  1. There does seem to be a new kind of cult of victimhood developed over the past while. I think it's a conservative thing, comes from a feeling of helplessness. One of the differences between liberals and conservatives is liberals, when they see something they don't like or disagree with, will take whatever action seems most likely to change it where conservatives will complain that it's happening. Liberals, simply put, do, and conservatives complain about what liberals do. If there's nothing specific to complain about, conservatives complain that liberals control the news media or they control the entertainment industry or they control the universities. This victimstance is common to groups who are unable to take action to improve their lot in life- they create a powerful, behind-the-scenes entity that's wielding a puppeteers control. Freemasons, Jews, liberals, whatever. It's not a new phenomenon, it just has a new, conservative face.

  2. Canada said "no...we don't want your stinkin' evil missile defence." The USA said "okay...no prob." Now Canada blames America for not providing missile defense FOR FREE. Typical Canada.

  3. I don't care a lot about what political parties do or don't. I was talking about small-l and small-c liberals and conservatives. Small-l liberals are active, often activist, as are most people on the left, where small-c conservatives are passive. They expect that a strong, firm-but-fair Daddy state will maintain order and all that's needed from citizens is obedience. Laws, for example- conservatives see most social problems as solvable by legislation. If you should do something, there needs to be a law that you must. If you shouldn't do something, there needs to be a law that you can't. Unfortunately, many of those shoulds and shouldn'ts are religious or moral and have no place in the law. Liberals, for the past while, have been engaged in tossing out bad laws. Gay marriage was the last cause, pot (and all drug) laws are the current one, and I predict assisted suicide will be the next. It's just another way liberals and conservatives are different. Liberals are all about individual rights, conservatives about designing society.

  7. Guys if you have a problem with Islam, go to the court with all your proofs, evidences, documents. Do you not live in a "democratic" country ? You cant solve your problems by posting in a forum or Twitter.

  8. Stop trolling. All religions are stupid mind control nonsense. But that's a choice people are free to make, within the law. Islam is not a problem in Canada. Islamophobia is.

  9. Who the hell cares. It's a religion. They're all archaic and strange. But people are free to practice as they wish, within the law. There is no justification for Islamophobia in Canada.

  11. Let's hope so. I'm going to do my part and vote strategically, as well as using my considerable personal influence to convince others to do the same

  12. Sounds more like it's democracy that's in trouble when the government ignores the people.

  13. At the end of the day it doesn't matter much if there's a benefit to child learning or not, because that's not the purpose what FDK is and whether it was beneficial or not wouldn't have much bearing if the program continued or not I'd wager...it might only factor into if FDK or full-day daycare was chosen to be subsidized. This is about votes & the (sad) reality that we want the state to raise our kids instead of parents/families. Don't know of many other animals/mammals who have strangers raising their offspring so mommy & daddy can afford those BMW payments and the bigger house with the huge master bedroom, on-suite bathroom, & walk-in closet.

  14. I am sure a strike would be the first reaction of these unionist mentality teachers . south of the border they do not get the payrate or time off of Ontario teachers. Would the parents get a refund for the service not provided- Parents have to pay the tax regardless- so again not fair- just like the last strikes- no compensation offered to the students or parents . If the teachers go on strike (selfishly)-as society tries to take control of this problem-and get the teachers teaching instead of NOT- then let them stay on strike- and give us are money back so we can deploy the funds efficiently . There are lots of hard jobs-that is so condescending-( eg my job is harder than yours) if it so hard then why not dismantle the union and allow open hiring( freemarket) .If someone needs to be sacked- just like in the real workforce-it gets done. teachers pay may go up as well as the time off- if you are so confident that the job is so difficult and underappreciated. I am sure the teachers will get back to teaching as opposed to take a job somewhere else- especially when they see what is out there. Our students are learning from people who display bad work ethic- what a great gift they leave the parents to deal with. the job at hand and paid for is teaching the kids -not hoping the teachers like it enough to show up
