  1. Why not?
  2. Newbie quote from May 17,2005. He was elated back then when B.S. crossed the floor. Look who's not a happy-camper now. Wouldn't another defection tomorrow just turn you inside out eh, Newbie? Wooo-whooo!
  3. First point, We will have to hear about this floor crossing from the man who did it-David Emerson. I'm sure he will give his reasons and explain how he plans to work for his constituents who wanted a Liberal in the house. He's the one who did it the crossing,he's the one who must explain. Second point,I truly believe Emerson is only the first of a number of Liberals that will cross the floor in the coming months. Somehow, I believe the in-fighting in the Liberal party will still go on in opposition, and some of these MP's will have had enough to drive them to cross the floor, or to sit as independants.
  4. The people running CBC are really carefree with our money. If it's about informing the public(duplication of news that we can get from other sources) then they would not be getting involved in stuff like Sirius Canada. This of which costs its owners $40-million to get off the ground although CBC wouldn't disclose how much of that was paid by the CBC. The news is the news is the news. This isn't the 30's or 40's or 50's where there was limited media in Canada. Today we have a great variety of radio and TV to choice from,we don't need Mother Corp., giving us duplication from every city in Canada. What is it that CBC gives us that isn't offered by the everyone else? Hockey and non-commercial radio, that it. Hardly worth $800+ million a year and keeping 7000 people on the government payrolls. Like it was stated,if you want it so much and you feel others do too, then YOU support it. Time to pull the plug on this excess.
  5. As it Happens and the Current? Forget those redundant radio programs. CBC has gone big time with a 40-per-cent owner of the digital satellite-radio service Sirius Canada. CBC will now offer some real intelligent programming like Howard Stern for Canadians to listen to. Isn't it great,$800,000 of Canadian taxpayer money and be able to budget an investment into a digital satellite-radio service(costs money to subscribe) to further expand the voice of government subsidized media. Will the CBC and the shock jock get along? Of course it doesn't matter about profit making it's all about giving Canadians a voice, more money can be gotten from the Government.....or can it?
  6. Stephen Harper just can't quit his inner-Evangelical So the truth about scary Harper finally comes out: God Bless Canada.
  7. Dingwall gets $418,000 in settlement Forced Resignation? Resignation last fall was involuntary? The slimeball managed to convince the arbitrator he didn't resign, but was forced out.Lying Liberal government told us different. George Adams with other people's money, what a great arbitration, all completed three days before the election.
  8. In September of 2003, I had issues with "Nerve." I complained to the CBC because it was listed under the banner of "TEENS" on the CBC start-up page. At that time when you opened up the TEEN portion of the site and clicked on Nerve the first thing you saw was an advisory that this was for mature audiences (on a teen site?). So a teen(still aged 13 to 18 as far as I remember) could go on and see all of these clips of Ballwaxing,Gay Marriage,Running naked through a parking lot, etc. With a 13 year old girl in the house,I didn't believe this kind of material was appropriate for young teens. Mature advisory or not, won't stop any teen from looking, but putting it on a CBC teen site? Back then they listed all the people who were involved in the Nerve segments, not one was a teen. All were in their twenties and all thought their were just "cool teens." I think this whole site was developed around the "JackAss" stuff that was popular then. A year later I believe it was still on the "Teen" segment of CBC with the mature advisory. I gave up on trying to put some sense into CBC, and now I see it no longer is attached to the "Teen" segment.Where was their thinking? -CES
  9. Auscan, Don't know if this is the plege to the flag you are refering to but this is the "unofficial" pledge to the flag that's been around for years. PLEDGE TO THE CANADIAN FLAG To my Flag and to the country it represents, I pledge RESPECT and LOYALTY. Wave with PRIDE from sea to sea and within your folds, keep us ever UNITED. Be for all a symbol of LOVE, FREEDOM and JUSTICE. God keep our FLAG. God protect our CANADA. -CES
  10. Geez, Chretien was Prime Minister for how many years? He couldn't speak French or English. And that's the proof of the proof.
  11. Our new Liberal opposition leader, Bill Graham and his supposed involvement with 15 year old male prostitute Lawrence Metherel for years never really was made an issue by the media ........apparently Toronto didn't care either and re-elected him again. Fifteen year olds with old guys is acceptable in T.O.?
  12. Congratulations Greg. Ok everyone, Greg's gone! It's PARTY TIME!!!
  13. Joe Clark said he would govern like he had a majority......you remember Joe, the Prime Minister we had for 9 months. Maybe Craig said the same thing because he wants another election sooner than later.
  14. That's why I thought he would be perfect.
  15. Francois Perrault's book that will be released in Febuary was all done behind the scenes with Gomery, it hints of "inside trading." Is Chretien right about Gomery bias? The book seems to point that way. Kinsella La Press
  16. I don't think the Liberals want Brison or Belinda, now that McKenna and Tobin and Manley don't want to lead. Is it time for Justin Trudeau to come to the aid of his father's party and lead a new generation of Liberals?
  17. Ambassador to U.S.? ...............Preston Manning?
  18. Add in a former announcer from the Winnipeg airport, who I heard gets over $300,000 a year plus perks, all just to spit out the news on the national and you can see how the CBC thinks they're more important than the public thinks they are. Time to cut back, way back. Put the bucks where it would do more good, and I'm not talking about the gun registry.
  19. WWF is World Wildlife Federation, the Wraslers are the World Wrestling Entertainment. World Wildlife Federation sued them a few years back and the wraslers had to change to WWE. One has to stay on top of this stuff.
  20. Now you find fault with the World Wildlife Federation?
  21. All this for 5.8% Audience Share. We are being forced to pay for what we refuse to watch. Hardly good value for the buck.
  22. Twenty-Five percent of the press gallery is CBC, that would be the first change that should be made.
  23. I just have to wonder why these "journalists" didn't ask the question in the first place. They seem to ask a lot of other questions of less importance. They made a point of asking Martin the questions when the US made comments during the election campaign. From what is being written, the media is on to the next election before Harper is even sworn in yet.
  24. Funny, I think the same thing about people who live in the proximity of Ontario Hydro lines and nuclear plants. Something in the air or water is stunting their brain.
  25. Andrew Coyne's column in the Post today question's Shapiro's call on the Grewal case.Coyne feels that Dosanjh should have been slapped on the hand just as Shapiro did with Grewal. The article in the Post is locked, but you can read it in Coyne's blog. The Commissioner's selective ethics
