One of the biggest complaints of the former Liberal cabinet was that Paul Martin had to be everywhere accomplishing nothing. His cabinet have portfolios to handle matters, but ole Paul had to be there for the photo ops and the glory. Harper doesn't care for that crap.He has ministers to do the work. The Media wants another Martin, but they won't get one in Harper.

With all the heat in southern Canada this week, he went up north to cool off.
-
He's scheduled to appear. Well, thank God for that. The whole thing would be a waste of time without his input. With Paul being there, and maybe the 11 Liberal apostles running for his job, along with Jack Layton, the divine saviour of the down trodden, maybe this concerned bunch could solve the whole crisis as they have solved all Canada's and the world problems. "I promise you, cheque will be in the mail"

Did Paul Martin show up?

Israel ambassador denounces federal Liberals
Canuck E Stan replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How is this different from all the governments in the middle east controlled by religion? Admit it, you hate Jews. -
I don't think the black flies are that far west or south yet. Are they common around Kenora? I don't see them near Wpg. I've encountered some pretty nasty black flies in north central Manitoba, I have an uncle that lives out there in the middle of Godforsaken nowhere and the flies are nasty. They are worse as you move east up until about just east of Algonquin Park (mmm Canoeing, how I miss thee). If this all does comes about, maybe Canada could make this a "no fly zone"

letter from Jacqueline House- 6Nations
Canuck E Stan replied to Bluejay's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Bluejay, Taken from your post, you have stated a number of times that this land is in dispute. My understanding of the word "dispute" means-"To question the truth or validity of;" therefore the ownership of those lands are in question. Until that is resolved, one should not make an assumption that the ownership is a given, as you have done. That's why negotiations are taking place. Your post on the subject assumes that this land is Indian land, and it just might be,then again it may not. It is in dispute. When the negotiations are complete,we will have a resolution to the dispute. Even if the final resolution does not please all the parties involved it must be accepted by all parties because it is the only method of solving such problems. What good is negotiating if in the end one party refuses to accept the results? -
Why is Toronto such a mean city?
Canuck E Stan replied to mockingbirdreturns's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
You can tell by eating in a vietnamese restaurant that those there were underpaid, immigrants and living in in horrid conditions? How is that possible? Was it something in the food? You must tell us how you know all of this by eating food in a vietnamese reataurant. -
How does Ontario gain financially? Taxes generated from this area from businesses, mining, lumber, cottages, residences ect. are all used to feed southern Ontario. If anything, north ontario could do well to be it's own province and keep the cash at home and also apply for equalization as the Maritimes and do quite well for themselves. Manitoba has nothing to offer North Ontario that they need.
-
Firstly,I think this is a provincial topic, not a Federal one. This debate about Northern Ontario has been going on for as long as I can remember, much like the one about South-eastern BC joining Alberta. Ontario(south) would never give it up it's Northern portion.

Resign post or quit caucus, MPs tell Khan So here we have a Liberal(Khan) who wants to do something to help Canadians understand the Middle East problem. A non-partisan initiative,an initiative for his country, and the Liberals get all wonky about it. When will the Liberals start thinking beyond their party agendas and begin to think(as Khan did) of the bigger picture. Kudos to Khan and to Harper for thinking outside the political party box.

Six Nations Crisis- “Canada’s Pandora’s Box?”

Outside of cigarettes, what other products do you grow and sell to the British and Canadians? -
Six Nations Crisis- “Canada’s Pandora’s Box?”
Canuck E Stan replied to NativeCharm's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Thats my favourite part But the reality is the fact that they said because the possibility exists. It may exist but the reality is all those in Centeral New York, the Oneida Indians and the non-Indians will not put up with: The six nations are like those adversaries, those who do not care about the well being of all citizens in the Caledonia area. Six Nations have much to learn from their American counterparts. -
Six Nations Crisis- “Canada’s Pandora’s Box?”
Canuck E Stan replied to NativeCharm's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I like the idea of the State, the Counties, and the Oneida Indian Nation of New York having agreed to stand together to defend any any landowners being threatened. Co-operation as it should be. -

The cost of having her face on our money is enormous in Quebec. -
"Many"? Christian groups? This link is to a political party. Pretty goofy assertion in linking a polical party to "many christian groups" not being happy with the conservatives. Gee,many Green party,Liberal party,Bloc,NDP, ect. aren't happy with the conservatives. What are you trying to flame here?

MAPLELEAFWEB BANS PEOPLE WITH ANTI-GOVERNMENT VIEWS!
Canuck E Stan replied to saga4's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You assume the banning is because of anti-government views? Are you an idiot? Go back and reread your posts....carefully. Greg does a good job as moderator, and if he has banned you it's probably justified. I'll stick with his decision. Obviously you weren't saga4 before, who were you and let us tell you why you got banned. -
130km of Lebanese coastline affected by oil slick
Canuck E Stan replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I would have to say that if Israel ever did use nukes to respond to lebanon, there would be no need for a responce as there would be no one left to respond to. We are talking here about countries that are tiny in area and one or two nukes would wipe all the people from most of the countries from the face of the earth. The reality is that if any country will be obliverated by a nuclear bomb it will be Israel by those Arabs who have nuclear weapons. Iran is just itching to use their nuclear weapons to become the hero to Arabs around the world by destroying Israel. -
130km of Lebanese coastline affected by oil slick
Canuck E Stan replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
"130km of Lebanese coastline affected by oil slick, That only leaves 95km of coastline. "MEASURED RESPONSE"???" Am I living in Lebanon? How many more non-Federal Politics topics is Gerryhatrick going to post in Federal Politics? Just another Anti-Harper rant by Geryhatrick. Enough already. -
If Canada is asked to supply troops?
Canuck E Stan replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Gerryhatrick (as Greg has told me to call you) The only thing lame is your flaming and your "measured response" to all problems....Anti-Harper and simplistic comes to mind. Can't talk with someone who thinks he has the ability to know what others think and spends his time arguing with himself. Sorry, I got more important things to do than read your dribble....which reminds me,I have to take out the garbage. -CES -
If Canada is asked to supply troops?
Canuck E Stan replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
In order to send in troops to die, you have to have troops in the first place. No,he knows,(thanks to the Liberals not keeping the military equipped with new spending for more soldiers) that there aren't enough soldiers to go around, and that the responsibility for the area at one point must be taken with the Arab natiions in the neighbourhood. -
The Conservatives might be asking for $$ but the option is still your to support the Party or not. Nobody is making you give, unlike the Liberals Party who used taxpayer $$$$ to fund their Party.

If Canada is asked to supply troops?
Canuck E Stan replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Harper has it right, let the countries surrounding this war torn area police it. It's their neighbourhood and it's time they showed some responsibility instead of having everyone world-wide do the dirty work for them. Canadians are doing enough elsewhere. -
Israel targets a UN outpost
Canuck E Stan replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Gerry, I'm flattered that you feel you must send me personal messages, but there is nothing of importance that couldn't be said here. Like your last one: "If I deem you unsuitable for public conversation I will respond to you in private. If you feel the need to take my PM's into the public forum and respond to them there so be it. Looks a little foolish, don't you think?" If you feel it looks a little foolish maybe you shouldn't send responses in private. I get enough trash mail,I don't need more. -CES
