  1. The problem with your Utopian workplace environment is that when female employees are being sexually harassed by 'friends of managers' they do not typically want to rock the boat and voice their concerns for fear of reprisals as I have mentioned in other threads. Managers need to maintain a firm line between themselves and the empoyees they supervise for many reasons including the one I mention above.
  2. Really! What does this thread have to do with France.
  3. A while back in this thread, you did point out that these women were ok with restorative justice but now that they say they really weren't, you all of a sudden are attacking them for their reasons. hmmmmmmm Because of course their reasons go against your judgement of this whole issue. And of course I wrote the letter. You have me all figured me out! I am a man-hating radical feminist. Good for you.
  4. Why don't you google and do some of your own research on this issue.
  5. Honestly, you are comparing these FB posts to France..... Last I heard, Canada didn't have the death penalty and the real threat are these vicious and violent threads towards women (who by the way, live in a civil society). For the life of me, I can't figure out why you guys can't see this.
  6. The women who were directly affected by these posts have written an open letter to the President of Dalhousie: "They do not wish for the sexual harassment and discrimination perpetrated by members of our class to be dealt with through this restorative justice process." The university is pressuring us into this process, silencing our views, isolating us from our peers, and discouraging us from choosing to proceed formally," "Telling us that we can either participate in restorative justice or file a formal complaint is presenting us with a false choice. We have serious concerns about the impact of filing formal complaints on our chances of academic success at the faculty of dentistry, and believe that doing so would jeopardize our futures," they wrote. "The reason we have not filed formal complaints is also the reason we have not signed our names to this letter." And now, the Canadian Dental Society are stating that any students graduating from this program must disclose whether they were involved in these incidents since the University will not give up the names of the students involved.
  7. FB is not semi-private and if you believe that, you need to educate yourself on social media. They are violent threats towards women, not 'just' words. No one is claiming 'victimhood'. People are standing up to and asking for reprimand for these threats against women. It's pretty simple, once you can wrap your head around the concept that women and men are standing up to promote the safety of women.
  8. Not so sure about that anymore (especially if you are not white). The KKK in Arkansas have recruited 40 people just this month and are in the midst of a very active drive to recruit new members with billboards and pamphlets.
  9. How can you possibly take a stand on this issue when you don't even know what was posted? WTF!!
  10. Except he's anonymous, so is Argus. You are right, as usual.
  11. I certainly would not want nor would I want my daughters to have work done by dentists who post such vile rape jokes. See Jaycee's post above. Actually, they are not jokes. They are violent threats against women in general. It doesn't matter that many people other than the colleagues have expressed outrage over this incident. These kinds of statements do absolutely nothing to bring 'violence against women' out of the dark and into the light to be openly discussed when individuals defend these posts. On second thought, we are discussing them, so this is a good thing. I honestly haven't read of anyone who would go on record to support these posts. Does anyone know of any?
  12. Yes? I'm here, but I can't think of any better way to respond to Tim than how you already have.
  13. If we had one less George Zimmerman on this planet, I would be quite happy.
  14. Shady, can you provide direct cites of the Mayor stating the above comments. For example: He has made career anti-police agitator Al Sharpton practically deputy police commissioner. Do you understand what 'cites' mean?
  15. And just to add to your insightful comment: because a parent is a mayor, does not exclude them from protecting their children., Remember the remark Obama made about 'his son could have been Trayvon Martin'. He is also a parent of 2 black daughters. He understands the racial profiling of cops in the U.S.
  16. Not sure he used the word 'scared'. And of course, I bet you are not a father of bi-racial children.
  17. You are working in overdrive to convince yourself of your defective thinking. Suit yourself.
  18. Yes, I guess it is. sigh.....
  19. You of course know nothing of this families experiences living in NYC. So how on earth would you know about his biases?
  20. If a Mayor of NY and a parent of a bi-racial child needs to warn his kids, why do you think you know more than him about how to raise his kids? It isn't my bias, it's the life experiences of this Mayor's family.
  21. Why should parents of colour train their kids? The fact that you even mention this, points to the difference in behaviour of cops towards black and white kidsl.
