  1. People who get all caught up in the "global warming" and the need for "Kyoto" and the necessity for Canada to do something, seem to forget that Canada only contributes to 6% of the world's problem. Yea,yea, I know we have to do our part, and we will with a made in Canada policy. But the reality of the situation is,some become obsessed with blaming the wrong governments to do the major reducing of pollution. Asia's boom is fouling Canada's air, scientists say
  2. Precisely what the 90% of the NDP delegates seem to have forgotten. Pull the troops out of Afghanistan, and what happens to the people we were sent to protect, in particular the Afghanistan women.
  3. Being a NDP infidel I would say: "Would you like sugar with your tea?"
  4. No I'm not, they should have had this group doing it. Why hire a pollster for a one shot poll, put them on the payroll full time like the Liberals do.
  5. http://www.canada.com/topics/news/national...a1d&k=45318 Good news. Cue all the tired old opinions that Kyoto is useless. It's so interesting to hear that one....for the thousandth time. If reports about the Conservative environmental plan are true they are out of step with a huge majority of Canadians on this issue. They should have had more than 70 odd people in their focus group!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's not confused the Kyoto targets and with the Kyoto Protocol. Most environmental targets are very similar to the one presented by Kyoto. This poll does not say Canadians support the Protocol, only the targets. Cleaner air, cleaner water and climate are concerns for most of us(who's against it?). The government's plan for a made in Canada environmental policy will take these concerns to the people later this fall. It's stupid to make accusations about what the government will propose without knowing what will be proposed. And any idiot that insinuated that people are supporting the Kyoto Protocol when in fact they are talking about people supporting environmental targets is just as stupid.
  6. How quickly we forget. Paul Martin and the Lobbyists ....and then there was the "advisors" from Earnscliffe.
  7. I guess it was global cooling that put an end to the dinosaurs in their Canadian tropical paradise way back when. If only those damn prehistoric conservative cavemen had done something about Kyotosaurus to stop it. I curse those idiots,we could be living in the tropics, here on the streets,in Canada. If only they were smart as Gerryhatricks and knew the answers to ALL the questions. The answer: It's Harper's fault.
  8. This is an extention of the prevoius government who saw, like the new Conservative government what was happening to the people of Afganistan particularly the women, and felt it was necessary to come to their aid. So with your thinking we should pull out. Who will take care of the Afganistan people then? The Taliban? So easy to say pull our troops out and just forget the people they are there to protect. Have you forgetten WWII?
  9. August I think you're right, this is the big group that will be affected the most. More than 50% of people have saved nothing. The boomers are the ones that will feel a recession more than anyone, with age and health being a primary concern at this point in their life, their nest egg could collapse in very short order. Many boomers who don't have anything saved for retirement and have nothing saved for that rainy day, which may end up giving up their dream of retiring and have to continue working for a longer period, providing they can. This recession could be a thunder storm for this group. Twenety years ago the savings rate was 10%,last year it was a negative savings. SIA Research Report
  10. Makes sense to me, so how can anyone make a decision of it's value until the facts are presented in full? Better a delay to the program rather than canning it without all the information.
  11. And if Layton had hair it would be long and have a flower in it.
  12. Your quote doesn't answer the my questions I'll ask the same question that Clements asks in this article:
  13. And what are the figures for how many have recovered? Or have attempted to recover? And comparing it to those who don't use the site.
  14. AIDS delegates won't leave Toronto Thank you from the rest of Canada.
  15. Unlike a Liberal city where anything goes.
  16. I got news for you, that may be how you see this picture, but there are kids out there who have been tramatized by dogs or cats and are dead afaid of them. I know of kids who won't go to a house that has a dog, any type or size. These kids have to be considered in this equation.
  17. When in Canadian Politics was there ever a consensus on anything? Harper's on the right track.....and the province is PEI,not Nova Scotia.
  18. Go to the forum home page. Bottom blue section is called BOARD STATISTICS. 19. I would also like the Senate to be abolished. That wouldn't happen in your life time. This is the next best choice, at least it would take the patronage appointment out of the hands of the PM and let the people of the provinces make the choice.
  20. Don't we already have that? First line under BOARD STATISTICS -Today's active topics
  21. P.E.I. might hold first Senate election, Tories say The arguements for picking PEI as the first province seem ideal for the Harper and the Tories. Although Senate elections must go through constitutional change, Harper can endorse the selection of the province because the PM picks the senators. His first move was on limiting senators to a 8 year term this was the start reform he said he would do, Elections would be another major change for the way the Senate is run. Can't say Harper is a do nothing PM. He's doing what others before him didn't have the balls to do, and all in short order.
  22. I think the truth about Jack Layton will come out later this fall when the test results come in. Fall test results Maybe, like in the Olympics if he fails the tests they'll take his leadership away from him. Who can forget Jack and his endorsement a few years ago“wonderful substance.” One has to wonder if Jack's thinking is result of something beyond his control. Stay tuned.
  23. And it is......so what's the problem? Any province that has no worthy opposition becomes a single party province. It's not the party's fault,it's the fault of the opposition that can't convince the voter to change. Bottom line is the voter gets what they vote for. And in the following election they get to vote again. That's how the process works.
  24. .......trolling and flamin' for attention...........again. Like others who are doing the same on this forum,it is best to ignore and not reply.
  25. He could have stopped shelling Israel when the destruction and lose of Lebonese lives got seroius, much sooner.
