  1. When the inevitable cost overruns rear their ugly heads in these projects, foreign companies from allied nations are a lot easier to keep in line than local oligarchs with political connections everywhere. Having them built here is preferable in many ways but, again, it has the disadvantage that the government may have to demand cutbacks to the program, including job losses, in Canada itself, something politicians hate doing.

  2. Defending people against persecution isn't hating their country. They're actually defending the values that make Canada so great. You're worried about seeing people who have a different skin colour in shopping malls. Well I got news for you. Their DNA is almost exactly like yours. They just happen to have a different skin colour, like dogs have different types of fur. No one is making a big deal over black or white dogs. To most people their just Dogs! So why can't humans treat themselves the same way? I judge people by their character. I know very nice white people, and I know very nice brown people. I know very scary white people, and I know very scary brown people. I've met good people who go to church, and i've met cult-like Christians. I've met good people who go to the Mosque's, and i've met idiots who preach Sharia law. It's time to judge people on the content of their character, instead of the colour of their skin, or their religious background. Don't act like brown people are invading Canada. I've been to Cusco, Ecuador. The colonial district is full of white people. If you visit certain parts of Central America, there're large clustors of white people buying up property. We live in a differnt world now, and people should be able to enjoy moving to different countries. Treat people how you want to be treated. If you go on vaccation to South America, do you want everyone calling you Gringo, or do you want strangers happy to spark up a conversation with you? I moved to Canada from Syria. You people keep calling it a shithole. Does this look like a shithole to you?

  3. We're a country of politically brain-dead dolts. Content to let another country look after our defence all the while looking down our collective noses in our typically self-righteous manner. Content to vote in twice the most corrupt, appalling, inept fool . . . ever! Content, content, content. We are the joke of the world . . . . and we're content with that. F'k !

  4. I guess it must be the case in Canada as well with people who vote for the Liberals but in America with the Democrat-voters most of them are not that keen on immigration but they just don't consider the issue of immigration as a big deal like many other issues. It is a very small minority of the population who base their voting on wanting more immigration and would stop voting for a party if the party made its stand on immigration stricter. Of course if a party rallies around traditional left-wing issues such as workers rights but at the same time was a very pro open borders those issues cancel each other out but unfortunately too few voters realise that.

  5. This keeps getting better and better, with the liberals just digging holes every where, and liberal voters absent once again... Now there is a cry that the Canadian military needs to be purged of this type of culture.... once again the media misses the target.... lets take a look at the country over the last 5 to 10 years, it is not just the Military, RCMP, Coast guard, and every other Governmental department...the problem lies with Canadians...it is here that Canada draws it's recruits from, and while it may be imbedded in their cultures be it policing or military etc... the majority of it lies with us, joe blow Canadian... and why do we tolerate this behavior at all. 6. I always judge individuals by their actions. But we're not deciding our preference for immigrants based on individuals we will never meet. We're deciding them based on cold, hard logic and statistics about what is known about those groups. And the groups from the middle east are, by and large, economic failures in Canada while bringing with them a fanatical religious view of the world which is antithetical to Canada's customs and values. Now if I trusted my government to carefully examine the views of these prospective immigrants with regard to their tolerance, adaptability, and willingness to embrace Canada's culture and values things might be different. But our government does not do such things. Even though most Canadians would prefer they do so.

  7. And I'd dump the brainless leftoids who hate their country and see our immigration system as yet another opportunity to virtue signal about how noble they are.

  8. Great question, i would start with that would depend on your definition of Patriotic. And patriotic to what the nation, or it's social programs. I'm betting my definition is much different than yours. I am all about freedom of speech and opinions, not once did i say STFU no one wants to hear your opinion, but in expressing his opinion one must also expect for someone to call it out, and thats what i did, Forcing anyone to do something against their will is at most the last resort. If the Liberal government had done a better job at explaining to Canadians the facts about the vaccines and why they are good for us, I'm sure most of the population would use it's "common sense" and choose to get the shot. not much of that going on in this nation today... Forcing people would mean what exactly ? Having the police or military go door to door drag you out on the lawn for everyone to see and start pumping arms up with vaccines.... does that sound like the Canada we know today....no it does not, Perhaps the real answer is to use the carrot method, you can't send your kids to school, you can not leave your province, or country, no using public facilities like pools, malls, parks etc.... or perhaps you want someone to pound on your door, yelling "open up it's the police", bring your naked arm to the door, it's show time ...

  10. first of all, I must say that I understand and respect your opinion. You are a believer.... Let's figure it out without political stereotypes .. 1. You write that you read "a little book about Marxism", which was written by some author I read the primary sources of Marxism . Do you think you know more about Marxism than I do? 2. I explain to you - Marxism is just a "naked theory" ... To get Reality, you must know Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism, Juche ... 3. But I like that you are trying to understand politics.

  12. 1. Regardless of whether you agree with the idea, it is bought into by business and economic orthodoxy, so this is to me what is driving immigration. 2. A lot won't agree with you here. I would say that having cosmopolitan ideas, and especially entrepreneurship is something we can use, though.

  13. A bureaucracy knows only one way to move forward: copy and repeat the past. If importing cheap professionals from underdeveloped world helped it pay for itself in the past, how else could it sustain itself going forward? Import more... you get it.

  14. I think your statement is fundamentally flawed. It begs the following questions: 1. What is Canada, which needs immigrants? The Canadian landscape, environment, wildlife, plants, air and water do not need any immigrants and do not benefit from them. So take all that out of "Canada" and see what you have left. 2. "Contributing" to what and to whom?? They do not contribute to improving my lifestyle for sure. So using "all Canadians" in your statement makes it look and sound like what it really is - propaganda and meaningless political bullshit that was etched into your brain by the Minister of Immigration or other phony "leaders".
