  1. I would argue there is no right wing media in Canada. The media are all progressive, yes, that includes Postmedia, and likewise there are no right wing parties, and yes, that includes the 'conservatives'. All of them, without exception, support the full array of progressive social policies. The media in the West, but certainly in Canada, have long seen themselves as a force for good, as a force to show the world the injustices they want addressed, as white knights leading the charge for change. The problem is once you start arguing for something you lose all neutrality. You select the kinds of stories you believe will support your agenda, and discard or play down others. This isn't even getting into opinion. I'm talking about the actual news. You'll put the spin on them which matches your agenda, and that agenda in Canada is almost always progressive. Thus you will, for the most part, only read good stories about immigration and refugees. You will not read of crimes committed by them. You will not read stories or see videos of intolerant immigrants showing their homophobia or antisemitism. You will only see and read of intolerance from white people. You will not see many, if any stories about how many immigrants fail and are unemployed or on welfare. You will see and read stories of successful immigrants, of happy refugees waving Canadian flags. You will see and read of people saying immigration is good for the economy and is necessary because of an aging population. You will see no stories of people claiming otherwise.

  2. Let's step back and take a little bite of reality: Aboriginal bands (there was no "nation", just a lot of warring tribes) have been clamouring for "self government" for decades. We are talking about a group of people racially qualified to receive the privilege of virtually unlimited funding. Do you know what a small town in rural "Rest of Canada" does when they need water? The drill a well/tap a river, design or pay to have someone design a workable system of treatment, build a plant, operate and maintain that plant, and so on. THAT is what self-government implies. Elect a representative body, plan your infrastructure, execute the plan, maintain the infrastructure with accountability to the taxpayer. Chiefs and councils seem to be able to organize (i.e. beg for) funding to build endless casinos and bars, sell untaxed tobacco, gasoline and booze out the back door, but for the life of them (or their constituents) they seem to miss the intent to provide safe drinking water and just scream at the feds (yes, I realize that reserves are indeed federal land - but when you declare yourself a "sovereign nation" you need to take on some responsibility, not just skim the cash).

  3. The media has lost its way, used to be they prided themselves for being unbias, regardless of the story. but today, the media has divided into 2 camps the left and the right and the truth is some where in the middle. As for politicians it is hard to find one that has integrity, honesty, and professionalism, That they are in office to serve the people not themselves. Respect is always earned, not many Canadian politicians have earned my respect. We are all guilty of it myself included, i think it illustrates just how divided we are as a nation, and why we can not get things done. Canada is long due for a leader, that will serve the nation and it's people, one that unites us both left and right, maybe it is just a dream of mine..

  4. Proves nothing Beave. Those are either requests for Poll watchers to be allowed to watch, delaying tactics of the sort Al Gore and others have used while they gather evidence or they're still being litigated. In the meantime lawsuits continue to pile up. In fact, here ya go Mike, this one's from the Hill. I'm pretty sure you guys are still allowed to read the Hill, aren't you? Trump campaign files new election-related lawsuit in Arizona

  5. So I repeat the question: So if some states declared civil war tomorrow and started marching troops on DC you’d be like “we’ve had civil war before, this is totally normal”?

  6. Here's another one you can feel free to give me evidence showing me why I shouldn't take it seriously. Do you have any reason to believe Republican National Chairwoman didn't say that or are you demanding I don't consider it because the Western Journal is reporting something she said on Hannity? The Thread title says this conversation is about "The Lawsuits." You sound like you're saying you want to have this conversation without hearing the Republican side. That will be difficult seeing as it's Republicans laying the lawsuits.

  7. Do you have anything from anything you're calling a "real source" showing why we shouldn't believe that "The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit Saturday in Arizona" or "PHILADELPHIA — The Trump campaign is prepared to file several lawsuits on Monday, alleging widespread voter fraud in Pennsylvania?" I'm willing to consider it if you do. I won't hold my breath waiting though.

  8. Shootings ? ...check Bombings ? ...check Massacres ? ...check Terrorism ? ...check Hell, these things even happen in Canada, not just the United States and other nations. Do you deny that a Canadian recently tried to kill President Trump and law enforcement officials by mailing ricin to them. Accordingly.... Ricin terror attack ? ...check

  9. And on the counting. Texas has 29 million citizens. Florida has 21.8 million. Somehow they both were able to complete their counts in an election with historically high turn out. But a few swing states with much lower populations and votes, somehow slowed down their counting as the night went on, and then had to stop for the night. Pennsylvania was reporting being over 80% complete. Then the next morning the number was 62%. It's obvious they were selected to be the ones that would reverse their voting trends and have Biden overtake Trump. There is so many irregularities like this that Scotus simply has to step in. But if they do, and the election gets overturned, then it'll be a civil war. They may simply decide that it's not worth the carnage. Did anyone see Biden's victory speech this evening? He made several speaking errors, and one of the funniest was when he claimed that 230 million Americans had died of Covid. He quickly corrected himself, but there were 3 mistakes like that in the 5 minutes I saw. This guy is on his last legs, mentally speaking, I'm telling you. During the campaign he was making all kinds of mistakes and I doubt he'll be in circulation for more than another 8 or 9 months. Then it'll be time for the full time nurse... Did anyone notice that Michelle Obama did almost no campaigning for the old guy? One or two small things and that's about it. She hates Trump with a passion, but wouldn't join Obama out on the campaign trail.

  10. I imagine you should have figured this one out by now. No more immigration from fucking anywhere! Till this place starts feeling like a country with some sort of a nation in it!

  11. Post election violence was "normalized" in the U.S. a very long time ago. A Canadian national tried to poison Trump with ricin just a while back.

  14. I never had a lot of time for kids who said, with no evidence, the game is fixed, just because they lost. They were always the same ones who tried to cheat before they lost. Losing with disgrace is never attractive to watch.

  16. Yes. Because that's what grownups do and have always done in the US since 1797. I expect that boob Trudeau to leave peacefully, too, if we can gather enough votes to kick him out.
