deterrent to US aggression. No nation that is nuclear armed is going to become a victim of nuclear weapons. None ever has and that's for good reason. But think of it also in other terms. As nations gain the nuclear weapons they require as a deterrent, they also gain respect at the same time. The US (or the West for that matter) begins meaningful peaceful dialogue with those nations. It's beginning to happen with North Korea but in the interim, N. Korea is safe. It's beginning to happen with Iran even before the fact too. I would suggest that the increasingly obvious threat of Iran getting it's nuclear deterrent has kept that country safe for at least the last few years since Iraq fell victim. And of course, overall since the end of WW2, the nuclear threat has saved the world from another world war. We could argue that it has either saved the US from annihilation or it has saved the Soviet Union from annihilation. By annihilation I mean, one large nuclear weapon being dropped on either that would have led to immediate capitulation. Think about it next time before you throw up in your mouth again. And I might add, what makes me throw up in my mouth is US aggression such as has been visited on over 30 countries since around 1930 or so. I throw up in my mouth when people try to tell us the US was trying to save the people!
  5. JBG is probably right in saying these two were fruitcakes who should have been ignored. But my reason is suggesting the revolution starting is because it gains sympathy with a large number of Americans. Any other forum where there are a large number of Americans will have some displaying the yellow flag of the teabagger movement. And even though people on this forum are going to be cautious of aligning themselves with that 'Don't tread on me' message, they actually do so. I think that bush/cheney's screen name is an example of his aligning himself with that movement but his denial of such would put my suspicions into question. Others likewise, based on what they say. It's not just a few kooks in the US, it's most likely millions who are expressing the same thoughts and they are the teabagger movement. Can I hear some denial of that from them now?
  6. Has your country managed to have more than one unelected or elected president? What's your point? Even if you had I don't think it would be a point worth arguing. Maybe wait until Hillary is elected president and then bring it up? And what do you mean about 'no' minority member P.M.'s I'm just going to say that of course we have until you explain what you mean. We've had many minority MP's go on to become our P.M. Can you explain any success you've had becoming an 'all for one, one for all' nation that Canada hasn't had equal or better success in achieving? I do grant you that you have a very active faction in your country that is striving for racial equality. It most likely eclipses that same faction in Canada but that appears to me to be out of necessity. We might be accused of not being proactive in that regard and so stand in danger of becoming more like the US and having equal or greater racial problems. Suffice to say that what I have suggested is not just my imagination. There is a definite siding with racism on the part of the conservative and the opposite with the liberals. It's part of your politics and especially with the teabagger movement which should be an embarrassment to America with some of it's antics. And fwiw, I can excuse people like Glenn Beck as being nothing more than an entertainer whose only ambition is to make money entertaining. Same as Limbaugh, they both appeal to a lower mentality of extremes. It's not a question of being perfect. In my opinion it's a matter of how much the US's efforts have led to success. And again in my opinion, any efforts you can suggest have been made have only led to failure. That is, as evidenced by the problems your country is immersed in now as we speak. Comparisons with other first world countries are in order! For one example, your country's infighting over health care is disgraceful! The political rhetoric in the US south is also disgraceful. Do you think that it escapes Canadian listeners? Do you think the world can't see it? We need to encourage more Americans on this forum. The ones we have are not furnishing the credibility and the representative sentiments of what the US has become.
  7. Assad's negative image on the world scene has been created by the US propagandists. It never was proven that his side used bio/chem weapons and besides, it's quite unlikely he would have provided the provocation the US needed for very minimal gain. What could he possibly gain with a gas attack killing a couple of dozen civilians when he could use conventional WMD's of the sort the US is using every day on it's victims. Think it through folks. It's all US baloney! The US/Israel cause can be argued though. Should they be able to control the ME or should the Arab nations of the world be able to control their own destiny that comes with nuclear weapons? And then, regardless of what we think, the inevitable is coming for sure. It will bring peace!
