The Atlantica Party
Canuck E Stan replied to [email protected]'s topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The "Atlantica Party Executive".......APE......sounds like some east coast monkey business to me. -
What should make you think something is amiss is the fact that non-native media has totally centred on the comments from some of the Caledonia residents. The fact that you took in all this media info and the issue of the opposing viewpoint never even entered your mind is curious to say the least. Wouldnt be the first time the media would be guilty of lies of omission. Read up on the Indian Act - some parts of that were a conspiracy.... http://www.ammsa.com/classroom/CLASS4indianact.html click - click - clicky - You only risk being educated Maybe the rag reading should be done on both sides of the coin.....even reading your own rag....again, and try to see the message beyond the words written. The Indian Act - Serious Internal Error: Discontinue use So as I see it,600 band councils each have a population of a few hundred to take care of with a budget of $40 to $50 million dollars a year. The natives have so much in-fighting between themselves and the other bands that without solidarity between everyone, nothing gets accomplished to improve the lives of all natives. Aboriginals expect to buy full time planners and other professional support to solve their problems And this has been going on for decades and decades. Is the problem the damn Indian act, or is the fact fact that natives don't have the leadership to fix their own internal problems to get out of the mess that thas been created for themselves. I've asked this question before, where are the native leaders? Where are your spiritual leaders? Where are your legal leaders, your medical leaders, your engineers, capenters, anyone who feels so strong they will work for the betterment of all in these communities. Six Hundred band councils means 600 hundred communities of a coulple of hundred people. Life hasn't changed in these communities for decades, and why because natives lack the leadership that will promote the desire and sacrifice to chan Getting money and land rights are not the natives biggest issues. Leadership is. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

The Atlantica Party

Oh No! Another REFORM party. East Coast Version -
Sorry, but your answer doesn't cut it. The statement was: IF the natives recieved $8 Billion, then yes the natives have to answer to where it went. Obviously you don't really have a clue(or care) how the chiefs and band councils are distributing native money. Just bury your head in the sand and just keep blaming everyone and the government for your misfortunes. Natives talk a lot about self government, and with $8 billion the natives could and should prove to the world they are capable of doing it. Every year for generations billions are given, and there doesn't seem to be any change in native problems or life style. Maybe with 50% of the native population being under 25, natives should look at themselves and start changing the way they are led. And begin to look for leaders who can lead this proud young generation forward. Canadians may not understand native problems, but at the same time Canadians don't see native leaders doing much for individual natives at the national or local level. That change has to come from within the native culture. If you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem.

Oddman in regards to Harper and his "God Bless Canada" you're the odd ball. Poll respondents give blessing to Harper's 'God bless Canada' Even our Constitution starts out with the words "Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God..." or how about the national anthem? .....God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. And we always seem to ask for God to bless our country on Remembrance Day. And I agree with the others, you do have a religiious chip on your shoulder along with that big 2x4 chip for the conservatives. -
CBC just announced their Fall line-up. Looks like a reality bunch of wieners.....er..winner programs coming up from the Mother corp. Seems like a lot of rehashing and copy-cat programs from other networks. Take a look! There's got to be one original program that's a winner...or not. CBC's exciting Fall Line-up

Good article by Lorrie Goldstien on the reason for trouble in Land claims. According to Goldstien the culprits are the governments, both Provincial and Federal: Why, no matter who's in charge, does nothing ever get better for aboriginals? Goldstien also talks about the amount of money that is given to the aboriginals, and how little it does for the individual aboriginals. It's probably in the best interest of everyone that the "system" of dishing out money to the aboriginals and the method of solving land claims be updated into something that becomes more efficient and moves a little quicker.Waiting decades to solve land claims seems a little bit excessive, and at the same time watching aboriginals live in poverty while billions are given, definitely needs a hard look and a sharp pencil of someone like Sheila Fraser, plus a commitment by government to implement the changes necessary to make the "system" one that works for the individual aboriginals and the government.Change can be good.

"Conservatives On The Defensive!"

