  1. I've got lots to bitch about. Supplies of Heinken and Orville Redenbacher are running out I'm faced with having to make do with Lucky Lager and Jiffy-pop. And WTF are you doing posting on here at 11:00 in the morning anyway? Get back to work.

  2. Easy for you to judge us while sitting in your safe space. You get to have the welfare from the hours I work, but you don't get to bitch about it. You do nothing, so STFU.

  3. No, not even close. Clinton had fewer votes of the votes cast than for all other candidates, and even less for all eligible voters.

  4. Bad timing. I hear his approval is at an all-time high. Presidents often get an up-tick in national emergencies, and this sure as hell is one.

  5. Most? He has never cracked 50% approval. He won based on narrow wins in 3 states. Trump supporters "hope" that Dems will stay home like they did in 2016 due to apathy for Hillary. That's the wishful thinking. Also, optimistic polling happened before his asinine and reckless Easter comments.

  6. The government is not asking us to do anything particularly daunting. To start, stay home for a few weeks. They're not asking us to hand our firstborn to the army and our second-born to the navy. You're using another straw-man here and pretending the government is asking us to accept anything is justified. They're not. The stimulus bill Trudeau tried to pass was a bit of a turd and he overstepped there, but accepting some short-term self-isolation is not the end of the world that you make it out to be. The curious thing about this sort of mindset is that on one hand, you're telling us that the fear-mongering over the virus is exaggerated and hyped, but then you're doing the same thing with the theories about the government grasping and about how the sacred "economy" being sacrificed (never to recover I guess?). That too is exaggerated. Coming out of the current crisis, governments will have been served a rude awakening and will be more serious about future preparedness. It will ultimately be an expensive lesson to learn, but the one thing that western economies continue to do successfully is ignore their problems until they blow up in their face.

  7. The government has us in a head space where we are led to believe anything they say is justified because they are saving lives. They may be doing the exact opposite intentionally or unintentionally and this is why people like you will be exposed. Its not acceptable but its inevitable as we humans when making decisions about managing life and death allow our fear of death to distort or rational thinking processes.

  8. No thanks. I hugged my kids when they were little. I wonder what lessons todays little kids are learning about hugging? That's right, me and the fire fighters, and the doctors and nurses are all going to be out on the front line today. Thanks to these people we will make it. Even a cleaner is a hero today.

  9. Fair enough, but that doesn't mean you have to make excuses for governments engaging in obvious friendly fire, that does not follow.

  10. Get ready to praise the lord, because chances of it being the doomsday bug ain't that high, and chances of your wife getting it via teleconference ain't that high either.

  12. we're at the very beginning of a logarithmic curve, man... check it out, the curve is a rocket going straight up: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ do the math. for every 100M infected there will be 2M dead. its unknown how many will be infected in the first wave. but without immediate severe action then it could easily be 1/4 to 2/3's of the population in the US. 1/3 gives you the 2M dead. i'm not really sure what "fear mongering" people are talking about.

  13. Me too I got sick like a lot of others at that time and I never get the flu. It lasted a day. I think you are right but I have no proof. Hey Di I am willing to do my part I just do not think long term we can keep everyone home. I hate that I can not have kids visiting my dogs anymore and calling me baldy.

  14. Doug Ford is running things here and he's doing a pretty good job Canada is leaderless and Trudeau is sidelined, but in reality, most of our relevant services are delivered by the province anyways, Canada itself, is just a boondoogle Trudeau wont take command, so each province is basically on its own

  15. You don't. It looks like the rise of Kumbaya is really having a bad effect on people who would prefer a more hard-boiled sink or swim approach on the economic side of things. It seems there's a lot more opinionated floundering about from the usual suspects as they watch in panic as social concerns blow thru economic concerns like a tornado thru a trailer park. Socialism is supplanting capitalism in a matter of weeks without firing a single shot and the tipping point is already receding so fast it can't be tipped back. It's phenomenal times we live in.
