  1. A military parade does not showcase one man's ego, but is a display of power to those enemies who only understand the most primitive form of communication, in order to act as a deterrent. Better a parade than a war.

Or maybe Kim sees Trump as a babbling fool who continues to create the fear of a strike/invasion of his country so he keeps on with building his nuclear arsenal.

Maybe you need to find out who O'Neill is.

    4. betsy

It's not about who he is.  It's about what he said.  It was an ignorant thing to say.

Kim has been doing that even before Trump became president!  Kim got used to past  Presidents treating him ever so gently.  Think poker.  Kim  - and others - can read the likes of Obama and Clinton like braile.  Liberals are easy to fool.    That's why the USA wasn't being taken seriously under these leaders.

Trump, on the the other hand,  is unpredictable.   That's part of his game.

  2. Trudeau confronts woman at Town Hall over her use of the word "Mankind"-

(Young woman)'We came here today to ask you to also look into the policies that religious charitable organizations have in our legislations so that it can also be changed because maternal love is the love that's going to change the future of mankind.' At this point, Trudeau interrupted her and said: 'We like to say peoplekind, not necessarily mankind because it's more inclusive.'

    Link

Mr.Trudeau. "peoplekind" is not a real word.

  4. "Severe over-representation" of indigenous children in Canada's child care services.

"Lets not use safety as an excuse to extract children from their culture.” - Carolyn Bennett, Canada's Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs.

Safety is an excuse? Lady, that sounds like you are living in a fantasy land..

Most of them are. There was another one in the paper the other day demanding prisons put an end to solitary confinement. Period. None. She said absolutely nothing about how violent men spending decades in prison with little or no hope of getting out were to be controlled, of course, let alone punished for misdeeds. Not her problem.

No surprise that the Minister responsible for this service is out of touch with reality. Easy for these people to pontificate, but they should leave the real work and hard decisions up to the people on the ground.

My inclination is, the kids need to be removed from the danger or neglect where parents are drug addicts who don't look after them. That needs to be done.

The real problem then is how these kids are cared for, within the system.

  5. Canadian media not invited to the meeting between Trudeau and Netanyahu. Why? Probably because he does not want Canadians to see and hear him making political concessions which expose his grandstanding as lies.

The Prime Minister's Office sent an email to the media to announce a last-minute meeting between the two men even though it had been mentioned several hours earlier in the Israeli media.

The PMO later apologized for the late notice and promised to provide a summary of what it called a "last-minute pull-aside."

  6. Representatives from Canada's automotive industry condemn Canada's decision to sign the TPP-

The TPP agreement will make it easier for TPP countries to import vehicles to Canada while hampering the Canadian auto industry’s ability to compete. At the same time, the U.S. has proposed increasing the North American content rule under NAFTA to 85 per cent, and introducing a U.S.-content rule of 50 per cent.

“That regional content means the majority of the parts and materials for vehicles can come from outside TPP countries — namely China — and you didn’t get anything in return,” Volpe said.

It appears that Trudeau and his financial geniuses have screwed the country. Smooth move, ex-lax.

TPP deal is harmful to the auto industry and undermines Canada's position in NAFTA negotiations

    2. OftenWrong

      OftenWrong

Don't know. Why does that matter? Deals such as this go through a number of revisions in the negotiating process, until all parties agree.

    3. AngusThermopyle

      AngusThermopyle

So there'll be revisions and after they're done we'll probably be in an even worse position. Personally I have absolutely no faith in the abilities of this Liberal government.

  7. Trudeau welcomes diversity as long as the diversity matches his personal beliefs-
Employers being forced to sign government attestation over sexual diversity if they want funding from summer jobs program

The attestation in full says: “Both the job and the organization’s core mandate respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as other rights. These include reproductive rights and the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, colour, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.”

The government says it will not even process an application that does not include the attestation. The online version of the application can’t be submitted unless the box on the attestation is checked off.

Whether you like it or not, whether it i relevant to your workplace or not, you MUST AGREE.

  8. More fallout from Hawaii incident. Hawaiian congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D) blames the situation on "decades of failed leadership in this country."

    1. OftenWrong

      OftenWrong

... and while the congresswoman's comments are what I would call a tiny bubble of non-partisan sanity in an otherwise insane world, the reaction from some on the left is becoming all too predictable. This is Trump's fault.

      Jamie Lee Curtis-
"This Hawaii missle scare is on YOU Mr. Trump. The real FEAR that mothers & fathers & children felt is on YOU. It is on YOUR ARROGANCE. HUBRIS. NARCISSISM. RAGE. EGO. IMMATURITY and your UNSTABLE IDIOCY. Shame on your hate filled self. YOU DID THIS!"

Had Trump only submitted to the nuclear blackmail of North Korea, none of this would have happened...seems to be the media's line.

  9. Trump seeks to place controls on DACA as well as eliminate the lottery system-

"DACA is going to be terrific. Any legislation on DACA must secure the border with a wall, it must give our immigration officers the resources they need to stop illegal immigration, and also to stop visa overstays, and crucially, the legislation must end chain migration. It must end the visa lottery."

I guess this makes him more progressive than Justin Trudeau-

  21. Trudeau returns from China empty-handed, not only failing to initiate a trade deal but also failing to free Canadians John Chang and Allison Lu. They have been detained for almost two years now on allegations that they "under-reported the value of wine they export to Asia". Hardly a crime worth detention, more of a trade violation.