  8. The Iraqi people aren't willing to live under US occupation. The US is finding that colonialism of the British style won't work in Iraq. It didn't work in Iran either so that was a reason to make Iran the evil enemy. Terrorism can always be traced back to a cause of revenge. For that reason we need to come to understand them as freedom fighters. Saddam maintained control over the differing factions within his country and made Iraq prosperous. The only thing missing was Western access to Iraq's oil which can keep the price per barrel down to affordable levels for have-not countries such as the US.
  9. You've got it! The only difference in the truth you tell and that I tell is we just approach the issues from a slightly different perspective. That's mainly because everything can't be addressed in one post. The common message is, we don't want to become like the US. And we must recognize that Harper is leading us in exactly that direction.
  10. Canadians don't pay higher taxes than Americans overall. Period! If goods are cheaper in the US then there's some obvious reasons why that is so. I would contend that chiefly it's because US companies keep their overhead down by paying workers less. That provides the social consequences in which Canada doesn't want to get involved. In fact, we don't want to start comparing ourselves with the US in any way because what they give up in social conditions, we aren't willing to give up for a little bit cheaper big screen t.v. or a hamburger at mc.d's. Our comparisons need to be made with European countries that are totally aware of the social responsibilities of government. All Canadians need to ask themselves, do we really want anything that the US now has? We can have that cheaper big screen t.v. if we want to accept the corruption that they have gladly accepted for short term and meaningless gain.
  11. Above all, and from a Canadian POV we should be able to see that this is a big aid in forming the division in the US between those who accept black people as citizens and those who are obsessed with their racist hating. It's political and neither side has a clear majority so there's a good chance that the Republican side will become an exclusively racist side while the Dem side will become the opposition. Or at least, that's the way the politicians will attempt to frame it. It won't be entirely successful but it will most likely make it difficult to oppose the Republican party if one is immersed in racist hate. It will become more in their interests to support Republicans. Unbelievably, politics in that country can degenerate much more than it already has in it's quest for the bottom. Corruption in their politics, corruption with their guns, corruption in their justice system, corruption in their health care system, corruption with their income inequality, and soon corruption throughout. All leading to their decline and to China rising up to take their place as world leader in all aspects. The denial of the racist charges have grown thin lately. Soon they won't even attempt to deny anymore.
  12. In a limited way but it benefits big oil companies and Alberta much more. If the question was analyzed thoroughly it may surprise a lot of people to learn that increasing tarsands output to increase profit isn't going to benefit Canadians all that much. Output has already increased tremendously since about 99 to supply the US demands of 20 million barrels a day. And then there is the downside of it and the obvious tradeoff we are making to ignoring environmental effects of both the tarsands methods of oil extraction that I would bet nobody on this forum understands, along with just ensuring that we aren't at least coerced into more green energy development.
  13. And muricans shooting themselves in the foot and shooting their children's foot are way up. Put a positive spin on this gungoon stuff, the more dead ones the less it costs to keep them in social aid to keep them alive!
  14. I don't know. It's not something we pay much attention to in B.C. They were cops that treaded on their guns or something like that?
  15. http://news.ca.msn.com/top-stories/las-vegas-cop-killers-hated-government-and-left-swastika-on-body According to these two teabagger kooks this is going to kick it off! The show with Cliven Bundy was just a warm up. Don't tread on them! So Americans, is this the long-awaited revolution to get even with Obama for being a uppity black man who is pretending to be the president? Or just two more teabagger kooks who will be low grade worm food? Disgusting!
  16. Americans hate their fellow Americans so let them pretend they have good affordable health care. They have to reach rock bottom before they will come to their senses and demand a piece of the great wealth that is in the hands of the very wealthy. They think it's the American way to get rich first before having a right to life. Phhhhhttttttt! Who cares?
