  1. Ottawa to review help for non-resident citizens Won't be a popular stand with those with dual citizenship who make their permanent residency outside of Canada, but I bet those with singular Canadian citizenship will aprove of the move.
  2. Gerrypegger, Keep your posts on the board,I don't need you sending me personal ones. In regards to the "topic", I'm still waiting to read what it's relationship is to "Federal Politics" Just because a Canadian was killed doesn't make this topic "Federal Politics" this topic belongs "In the Rest of the World" Learn to place your topics in the right category. -CES
  3. For you this is a one sided confrontation, what's the other side doing? Poor Hezbolla terrorists are doing nothing, just sitting there getting bombed on. This is not a one sided war Gerrypegger. Hezbollah's Nasrallah promises deeper rocket attacks
  4. Why are hitting yourself over the head with a hammer by living in Toronto? There are hundreds of places to go to in Canada where you're head won't hurt so much, and your hammer will earn you a decent living. Yes I hear there are some nice places in say Alberta that blow Toronto away, what with Toronto being the seat of all that is evil.... Why are you westerners so jealous? (I assume you're a Westerner Canuck) I'm Canadian first, last and forever. No one said Toronto was evil. I've lived in Toronto for some time and Toronto is not the centre of the universe or even the center of Canada. Head in any direction outside of Toronto and you will see Canada as most Canadians live it. We have a great country with opportunities everywhere. All one has to do is move on down the road and explore the possibilities. For some the headache disappears when they leave a bad situation.
  5. More likely Peter Mansbridge and the CBC news team preparing for their demise.
  6. Cyber, you've got to shop beyond 7-11.
  7. Let's go back a short time,2004 during the election. The Conservatives propose in their campaign to purchase two hybrid carriers for quick deployment of helicopters and strategic lift. Paul Martin mocked this idea of "aircraft carriers" as he called them(remember the aircraft carrier ads?)Layton and the media did the same. These sure would have come in handy in the last couple of weeks. Harper also wanted to buy 4 of those huge heavy lift airplanes. That too was laughed off by the left. Martin and the Liberals created this lack of equipment because they lacked the vision to understand what was happening around the word. Watch for Canada in a few years when they get up to speed with the new equipment that is being purchased now. We then can be peace keepers as everyone in Canada wants Canada to be. We'll be proud then and we will then thank Harper for looking forward instead of backward. Times they are a changin'
  8. Probably true. I just got in from the beach and caught it on TV as I stepped in. Ah, holidays... Writing screen plays must be very rewarding.
  9. We'll let you update us, since you seem to have the most time on your hands.
  10. Kindred, Who the hell are you? A Lebanonese propaganda voice of doom. You might be better to move there, you would be an inspiration for your Hezbulloh (Hezbollah) terrorists. Better give it up here, you're convincing no one at this forum with your rhetoric. -CES

  12. "Some" Like who?
  13. We've already seen the terrorist activity for some time, where have you been? It was around when Martin was leader. It is also too late for the Arab children who were blown up in Israel by the Hezbollah. Israel population is 20% Arab. Why does Hezbollah kill their own? I'll answer that, because they have no regard for human life. They created all this by coming into Israel and kidnapping two Israeli soldiers. Canada's reputation and integrity? My friend you think too much of Canada's importance in the world. We're right up there with those important nations who make a difference to world problems like Norway,Japan,Iceland,And Spain. We don't even rate much in Hockey anymore. You're dreaming importance in colour while your set is in black and white.
  14. Kindred, ....And so nothing to stop it? What do you suggest? Send in Canadian troops? Tell them to stop? Get real, what the F*ck do you think Canada is,some almighty power that everybody gives a sh*t about? You've been under the Liberal media flag too long thinking we have some kind of world clout to do anything, anywhere. Why pick on Canada, pick on the UN,Israel and especially the terrorists that started this sh*t. If you're so concerned about the situation there, how about you take the next plane to Lebanon and volunteer your concerning services to help those there. I'm sure we here on the forum would respect you more if you did that, than spewing off about the situatiion in simplistic thinking.
  15. If Harper wasn't concerned about polls, her wouldn't have personally shown up in Cyprus. He could have freed up the plane, sent it on to Cyprus and taken a commercial flight home. CTV.ca Security not PR,it's the rule. So now you can have more respect for him
  16. Durgan, Agree with you 100%. That's why I'm here. To learn. I learn more from (most)people here regardless of their politics ....except those that feel it's necessary to linger off topic. Main media is getting what it deserves from Harper....nothing. You didn't vote for Harper's party, but will all of this Lebanon stuff change your mind in the next election? -CES
  17. Western Liberal spam.. I'll admit I was a little slow until I realized the link pointed at the site and not the article...my re-post of the link goes straight to the Globe and Mail article. I was a goof correcting it myself. Then again, how is this article about Federal politics? Greg should pull it.
  18. Ontario 24 seats-12,541,400 people Quebec 24 seats-7,598,100 people New Brunswick 10 seats -752,000 people Nova Scotia 10 seats -937,900 people Prince Edward Island 4 seats -138,100 people Newfoundland and Labrador 6 seats -516,000 people Alberta 6 seats -3,256,800 people British Columbia 6 seats-4,254,500 people Manitoba 6 seats-1,177,600 people Saskatchewan 6 seats -994,100 people Northwest Territories 1 seat -43,000 people Nunavut 1 seat -30,000 people Yukon 1 seat -31,000 people Total 105 seats Canada 32,270.5 people I don't think so. Right now Atlantic Canada has more seats for it's population and size than any other region of the country. If anything they should be giving up some of their seats in the senate,or the government should increase the seats for some of the other provinces.
  19. correction on your faulty link Daily Canuck
  20. This is the problem if we make rescue a Canadian government policy. Once the government falls short, people have a sense of entitlement and the government is held responsible for compensation. Too many years with a Liberal government. Who by the way couldn't help Tsunami victims for over a week because there weren't any planes that could make the trip. We had to Rent-A-Plane in order to help. Canada was a joke then when other countries were already there within days. Now the left and it's media is bitchin' about lack of resue by Harper. They should thank the Liberals for what we have today. "I'm entitled to my entitlement!" as Dingwall would say. Maybe Chretien's two jets he purchased from Bombardier for 100 million could be turned into rescue planes. Wednesday, April 17, 2002
  21. Since when has 'fast exit' been a right? So now Canada's new global policy will become- "24/7 anywhere-Canada will Resc-U"
  22. And I would be more interested in those Canadians who mosey into Canada and actually don't have a home, employment or even relatives here in Canada............. the lines for welfare form at the left.
  23. Seems our politicians are also squabbling about dual citizenship Canadians MPs squabble over cost of saving dual citizens
  24. It's okay, but I still prefer Bourque Newswatch for this kind of stuff.
  25. Did a seaarch on dual citizenship, nothing came up. Not to be critical but, maybe with 5,700 posts under your belt you've come across the topic more than the rest of us. Sorry if I started an old topic. How much of a burden on Canadians living in Canada will all these Dualies have on Canada when they decide they need Canada when they are in bad health or in need of old age pensions? Citizenship in my opinion is too easy to get in Canada...3 years seems to be too short of a waiting period. Yes we should tighten up the rules, and for me, not allow dual citizenship.