CTV Wasn't this something done by teens(dances like the twist, the jerk and the chicken) during the dance craze of the early sixties? If not, maybe the conservatives could start a new dance and call it the Graham cracker. -
Oh really? The total cost of the CBC is almost 1 billion dollars a year. $30 a month times 20,000,000 tax payers is 600,000,000. It costs me more than a cup of coffee a day. If you and your wife are the only people in your house that pay taxes, you are spending $100 a month on the CBC to spew propaganda. Ahh, that's your problem.... - $1B divided by 20 million is $50/YEAR - if you drink coffee every day that $50 bucks covers only 14 cents a day. Where do you get coffee for 14 cents a day? Your problem is your year only has one month. You and your wife should consider a child, not only will you learn math from your child,You'll get $100/month from the gov't for him/her.

Teddy, Other tortures you forgot and should be included: 1. Having to read all of the Liberal "most important priorties list" from the last 12 years. All 700 pages of them. 2. Watching over and over again the instant replay of the goal that cost the Oilers the Cup. 3. Start a Muslim - in - Canada edition of Trivial Pursuit in your local mosque. 4. Go for a walk in Winnipeg without insect repellant. 5. Go for a walk in the disputed lands claim area in Caldonia,Ontario and take pictures. 6. Apply for unemployment in Calgary. 7. Put up English signs in the province of Quebec usung a truck with Ontario plates. 8. Starting a swingers club for Muslims. 9. Pick the most qualified candidate to be Liberal leader. and the last one, 10.Make them go back to their homeland.

Typical of the CBC(your NDPism is showing),it is more important to use some creative licence to get their propaganda message across, just as they did with the Trudeau mini-series. One would expect historical accuracy in our movie biographies, but instead we get a creative mockumentary for our children to get false information about people in our past. I hope the Gardiner family sues DeWalt and the CBC and bans this series from ever being played as a biography So finally justice has been served to the family of Jimmy Gardiner, they have won their dispute with the CBC. The CBC has agreed to pull the movie from anymore viewing or sales. CBC pulls Tommy Douglas movie Read the disclaimer? If it was a fictionalization and dramatization why didn't they use fictional characters? And the Calvert's Saskatchewan NDP government wouldn't interfere with inaccurate facts on "editorial decision-making". Nice centennial project making one of your own look bad. How many other CBC Documentaries did the same thing with their damatization of historical facts? I bet just about all of them.Anybody care for another version of St.Trudeau?

With your tounge planted squarely on the cheek of your ass maybe, you can explain why you would insult everyone's intelligence with starting such a stupid topic. Unless your just trying to be a flamin' troll.

From a column by Licia Corbella of the Calgary Sun,she speaks with Dr. Mahfooz Kanwar a criminologist, and professor of sociology at Mount Royal College in Calgary. Terrorism arrests should prompt complete rethink of immigration policy

Muslim leaders claim society excludes youth
Canuck E Stan replied to Canuck E Stan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Finally an admission by some Muslims , that it is they, that must do something to help turn their youth around, instead of blaming Canadian society. We failed our youth: Imam -
Muslim leaders claim society excludes youth Is this true, or are these people out of touch with how most youth of the western world think? It seems that all youth, and I'm talking about ALL youth ,of all cultures and religions, have a problem of being prey to just about anything, young girls and prostitution,drugs,counter-culture,anything that can warp the young mind.Youth seem to be naive and stupid about many things as they approach adulthood. Muslims are not any different. This is part of being young. Blaming western society, when the radicalization starts right in their own churches with extreme thinking of their sacred religion, says the answer is right there,in their own backyard. Typically of being in denial, these adult Muslims say it's someone else's fault. Society and youth have had struggles since before James Dean and the "they don't understand me" era. Why would Muslim youths be any different. Putting blame on Canadian society for their ills only tells me that it is they that don't understand their own children,or the Western society that they came to join. Once Muslims accept the fact that it is they that must start do something to help their own children adjust to society, the sooner their youth will be helped.Society can't be the blame for all their ills. We must help all of our youth, and the first place is to to pay attention to what they are doing and it all starts right there at home.

Liberal sleaze continues in opposition
Canuck E Stan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It ain't over folks, the natural governing party(leaders in waiting, that is) are giving you a tax break for donating to their campaign. One problem, there is no tax credit for donating to leadership campaigns. Oh-oh somebody(lots of them leader-type guys) did a no-no. More deceitful Liberal fundraising?