  17. Yes, I know, the Russians are coming. Soon! you disingenuously and dishonestly try to say that I excuse one side and blame the other unfairly when in fact what I do is compare crimes against humanity that the US has committed with crimes of the other side. And you can't argue that so you think you need to ignore me because you are getting a headache. I think you should do just that and maybe your headache will go away. You sure have demonstrated that you aren't up to the task of doing anything else. (that's a personal attack against you) (I'm not going to roll with the punches forever so let's start to run it up the flagpole and see if Charles salutes it?
  18. Bergdahl was treated well in captivity. Yeah, we know that because the Taliban showed us a video of him in good shape. So for a good laugh watch and listen to this one! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/06/taliban-bowe-bergdahl-_n_5457717.html?utm_hp_ref=mostpopular Sadly, the level of intelligence these propagandized lemmings employ falls far short of convincing people of reasonable intelligence. Not a problem because most Americans believe this pap, hook, line, and sinker. Amusing isn't it when somebody who is brought on a show to help get the message across ends up destroying the whole sick charade! edit: The upside of this crap is that they get the true message out again about their songbird McCane and how he was treated so badly by the enemy that he wanted to stay and enjoy the hotel's services!
  19. And again you take it to the personal level by suggesting that I'm not capable! You really do need to stop that you know. Yes, the russians annexed the Crimea with no bloodshed and on behalf of the people who wished it so. Why in the world would anybody even try to criticize that when the US is guilty of numerous more egregious crimes? Do you people have some sort of selective thinking that lets you ignore US aggression? Geez, the best argument I ever hear from the US/Nato apologists is that what the US does is not the same? Somehow?
  20. Shady my man, I gave you two instances of how the US pays less than the minimum wage. If you can't deal with it then don't come whining to me about it. We all know what is officially supposed to happen and what really does happen. I'm sorry Shady but I don't think my time is well spent listening to your excuses and your innuendoes that you don't seem to have the ability to back up with facts. But do keep trying because I still think you're the best the right has. How much do you think that's saying Shady? Do you think any of the babbling brooks of the right can give you a run for your money?
  21. I'm going to compare the US to Nazi Germany. the Iraq phony war for phony reasons equalled Nazi Germany's crimes against humanity in the same period of time. I suspect that the US's crimes against humanity is close to equalling Nazi Germany's crimes over the same 6 year period. How about you provide a rebuttal to that assertion now before you start attacking me again for my opinion? Can you do that? Fwiw, I see little real distinction on how the Nazis killed people and the US killed people. They all ended up dead. edit: Oh, and btw, were you a part of it and now you have to try to justify your behaviour? Or are you just apologizing for the US?
  22. Both Saddam and Putin stand vindicated due to the simple facts of the US track record. Have you already forgotton that Saddam's Iraq was invaded on false pretences and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were murdered. Now don't run from the debate. Tell me what egregious crime Saddam could have commited that could ever equal those hundreds of thousands of victims under US bombs. And when you address that with some credibility then we'll go on to compare Russia's track record since the fall of the Soviet Union to the US's track record of so many wars of aggression that we have lost count.
  23. I think I might be hurting your sensibilities by reminding you of the truth. So why not stop whining about it and offer some substantial rebuttals of what I have to say. If you can't do that then follow along with your finger while others understand what it's all about. I know you don't like it and I know you don't like me but you're going to have to get used to it without attacking me for my views. That's allowed in Canada you know!
  24. how many US soldiers still occupy Iraq? http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2012-02-16/news/bs-ed-iraq-20120216_1_embassy-staff-iraqi-politicians-security-forces That was uncovering the lies from 2012 so how many are they still lying about Shady?
  25. In truth the US is in Iraq still and will stay there to occupy that country against the Iraqi people's wishes. Same in Afghanistan of course. I'm surprised that you would think otherwise and it leads me to believe that you aren't allowed to know the truth in your country. It wouldn't surprise me as you aren't allowe d to travel to certain countries either. Did you know that?
