  1. Your quality of posts have sure deteriorated since Capn Canada was banned. You seem to be on a tirade instead of the educator that you portray. Why would Capn Canada confess to impersonating you and Merlin? What would be in it for him/her?
  2. I see that Socialist is posting under the status updates. I do recall that capn canada said that he has posted under the persona of 'socialist'. WTF is going on. Where is the credibility of this forum? Not to mention that Capn Canada aka Socialist, directed comments to me 'west coast c...t'. under the status updates. Why is socialist continuing to post here?
  3. The point I was trying to make was that you indicated that our posts were deleted because we chose to respond to a 'troll'. However you forget that I didn't know this person was a troll nor did OGFT probably know. All we knew was that this member was speaking out of his/her ass. So, I decided to try to determine if this person was in fact a troll. I truly had no idea. In the end, this troll came out and confessed to posing as 'socialist' and other members here. We actually did you a favour in 'outing' this member. And in the end, you banned this member. Did we not do your job for you?
  4. Addressing the same old issues to different audiences mean that we need more members (ie a wider audience). I have suggested ways to do this but it is simply being ignored.
  5. Well, thank you for your respectful response to a highly valued member (of course I am assuming that everyone here is a highly valued member).
  6. Not sure what you mean with your statement above? I have worked in the IT industry in Canada for well over 25 years and have also been involved in hiring and salary reviews. I too have been actively recruited to work in the U.S. and the wages being offered have nothing to do with what is offered in Silicon Valley. Here in Canada, we only care that we can offer wages that will entice an employee to work with us and offer enough to allow them to live in the area where they will be working. Vancouver and Toronto are very expensive to live in and companies will offer 'hard to find IT employees' whatever it takes. We don't care what Silicon Valley pays. As mentioned above, software engineers, programmers, business and systems analysts, quality assurance analysts and anything else to do with the software industry don't give two hoots on what Apple, Google, Microsoft and other companies in Silicon Valley are paying. This has more to do with 'demand' and 'scarcity' of workers.
  7. While it was comical to watch another poster unravel, confess to numerous personas on this forum and then go on to post degrading comments on the status updates, I find it confusing that Charles noted that 'our posts were deleted if we chose to respond to trolls'. Well, if everyone knew this person was a troll including the mods, why wasn't he/she banned. Instead they were left to post freely and it was up to members to determine if this was a troll or not.
  8. That may be true in Silicon Valley but in other parts of North America, not so much. IT salaries being paid in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary or Montreal or any other community that employs IT staff, does not care two hoots about what salaries are being paid at Google, Adobe or Intel or even Microsoft. Having said that, I can't believe that Apple is bad for business. That is giving them far too much credit.
  9. I'm not interested in your links about China. Again, I was referring to the video you posted. If you don't want comments about the video you posted, then you shouldn't have posted it.
  10. Did you see anywhere in my post where I was begging politicians to piss away money?
  11. I have no clue what you are going on about and I don't need to redeem myself to you or anyone else. But thank you for offering me a chance. I was speaking to the video you posted, nothing else.
  12. Do you get what the video is trying to convey?
  13. Why would you say that's my answer? I didn't imply that in the slightest.
  14. We have plenty more choices what with digital tv and at much less expense to consumers.
  15. I wonder how the economies of United States and Canada will address the "Worst-megadroughts-in-1-000-years" that threaten the western portion of the U.S. This paper, to be released soon, discusses the research that was done to draw these conclusions. Among them: Parts of the US will likely face "megadroughts" worse than anything experienced in the past 1,000 years as a result of climate change, researchers have warned. They used tree ring samples and soil moisture measurements to make the comparison with previous eras. The researchers applied 17 different climate models to analyse the future impact of rising average temperatures on the regions, as well as comparing two different global warming scenarios - one with "business as usual" projecting a continued rise in emissions of the greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming and a second scenario in which emissions are moderated. According to the researchers, the effects of CO2 on higher average temperature and the subsequent connection to drying in the Southwest and Great Plains emerge as a "strong signal" across the majority of the models. The latest study joins a raft of research warning that businesses and investors in the region face significant long-term risks as a result of climate impacts.
  16. While I don't agree with women wearing the Niqab, I do question Harper's govt of appealing this decision. I suppose he is trying to show that his govt is the only govt who can defend Canada against Jihadi terrorism.
  17. This is just not true. You really do believe the crap you spout off here. Read below: "The vast majority of terrorist attacks in E.U. countries have for years been perpetrated by separatist organizations. Of 152 terrorist attacks in 2013, 84 of were motivated by ethno-nationalist or separatist beliefs. That’s more than 55 percent. That’s down from 76 percent the year before. While the report notes this decline, it also states that a number of separatist groups are showing “greater sophistication, incremental learning and lethal intent.” Despite the low frequency of Islamist militant attacks, fears around them are continually stokes by politicians, law enforcement officials, and even the media which tends to highlight religiously-motivated attacks over political or environmental ones. In 2013, there were 152 terrorist attacks in the EU. Two of them were “religiously motivated.” In 2012, there were 219 terrorist attacks in EU countries, six of them were “religiously motivated.” In 2011, not one of the 174 terrorist attacks in EU countries in 2011 were “affiliated or inspired” by terrorist organizations. 2010, 249 terrorist attacks, three of them were considered by Europol to be “Islamist.” In 2009, of 294 terrorist attacks, only one was related to Islamist militancy "
  18. Um, I thought that this is what seeking justice is all about.
  19. Glad you recognized the word 'assault'!
